The train restaurant offers much more than sandwiches. You can have full meal prepared on board. A soup, pork, beef, chicken, dumplings, etc. It is much more than a café or a sandwich shop. You can order your meal in a restaurant car or via dedicated app. It can be delivered to your seat. Fist class passengers have a small appetizer included in the ticket price (there is a small selection to chose from). Everyone get a free drink.

Since many years, I find onboard food in Polish trains very satisfying. The menu is quite diverse and you can always find something that suits you. Eating in the onboard restaurant is a nice experience, and if you prefer to not leave your seat, they will deliver the food. The best thing if you are travelling somewhere far or very early in the morning (yes, breakfasts are very good too). If you buy tickets in advance, you can get really good prices - like 49 PLN for 2nd class and 119 PLN for first class (on Kraków-Warszawa route). First class isn't extremely expensive - unless you are a student/senior citizen or belong to any group qualifying for discounts, because there are absolutely NO discounts) Thanks for the video, have a nice day! 😊

@enj74003 ай бұрын
Yeah this is why im not a fan of pendolino. There are polish companies that can make similar trains. Imo pendolino is some sort of a propaganda. It looks nice, everyone knows what pendolino is but without tilting ability this is just a show. It would be ok if we had specially designed infrastructure that could make up for the lack of this ability. But in reality we dont have both so we cant really use its full potential

@@vindima6482 'Poland lived the soviet era very well'? I don't know where did you take such fake from. Well, soviet occupation until 1939-1956 (with a break for German occupation) - when the Stalin's palace was built as a propaganda gift - and later a constant extorting presence of the soviet army units plus supporting a local dictatorship, dependent on USSR.

If I told you that Brazilians came out of caves and Argentines came to America by ship, how would you feel? If I said that in South America societies are very poorly developed, at the level of African tribes, is that why constitutional systems collapse every now and then and military juntas come to power every decade? This is not a high-speed train. It has the look of one and in Italy where it was built it does reach the speed you’d call high for a train e.g. ~300 km/h. In Poland where the rail infrastructure doesn’t allow anything near these values it runs at pretty much the same speed as other intercity trains. In fact there are no real high-speed trains in Europe except for Spain, Italy and France.
@TRAVELZILLA3 ай бұрын
hey thanks for the comment. I had a great time riding this train, it was pretty cool, a very pleasent experience indeed. A lot of high speed trains often don´t reach their full speed and Poland does have issues with its infrastructure. Just 4 months ago I was in Italy on a high speed train and missed all tickets to tourist attractions because my journey took 5 hours to complete ( it as supposed to be a 2 h journey) how about that for a true high speed train? That has happened ultiple times in Italy and Spain. It has never happened in France, Belgium or the Netherlands where they do have real high speed trains too. Infra structure problems are all over Europe. The best high speed trains I've ever been to are the ones in Japan and China, but in Europe there are some good ones too ( TGV Thalys and the Eurostar). I've been riding the Eurostar for over 25 years and for most of the way it doesn´t go full speed. Poland's high speed train does a good job and it definitely goes faster than an intercity train. In regards to true high speed trains soon Portugal is going to join this list with high speed trains linking Porto to Lisbon in 1.2 h and Lisbon to Madrid in 3 hours. 🙂
@leonidasse3 ай бұрын
@@TRAVELZILLA great news for Portugal. Punctuality issues across EU is another topic. The problem is the dated rail infrastructure in Poland prevents the pendolinos from reaching their nominal speed no matter what. The general opinion among Poles is that buying them was a waste of public money since it was known from the beginning these would be no high-speed trains anyway. And they are not. Instead, it’s generally regarded that investing in cheaper but upgraded carriages of domestic production would have been a much better solution. First the high-speed rail lines ➡️ then the bullet trains investment. In Poland and Czechia they chose the reverse order. Pointless.
@TRAVELZILLA3 ай бұрын
@@leonidasse hey man thanks for the explanation, and I agree with you. The same happens to the Alpha Pendular trains in Portugal, it is a "high speed train" when n reality is a mid-range speed not a true high speed, but the service was still great. I'd ride this train again and again, it was quite nice. Poland is going to become a huge economy soon and in no time you guys will have true high speed trains all over! In Portugal I love the pendular service, but it is far from perfect. The italian and Spanish services can get to the desired speeds, but in reality there are so many faults in these countries infrastructures that delays also compromise the high speed experience. It is what it is. I did my best to make a good video and to us tourists this currently is Poland's high speed train and most enjoy ridding it! :-)
