I cannot even begin to emphasize how bad of an idea it is, to put your finger in a Pike's mouth. I suggest looking up a picture of their teeth, and then imagining how lucky you were that it didn't struggle when Leo put his finger in it's mouth. Glad it did NOT go that way, though. I was cringing through that whole part (I've seen what they can do to a finger before lol). That aside, sounds like you're having a great time!!! Haven't been ice fishing in years, I think I need to try and get out there again :D

I keep it neatly tucked into a regular backpack all the time with my fishing gear, and can grab it anytime, put it on my back and go anywhere. I just read in another review that the rod length below the reel is adjustable as well, so I will try that too for even more portability. Probably the best setup I've ever owned. I lost the cap for the eyelets, but no big deal since I still have the black cloth sheath that came for the pole and I use that. Very portable and high quality.

Hey Mike, you should do a video over the winter at the warm water discharge on the Potomac in Dickerson. A lot of big fish move in there for the winter months. Best to go during the week to avoid the crowds. Hope you're feeling better. Keep up the good work!

1Rod, when you tread that plastic, never rig it hanging vertical, I'm sure you could catch a few fish like that, as "rules" of fishing are always broken, but rigging your plastic so it's horizontal, even on a vertical lure like you were using is KEY to fishing a plastic through the ice. Don't take my word for it though, Dave Genz and all the hot shot fishermen out there have been giving that tip for a while. Good luck fishing, and make a trip Lake Winnipeg for some giant walleyes in March. That would be an awesome vid especially since you don't ice fish as much.
