Give or take what would be the price of this repair and replacement. My 09 crv probably has the same or a very similar issue. Also in your opinion, what exhaust system/muffler would u recomment me install? Id be willing to get the top of the line brand/type if it meant it would last a little more. I have an indoor garage so i would be able to maintain it fairly well and avoid too much rust from weather.

Given the age and weathering and the fact that hangers have stretched , it would also been beneficial to replace them. After rust, broken or worn hangers are the leading cause of exhaust failure by causing stress on the system through strain and excess vibrations which leads to cracks. The life of that replacement will be shorten by the very fact that the hangers were not replaced.

So I have the exact same problem with my CR-V. Is the only way to fix this is to replace the whole muffler and exhaust? I was hoping to just reconnect them with a new falange or something?

The rust point shown here in this video is a COMMON problem among all CRVs. This video is instructing you to replace the entire Cat back system. Little did I know this is NOT the cheapest solution. You can buy a universal flange from any autopart store and weld it to the hanger it broke off from. This site has a great write-up. www.crvownersclub.com/threads/exhaust-flange-repair-writeup-2007-honda-cr-v-ex-l-navi.210244/#post-1625822

...same as Zack Frostic... I have the exact same problem with my CR-V. --- especially the rusted area at the flange by the muffler-- Is the only way to fix this is to replace the whole muffler and exhaust? I was hoping to just reconnect them with a new flange or something?

You can fix it but you have to extend and weld the hanger more to the front of the car cut off old connections and connect the exhale with something like that allegro.pl/oferta/lacznik-zlacze-tlumika-rur-wydechu-obejma-64x125mm-7546180597

You can literally just use 4 hose clamps. 2 around the sides of the exhaust line that are disconnected, two to pull them together on opposite sides of the flanges’ springs. Might get some rattling but I haven’t had any.

Common problem with these CRVs. Save yourself time and money; only need 4 worm hose clamps. One around each side of the flange that flares out, semi-tight, then one on top and bottom to pull them together. First fully tighten the first two, then the two pulling them together. Mines been running strong for 3 years.

Silicon Spray/Grease or Red Rubber Grease is better because is "rubber friendly."
