1999 Ford F150 Transformation

Before and after of my 99 F150 XLT. Truck is my daily driver, not perfect by all means, but I love it. Truck is 5 speed, 4.6 v8. Things I've done are flareside bed swap, muffler delete, 10000k hid kit, Harley Davidson style headlights, honeycomb grill, different front bumper lower valance with OEM fogs, fx4 wheels with brand new tires, truck has been lowered, plasti dipped pearl white, white faced gauges that can light up blue or green, pioneer double din head unit, 10" sub and amp, all speakers replaced, ect.

Did you use a hair dryer or heat gun to pry open the instrument cluster to add the EL gauges ? I want to do the same on my 2K Expedition but don't want to crack the instrument cluster, thanks!

Well done man, your truck looks clean and sleek. A successful mod should appear as though it came from the factory like that. All you need are the blacked out taillights to flow with your blacked out headlight & parking lights to really bring out that sweet pearl paint job.

Hello guys and gals. I owned a 99 Flare-side SLT F150. It was Amazon Green, 5 Speed 4.6. Unfortunately I owned this beautiful truck when I was 19 and still wild as hell way back in 99. I bought it brand new and to this day people still talk about this truck I had. I had to go work up in the Ozarks and on my way hit some black ice and totaled my beautiful truck. I have never seen another step-side Amazon Green and I have no picture of her either. If any of you have a amazon green step-side I would very much appreciate a picture of it. I can not find one searching google, yahoo or anything else. I am sure some of you understand the nostalgia of your first new vehicle. lol I thought this was a fast truck back then. Even if my friends Dodge 360 would run off and leave me. She was my baby.

Eric Espinoza thank you! I honestly don't. That is the only thing I didn't do was lower the truck. It was lowered when I bought it.

I did the same to mine. . . for a 4/6 drop you can cut one coil in the front+lowering spindles. In the back you can do the shackles, lower the hanger in the front and remove one leaf spring, I would advise doing a C-notch at this point. I like to call it the mexican drop. Don't forget to buy new shocks for lowered trucks.

the gauges are just a white face overlay. it is time consuming and a lot of little modifications. overall, not bad. believe I got the overlays off eBay.

What size tires did you install? Are they making contact in the front on tight turns? Did they install a lowering kit in the rear too? I installed shackles but still is not nice and even. Have a 03 XLT 4.6 reg. cab and a set of 18" OEM '99 lightning wheels but not sure what tire size to use to keep it as close to stock without the low profile tires. Thanks. Hey man. It's just the stock bumper. I replaced the lower valance with a fx4 (4x4) one. Bought the fogs and wired them up.

I highly doubt it but Google "2000 f150 straight bed to fireside swap" and read what the forums say is see it say "just bots right on" but you need something for the fuel thing from the new replacement bed and the back bumper may be different

Thanks a lot man. They are just some f150 fx4 wheels from like an 02 I believe. Usually on 4x4 trucks. I bought them and put some smaller profile tires on them.

Jose Gonzalez you can find the lower valance for around $75 and I think the OEM fogs were around 75-80.

Jesus Jimenez hey man, the truck was already lowered. only thing I didn't do to it. they used a rear lowering shackle kit and he cut the springs in the front.

hey man, thanks. I found the bed local on Craigslist. couldn't pass it up. bed was in great shape.came with taillights, tailgate, and a fiberglass tonneu cover. got it all for 400 bucks.

al barnes just a simple swap. It bolts directly on. You will need the harness from the flareside bed for the taillights, ect. A flareside bed rear bumper, and that's it.
