@Kazam K dude this particular performance wasn’t lip-synched. Didn’t you hear the two other men, playing their instruments onstage, sing the background parts of the song, which is normally sung by females? This was 1982. Lip syncing was frowned upon back then, especially during that scandal with that singing group, “Milli Vanilli,” back in the 80s.

Before Bill passed away he took us to his home and introduced us to his family, friends and old classmates in a documentary for the big screen called "Still Bill" 2010 (you can find it hidden away on You Tube but not for long). He talked about how badly the industry treated him and how he got out in time because he wanted to live a normal family life. It was believed that Bill secretly never wanted to give up being in the spotlight and it was eventually proven in this movie. His natural talent though unused for over 30 yrs was once again tested. He was a natural talent. An excellent writer and consummate performer with so many memorable hits and with royalties that would last a lifetime. Ever since his childhood he just wanted to be loved and accepted and he received the ultimate acceptance when he was inducted into the 2015 Rock and Roll hall of fame, one of the greatest honors bestowed upon a senior performer! Kudos to you Bill. You made your mark in this world and it's something so many of us are still struggling to do before we ascend to the heavens. Just seeing your smiling face after all of the wonderful accolades was enough to believe that there truly is a God and he shined his glorious bright light upon you. Rest in peace Sir Bill. 👏

What an amazing collaboration of such talented musicians and of course the incomparable Bill Withers. I didn’t have the good fortune to purchase the LP version of this instrumentation. But I did buy the LP known as “WineLight“ by Grover Washington JR. (God rest his soul I surely miss Grover) I was in high school when I heard this track - I could not stop playing it! “just the 2 of us” remains one of my top 10 favorite songs. I heard a rare an intimate interview with Bill Withers on a podcast. Bill is a very humble and unpretentious singer. He’s not impressed with his voice or musicianship and yet Bill has an incredibly soulful, earthy, magnetic vocal tone! Fun fact: Bill has a daughter who is also a wonderful musical talent.

Bill was the man. The world needs him right now. I need him right now. Man, I'm just beat down right now. Music is all that's keeping me a float

I see the crystal raindrops fall And the beauty of it all Is when the sun comes shining through To make those rainbows in my mind When I think of you sometime And I wanna spend some time with you Just the two of us We can make it if we try Just the two of us (Just the two of us) Just the two of us Building castles in the sky Just the two of us You and I We look for love, no time for tears Wasted water's all that is And it don't make no flowers grow Good things might come to those who wait Not for those who wait too late We gotta go for all we know Just the two of us We can make it if we try Just the two of us (Just the two of us) Just the two of us Building them castles in the sky Just the two of us You and I I hear the crystal raindrops fall On the window down the hall And it becomes the morning dew And darling when the morning comes And I see the morning sun I wanna be the one with you Just the two of us
