BIG FISH THROUGH THE ICE!!! Ice Fishing a TIDAL River (CRAZINESS)

Күн бұрын

AMAZING day of ice fishing!!! After ice fishing several shallow ponds without much luck, I decided to switch gears and move to a tidal river! Due to the fluctuating water levels, the safety of the ice was a big concern, but I was equipped with the proper safety gear and brought a buddy along to help me ice fish a spot I've never tried before. It took us a little while to pattern the fish, but once we did it was non-stop action until we had to leave. Ice fishing is a entirely different animal from what I'm accustomed to, but everyday spent on the ice gets me a little closer to becoming an ice fishing master!

If purchase a spud bar you can test the ice before you walk on it. It would be very beneficial for your fan base for you to show safe ice fishing practices. I've attached a link. www.amazon.com/Eskimo-CH11-59-5-inch-Multi-Faceted-Triple-Action/dp/B001ODAZE8

Hey guys I grew up ice fishing in the Northeast. A big tip when you get done with your auger make sure you put your blade guard back on because the blades are really sharp and I'm telling you right now you can run into that with your boot and it'll cut right through your boot and into your foot or your friends foot, or I've seen it cut open one of my friends dogs because somebody didn't put the guard on. Just a quick tip take it how you like it good luck fishing.

Cooking and Fishing I really recommend it! I thought about it for years before I finally tried it out. My very first time ice fishing, we we're catching Pike no smaller than six pounds, and there was never a time that we weren't chasing down tip ups or taking fish off the hook. I didn't get time enough to rest but we still got to have a few beers. Life is good on the ice, unless it's -30.

For future reference on the tip ups, instead of wrapping it around your hand and risking loops and tangles, when you pull it hand over hand, just pull the line off to the side. Easier to let fish take line. Nice vid my dude!

Sweet you got some tip-ups. Get some lights for them as well. That way you can use them at night for some big fish. Also get a deeper sled to hold your stuff. Buy a pair of bata boots. They are great in extreme low temps. Look into purchasing a marcum or hummingbird flasher. Much better visibility and less of a signal delay. Enjoy the videos keep them coming. Would love to see you dig into some walleye this season. Best fighting and eating

Tip up fishing tip #1 do not pull the line in so fast. Take your time fighting the fish, especially if it is large. When you yank them through the hole quick the hook can easily catch the corner of the ice and pop out. #2 do not hold the excess line in hand as you pull in fish, simply lay it on the ice (slow speed again helps you lay it properly) and it won't get tangled. #3 a quick pop is sufficient with a trebble hook, you don't need to yank it with all your might or you'll rip the hook out no matter what. #4 always make sure to let the fish run until it stops (often fish will run with the minnow until they feel safe then turn it around head first and eat it). If you wanna get some big bass and huge perch or bluegill through the ice in ny hit me up, I've learned all this from first hand experience over the last 10 years.

I want you to encourage matt to keep doing dangerous rock climbs like a few videos back. Keep egging him on until you find a cliff that is way too dangerous for anybody to attempt and tell him, "if you don't climb this you are a failure, just like your fatha" and make sure you get it on video when a rock gives way and he plummets 36 feet onto the top of his fragile little skull .

Using jigging spoons with minnow head on the hook will get you some nice perch, I always get big ones by just using them.

I’ve never been ice fishing. I live in California so it barely ever gets below 50 degrees. You can still catch a load of mackerel out in the salt water though, they’re fun.

Here some tips 1rod 1. Get shiners if ur going fishing ghere again or somewhere else because the fish are feeding right nkw because of how cold it is 2. If ur fishing in cold weather u should buy a mr.buddy heater bcause it really keeps u warm 3. Set ur tip uos in transitional bottom like a transition from rock to sand or sand to weeds or rock to weeds because those fish will hang in the weeds or the rocks or sand and wait for the fish to come out of the transitions and the pike or any preadator fish Hopefully that gave u an idea for the next vid and hope u can put it in the top comment for next vid 😊
