I recommend the strut tower braces. I installed both on my 2002 GTP; now the body is quiet and the handling is noticeably better. Also, synthetic power steering fluid greatly improves the steering feel.

What this guy said. Me personally I couldn't feel a difference but I did notice my dash doesn't creek anymore after the braces. Just grab some factory ones from an Impala or regal. Kinda a waste to buy the zzp ones that are 4 times the price.

@@stephendavidbailey2743 you can fit the factory brace into the rear btw. Quite easy infact. I drive my gtp like a grandpa so I can't really give a good opinion on chassis rigidity. Only time I actually push the car is at the drag strip or if I'm logging.

Car is looking good. Nicely modified. I know what you mean about the seats. The driver side on my 99 has a tear after daily driving it for 22 years. By the way I came across a set of GXP calipers and swapped them over to my 99 GP and it a big difference.

Hey man! Love the videos. Just bought a commuter car 2002 Grand Prix GTP 209,000 miles one owner (our senior admin) replaced spark plugs, wires, headlights, brakes, tires, fuel filter, O2 sensors, and now fuel pump (car died going up hill). Can you give me any ideas how to keep this beauty running? This was my dream car at 16 but wasn’t affordable at the time. She’s faded, fog lights and sunroof do not work, but I’m so happy when I drive her

240 at the crank, not the wheels. I got 225 when i was stock plus headers. And of course 230k miles

I think 200 to 230 is the normal range.

@@mtvjackass74 most stock gtp's do around 200 whp. Give or take. Not every engine is the same, not every Dyno is the same, and environment is never the same.

Nice car. I had an 01 over 200xxx miles and it still ran good. I just had a problem with the headlights (they would shutoff randomly).

Make sure you check wiring too. Thats a common issue. Module is under the hood with the master cylinder

Great build man, I just bought a 2000 GTP with 161k on it from Fargo ND. The issues being the rockers are damn near gone and sometimes (not all the time) the trans lags and slams into 1st and 2nd. Those are the two big ones. Any ideas? It's my project car so I'm fine with lots of work.

The transition is probably just an indication that the transmission is gonna need to be replaced eventually

Rockers are about half way gone on my '02 GTP aswell. Thats just the way these cars are whenever you're In a state where cars rust. They were poorly designed from the factory. Rusted rockers won't really hurt anything but you could get them replaced by a body shop if you really wanted to. What I would check on though is the rear trailing arm mounts as well as your rear strut towers, another very common rust spot Because if those are starting to rot out then the car is pretty much junk unless you're willing to pay or go through the labor of cutting up the unibody to weld in new frame peices there. I would definitely make sure before going through and fixing the transmission.

I installed it when installing the intercooler because it is kind of necessary at that point, but other than that it should install pretty easily without anything else
