Good vid Troy. I replaced the bulbs and flasher unit and still have no right / rear brake or turn signal light. any ideas?

I’d check for a good ground next. Make sure the socket connections are good and clean too.

I dropped the same screw on the same side last night when I was putting my led bulbs in haha 200 Dodge Ram Laramie

What year was it and same flasher module he used?
@richardbishoff83532 жыл бұрын
@@jameswhite1338 it’s in my comment. A 2000 Dodge Ram. And yes it’s led flasher relay. $9 at Napa in my town

I would recommend on your door locks to disable the unlock. My truck got broken into twice by someone using a movers pump back to separate the door from the frame then fish a long pole/wire into the truck and push the unlock. I disabled mine by inserting a piece of plastic between the contacts. So I can't unlock with the switch but who cares. I can still lock the truck.

Doesn’t work on a 2001 ram 2nd gen 5.9 v8 the relay recommended makes a blinking noise when plugged in even when not using blinkers, so I’m guessing you would still need to splice in the resistors. Still a good video just a heads up

Oh no. Thanks for adding the detail though. Helps someone else out. 🙌🏼

I think you will have to replace all turn signal bulbs with LED bulbs front and rear for LED flasher to work?
@troysgarage3 жыл бұрын
Nope. Fronts are still standard bulb. Everything is still working great. And I haven’t burned out a bulb since this video. Not sure what was causing it 🤷🏼♂️ but don’t care now cuz it’s fixed. 🙌🏼

How did you pull out the relay on the truck?
@troysgarage4 жыл бұрын
Grab it and wiggle it while pulling. It’s just like pulling a fuse but a little harder cuz there’s 4 electrical prongs.

Do you have to change the front blinkers too?
@troysgarage6 жыл бұрын
You don’t have to but you can. I’m pretty sure that LED front signals would cause the same fast flash due to low voltage draw as well.
@Mr3X7R3M32 жыл бұрын
Bulbs burning out faster than usual is a sign of high amperage in the wiring. Usually cause by bad wiring/grounds…. You need to fix your wires before something else goes bad
@troysgarage2 жыл бұрын
after switching to LEDs there were no more gremlins for several years. Not saying you are wrong, just that there weren't any other electrical issues that showed themselves. I've since sold the truck (2 months ago) and still see it cruising the streets, which makes me happy. Was such a good truck for me. I personally put almost 200K miles on it in 16 years. Sold it with 307K total miles

@@troysgarage since LEDs pull such lower amperage, having high resistance grounds is less prevalent. Awesome to here it’s still running after such a good life. Really hope mine does, but I won’t hold my breath lol

Can you do this the same with a led white light for reverse?
@troysgarage5 жыл бұрын
Yeah, here’s a link to the LED reverse lights: amzn.to/2DZvAI9 These are plug and play, nothing special needed for reverse bulb replacement! 👍🏼

Will this also fix the brake light not coming on?
@troysgarage3 жыл бұрын
Depends on why the brake light isn’t working. If the bulb keeps burning out then yes. Also check the contacts in the socket for signs of corrosion. Clean them if needed by scratching then with a screwdriver or knife before replacing the bulb.

Good Video...Thanks for posting! BTW...where did you get your spray-in bed liner done?
@troysgarage7 жыл бұрын
+WJK it’s a “TurboLiner” from a place in Draper Utah that is no longer in business. It’s held up super well. I love it! Best $500 upgrade and all my trucks will have bed liners going forward!

Do you have to replace the hazard relay as well?

Nope just the flasher as described in the video.

Hey man where did you get your dash bezel I have the same truck
@troysgarage6 жыл бұрын
Note that this is a cap or cover. Not meant to be a replacement. Glues over the top. Also be sure to measure the depth of the top part right behind your steering wheel. Most are shallow but some of the 3500 and 2500 models have a deeper overhang. Hope that makes sense. www.ebay.com/bhp/dodge-ram-dash-bezel

It doesn't work for a 1987 Dodge ram charger , any ideas?
@greygoosemafia7 жыл бұрын
Sounds like you might've had some resistance in the circuit cause an over amperage condition.
@troysgarage7 жыл бұрын
Very possible. All I know is that this fix is in place and has resolved the issues without chasing wires and possibly causing even more electrical issues! We all love to hate those! Hahaha
