My friend has an '03 GT 5spd, intake, throttle body, plenum, offroad x-pipe, 2.5 inch catback and a tuner. He also has a '97 Cobra that's stock. We raced them ( I was driving the '03 GT) and the GT was a little quicker off the line, but by the time I shifted the third he was still in second and came right back on me. Those 4Vs are monsters top end compared to 2Vs.

The video speaks for it self the Camaro held its own with the ls1 327hp, against the cobra at 320hp. It was a tight race neither car really pulled one another, and a big part of racing is knowing how to drive and knowing your car. They are both really good cars and can both make really good power.

I thought the cobras came with 390 hp because they came with a supercharger. It was a good race cause the Mustang had more hp than the Camaro but the Camaro made up the difference by being lighter-weight.....Camaro rated at 300/325 hp and at 3,450lbs and the Cobra Mustang rated at 390 hp and at 3,700lbs. So that would make a pretty good good race anything could happen anyone's win......really that cobra Mustang with some very good tires and a pulley change to up the Boost would have rocked that Camaros @$$.....and I'm a Chevy guy.....lol

Its the part that sits above the air filter. It literally is the lid to the airbox. Getting one that sits up a little higher with less internal baffles helps horsepower quite a bit on these cars, relatively speaking.

After owning that car, spending thousands on busted TH700R4s, lack of true duel exhaust, rear discs that didn't last for shit, an L98 with no juice above 4700 rpm(bullshit TPI)spending thousands rebuilding the 350 with forged internals(don't waist your time with the L98, they have 2 bolt mains), I went Mustang and never looked back.

I really don't think so, That's an SS hood and front clip. The car has Z28 on the side. Also, if that was an SS the exhaust tip's would be different. I really think its a SS clone. lastly if that was an SS why would you replace all four wheels and tires. Just does not make sense to me. but I could be wrong, Respectfully.

Jacob Gaidemak it is a 98-02. the mod list says LS6 intake. the wheels were probably put on as a cheap way to get by till new wheels or needed cheap tires or hell maybe the previous owner put them on

I see alot of people say that thats an LT car. it is not.. just because someone has rims on there doesnt mean they came from factory that way.. all you could know is the owner bought the car with them on there, needed cheap tires to get by on, or they are waiting on new rims.. i had to put around on snow flakes on my 98 TA till i could afford new tires for my 11" wide back tire lol. doesnt mean my car is a camaro :P

That's incorrect. The camaros up through 1997 came with an LT1. The 1998-2002 Camaro, regardless of Z28 or SS came with the LS1. Which by the way, is known to be underrated to further the sales of the C5 corvette. The SS Claims 10hp > the Z28 due to the ram air induction that is actually functional.

the downside is the 4.6 sacrificed torque at lower rpms and is actually larger and heavier than an LS1, despite the smaller displacement, and the power rating was 215hp,(96,97) 225(98) 260hp(99-04) and 305-310 for the 4 valve(99-04)

There was the firebird (base v6) then the formula (base styling with the ls1) then the trans am(upgraded styling with the ls1) then the ws6 (better suspension package on the formulas and trans ams). You do realize a solid axle is FAR superior for drag racing than IRS? There have been many reports of the new camaros snapping axle shafts right at the rear end housing because with an IRS car, that is the weak spot. Same reason the 99-04 IRS cobras snap axles when they are pushing 600+hp.

I like the new Camaro. It has more interior "goodies", more adjustable steering wheel, better base level seats, better base level radio. It's just not faster, stock for stock. You can't beat the laws of physics(power to weight is to the Mustang's advantage.) Feeling better doesn't make something faster.

I've owned 2 Foxbodies,a '96 GT, and now a '12 5.0. I guess in Oklahoma you gotta make due with scraps. Where I'm from, I'm 30 min away from Steeda, Lethal Performance,etc.. It makes no sense to put a sbc in a Ford, changing engine cradle, accessories,electronics, there's nothing inherently great about a 350, that a 347 can equal or better.
