For FWD drags, either try a DR like Nitto or similar, otherwise just get whatever summer tire you want and roll into the gas. Difficult to cut sub-2.0sec sixty-foots without drag-specific tires (possible, but takes lots of practice/abuse). If you go for a drag pack, Montana 15x6's or older Bonnie 16x8's are good JY finds.

15inch or 16inch wheels wont fit with the gxp front brakes have to be at least 17inch wheels.

@@dezldave961 you could go bigger front brakes just would need to look at either bigger size weld wheels or a lightweight mustang wheel to work based on the brake size you upgrade to. Also Gxp rear brakes need at least a 16inch or bigger wheels to clear.

@@gaspoweredgarage already running Mustang wheels daily, and that's what the Welds are sized for. No significant need for brake upgrades here. I've got a video about Blue Ridge mountain driving in 2021, and it was fine, even in 11sec trim.

If you do go with the newer gen seats (7th) I’ve got a full guide on it coming soon and I also have the seatbelt guide for the new seats as well. I’ve got a set of gxp seats that I’m getting in my car now and I was able to 3D print the guides and would be willing to make a few for anyone that would want a set!

That sounds awesome. I just picked up a full set of seats from an 06 Grand Prix. The difference in quality compared to my 98 Grand Prix is Ridiculous. I cleaned up the new seats and they look fantastic. Before I install I’m changing out the old carpet as well. If you have something to share on the set up, I’m all yours. Thanks.

I have a 2000 GTP coupe. Bought it from an old fellow who had it for 15 years with a bunch of receipts It’s got 185 on the clock and runs like a clock I was hoping you could steer me in the right direction for a couple things - I need side/rocker panel moldings , mine are trash, I’m in Florida and can’t find a decent vendor - thx

I can find those seats and passenger door molding up here from our junkyard. I will look to see what I can find for your car. Maybe not Red but we may get lucky. I run brand new OEM headlights from RockAuto by TYC with Hikari 2023 bulbs. Amazing at night and early mornings. Plus I run aftermarket halo foglights to help too. That would be perfect for you since you’re in the country like I am. Definitely bring the chest microphone back lol You know 3800s don’t break, only the vehicles do. lol

I finally pulled off my lowering springs and Koni adjustables. I installed the ZZP coil over early this summer. I wanted to let you know what a vast improvement that was. Also I picked up seats from an 06 GXP and the difference is awesome compared to the crappy 98 seats. For tires, I run Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 4s 245/45/18. I am embarrassed to say that I waited 25 years to put a good set of tires on this thing. I love the way they grip and handle and highly recommend them. I have before and after pics if needed. Glad to hear your E85 is tuned and working well. I run E50 in both my truck and GP. I will be upgrading injectors this spring to be able to run E85. Keep up the content my man.

I'm glad the E85 conversion is working well for you and your car! I can't say I'll be changing my cars over but that's because no fuel stations in my area have E85..and to be honest, 87/91 is what I prefer to run for ease of "fuel all the running cars" part of pay day lol. On the cooling aspect of the 97-03 cars I have to agree with you in terms of their excellent cooling system in all manner of weather. Never had an issue even when using Dexcool. But as soon as I got my 07 there was temp trouble. I'll save the long story by saying there is a brand new cooling system minus the heater core and it has been converted to green coolant. It has been running as if it has the ZZP thick radiator, maybe reaching 180. That alone has soured my love of the 04-08 cars but the drive wonderfully. As for tires? That's the main thing holding me back from really modding at the moment, to get rims and tires suited for the power I want will cost two pretty pennies and I'll have to travel to a different shop to have them put on. Not to mention a full size spare! Keep up the good work! Love to hear the cars running!

Have driven two 04 GPs since 07. GT 07-19, GTP Comp G 2019 -now. No problems with Dexcool. Problem is with ppl who NEVER change their coolant.

@@glenhalstead2301 I have no maintenance history for this car other than an older lady owned it. I can tell based on other cars that have questionable maintenance histories that this one is by far the worst. So much of that liquid rust (as I call it) that it clogged the radiator. And that was after two separate two week long flushes. Maybe I am bad at flushing it but none of the 97-03 cars I own have that issue. And some are ROUGH. Interestingly the parts 07 I bought also has this issue. Although with 256k miles I not really surprised. Don't mistake my complaining as hatred for dexcool! I don't prefer either orange or green over the other. just an observation of the cars I own lol! I try my best to maintain my literal fleet of cars. And its really just oddly interesting to see this trend!

I have a 97 grand prix and my steering feels pretty light (not much road feel) I have heard that the 04-08 grand prixs had a heavier steering rack and it provided much better response. In your experience do the 04+ cars have a heavier steering feel or does it feel the same? I am wondering if a swap is worth my time

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Jesus is Lord! Romans 10:9 King James Holy Bible! Get Saved Today! We were all born Sinners and were in need of a Savior!
