This Speckled Trout (Sea Trout) is a new channel record! I don't care how you define 'Gator Trout" but this was it right here. And it was on topwater. And it was on a jetty. And Kristi caught it! A new PB, channel record, and memorable 1Fish2Fish moment - and the trout season just started for us! Wheww!

I don't understand why most people don't ever weigh the fish on their videos they just get a measurement? I mean why not get the weight on it before you release her. Especially considering y'all had that fish out of the water for probably 5 minutes, at least... LOL LOL. ALSO GOOD DEAL ON GETTING YOUR PB TROUT..I KNOW THAT FEELING AND THE EXCITEMENT, ITS A GREAT FEELING. JUDGING STRICTLY FROM THE VIDEO SHE LOOKS TO BE CLOSE TO 6 LB MAYBE SIX AND A HALF.. I'VE CAUGH PLENTY TROUT OVER 25" AND USUALLY 25" THEY'RE ABOUT FIVE POUNDS SO YEAH I'D SAY THIS 27-INCHER LOOKS MIGHTY HEALTHY SHE PROBABLY WEIGHS SIX TO SIX AND A HALF POUNDS. @@1fish2fish10 but did you need to have it out of the water for over 3 minutes?? And you where squishing its organs. Look how much it's stomach cavity was pushed in while you held it. People always make the assumption a fish that swims off lives but that's not always the case. You increase the mortality rate exponentially by increased handling and time spent out of the water. Any bull reds or overslot snook I catch are back in the water in under 45 seconds easy. Just my .2 cents.

Dude if you have wet hands it’s fine, keyword WET HANDS. Specks mouths are very soft in my experience. I prefer to use my hands and support it properly, not to throw shade at redfish Ross
