Maybe add in the video description that the wheel hub nut might be 36mm instead of 35 on some models.

Awesome video, I did both hubs on my 2010 Equinox. Paid $55 each off Amazon. Took about 2hrs to do one hub. I struggled with the 2nd because one of the 3 hub bolts was rusted tight and the head stripped. I was able to hammer an extractor on the rounded head and finally got it out. Banging the hub off the axle is a pain, just use a heavy hammer.

This video saved my bacon. I loved the step-by-step. I will have to invest in a smaller torque wrench since I couldn’t fit it underneath the wheel. Well, the information is great I love this channel.

FANTASTIC VIDEO!!!!! One of the best I've ever seen. Not a bunch of useless blah. Thank you, because my gmc has a small sound coming from the same wheel, but haven't diagnosed it yet. Your video will be helpful in figuring out the problem/solution.

I didn't order my hubs from 1A (maybe I should have), but I did want to warn others that might be trying this at home. I have a 16 Terrain SLT V6 AWD. The hub nut on mine was 36mm, not 35, so check quick before the whole wheel is off. Second, I got a PowerStop hub from RockAuto, and they don't list the lug nut size on most of the listings. I ended up with with an M12 post instead of an M14. I need to still replace the calipers and rotors, so it feels like a wasted weekend. Ordered the pair of hubs from 1A and I'll try again next weekend.

You guys have the best videos by far. I have been able to do many repairs myself because of it. I really appreciate it. I’m getting ready to replace my front lower control arms on my 08 Buick Enclave. My front left wheel is making a squeaky metal sound and I can’t figure out what it is. Everything looks good. And my CV axle is about two years old. Do you know why could cause this issue? Thanks again!

Great video! One Question, What is the reasoning behind him clicking the torque wrench twice. I thought once it clicks you are good to go. Won't that damage the torque wrench quciker doing it twice?
@spikeshartell46752 жыл бұрын
I've heard that it isn't necessary to put the torx bolt back in through the rotor and that it's only there as part of an assembly process at the factory, how true is that? I'd rather not put them back in if I don't have to because where I live rust is an issue and while my car hasn't been through a winter here yet it is around the corner. It'd be nice to have one less thing that could potentially seize up on me.

My wheel bearing assembly is not coming off. I removed the three fasteners holding it to the hub (of course followed all the steps shown in the video) and tried to hammer it off with a sledge hammer, penetrating oil, and even a gear puller wheel bearing separator to no avail. The gear puller managed to it partially moving out at an angle but not completely separate it. Mine is 4-wheel drive, hopefully that is not a factor.

How would I know if it's the hub or the lower control arm? My brakes shake but on a rotational motion. I've changed rotors and pads and it's getting worse. So it's not a warped rotor.

Hey guys love your videos. My question is that the axle shaft will not move in and out and the hub bearing doesnt even spin at all....not enough force or should i use a hub puller?
@1AAuto4 жыл бұрын
+Justin Epstein You can try to use a CV axle shaft puller to remove the axle. 1aauto.com

Not trying to remove the axle. Just a rusted stuck bearing. In your video he loosened the axle with the mallet. Mine is probably rusted in place.

I’m confused. Your video says the axle nut is 35mm but everywhere I look to purchase a replacement says it’s a 36mm. Only reason I ask is because I don’t have either a 35mm or 36mm socket. Never needed one. I don’t want to buy the wrong socket.

This is a year old, I'm sure you've figured it out but you broke your wheel sensor or the new one is defective
@kalfriesen56704 жыл бұрын
My question is does this wheel hub have the encoder or tone rings in it. If it doesn't the ABS won't work, the stabilitrac will turn off and turn off the ABS. Most parts I've seen don't mention having the ABS ring in the hub, only the more expensive ones mentioned it. Keep that in mind when you buy a hub. Also some of those cheaper ones mention meeting OEM specs but they don't say the ABS rings/encoder aspect of them. So that confused me, it seems the wheel bearing hub assemblies can fit a few different makes of vehicles, so be sure to get one that has the ABS rings/encoders. If there is anything else I need to know please let me know as I haven't purchased the assembly yet.

Yeah everything was great with the video except the axle nut size was incorrect it’s not a 35 mm it’s a 36 I brought home tools to do the job but left a 36 mm at my job so when I got home I had to go out to the auto parts store and buy it because in the video it said it was a 35 mm. Just a heads up
