I used to own a 1990 F150 Xlt Lariat short cab, 4x4 8’bed. Inherited from my late grandfather. Absolutely loved that truck. Hit a deer on a Tennessee back road doing about 60mph and just totaled it beyond repair. Completely devastated at the time. Would really love to have another one.

I had a 1989, same color. 4.9 six. 5speed. I sold it with 360,000 miles on it. Only major repair was ball joints. I think I replaced one rotor in 14 years. I worked the snot out of it. Used it for roofing tear offs, hauling bales of hay, and general construction. Best truck I ever owned.

I bought my fathers 1995. F250 single cab long bed with 46k original miles. He kept it garaged. Looks and runs great. It’s now my daily driver. I rarely drive my $62k. F150 Black Platinum FX4. $60k trucks are the worst buy, ever. I get compliments on my F250 everyday. I get a lot of offers to buy it to. I’m going to sell my F150 because it’s a waste of money that keeps me poor. New cars will keep you poor. It’s the worst decision people make today.

5 years ago this truck inspired me to restore a Bricknose. I went with a low mileage 88 F250 Supercab, 7.3idi, 4x4, Auto. My interior is now as nice as this truck, and so is the body. I did a two tone factory colors Silver/Blue. With Blue interior. You can look it up here on YT. Title of the video is "Nicest Bricknose in Kentucky".

I had a 1988 F-150, 302 motor with a Fisher snow plow. Amazing the amount of snow I could push with it. Had good old manual locking hubs on it. Mine had cloth interior which I prefer over leather. Mine had cab lights on it and I wish Ford still put them on the F-150's, always thought they were cool looking. This body style I've always thought is one of the best Ford ever had. The interior layout was nice and the seats very comfortable.

I never dreamed these old 1980s trucks would be cool in the future. Boy am I surprised!! Back in the 90s we used to beat the hell out of these trucks. It’s a miracle one has survived. There was no “ better hang onto this” attitude about these era of trucks. Now in 2019 I look back and realize we were still in the golden era up to 1988 or so. I got a 2001 Silverado short bed stepside Z71 that’s rather uncommon now. Maybe I better hang onto it LOL
