22min.:23sec. ....that was the biggest moment of the race (and a damn good save by Katayama too). Damn, that was close and could have been so close at the finish if it weren't for that tire puncture on that #3 Toyota.

A late friend of mine raced in the Trans Am series for years. He raced against Sam Posey and Roger Penske, up until Willy T. Ribbs and the Roush team. He had a great story of cresting a hill and coming face to face with a spinning Sam. Ed somehow avoided Sam, and they had a good and very relieved laugh after the race. I have sadly forgotten which track that happened at. Posey was a great commentator, and Hobbs was always a favorite too, but Murray Walker and James Hunt were the best ever. Rest in Peace, Ed Hinchliffe.

Turns it wasn't Auberlen. It was Bscher. Team owner or not, that's not time or situation to be having the gentleman (polite for non-professional) driver potentially ruining the whole race.

This race, along with the 2007 event, denied Tom Kristensen victory number 10. Extremely bad luck when leading by multiple laps.

They were the fastet in 97 at the test before they got slowed down
