I’m so glad I decided to start taking lessons. I’m 34 and wish I would have started years ago. It’s such a solid mental, physical and spiritual workout, and I’ve noticed a more positive change in attitude. I tried following along to these videos and doing it myself which didn’t help much, having a real Shihan to learn from is making all the difference in the world. I don’t know any of you people but I’m guessing there’s a whole lot of good people reading this. Keep up the hard work guys! Just remember to practise the following: Stomach level punch Head level punch Forward punch Side back fist Short punch Rising elbow strike Round elbow strike Head level block Inside hooking block Outside block Groin sweeping block Downward block Long fighting stance Horse riding stance Sumo stance and finally front kick. Hi to all. A good point, is to pay attention to all your moves with the correct time whenever you shoot a punch or a block, start always with all your body from a relaxed status to end when you strike with all the muscles in your body completely contracts. Repeat each technique with the same procedure and so on until the end of the Kata. Good luck!

This moveset is a special memory for me. One of the first things I learnt in karate training and my sensei was great. I stopped after orange belt as I wasn't fit enough to keep up and school has swallowed any time I have. But every so so, when I get excercise time, I try this. A good base skill and good exercise

If you notice, this guy is looking over the opposite shoulder from the direction he is going to turn. I've studied Isshin Ryu, Shorin Ryu, Okinawa Kenpo, Tang Soo Do, and now Shotokan, and in each one, I was taught to look in the direction you are turning.

I learned my full kata after 3rd lesson mate i don't why you are grading if you don't know the kata yet you should know that in your sleep before you can grade. I think your dojo is selling belts.

After taking years of does Japanese karate Shotokan I have noticed so many people there improper Kata stands, as this is the most perfect Kata I've ever experienced. Especially in his punches moving punch and the way he hold up his fist. I've seen numerous black belts whose technique were so improper.

*bow* si si, claro well chadul-beg-ee is sort of a brisket and if you like sweet rather than savory, I _really_ recommend the galbi, usually or traditionally a short-rib but we have chicken (pollo) galbi and of course san-gyup saal is just an uncured (sin sal) bacon or pork belly, pahn-cchan is just a word for appetizer, of course of course...so-mack is just soju (rice wine) mixed with mack-joo or beer and of course soju, by itself is sort of a weak vodka, rice wine, uh huh uh *bows* ddang I miss Terry, KristeN

I think the mans hand is too high when he is punching. It’s supposed to be Chudan belly height he is is punching shoulder height. Me to. I did karate with my dad when I lived in Okinawa. I was seven when I started and had to stop at ten when I moved. I got to green belt. I have 3 belts but they are feom different dojos. I have my white and green belt from the first and my blue belt from the second. I have 3 stripes on the white belt.

I received my purple belt at a young age, moved onto jujitsu, moved to a new city to continue and further training and hadn't stepped foot in a 10 years. main thing to remember is not to move up and down too much when you're moving forwards. Also not leaning too far forwards when moving backwards. Staying upright in your posture is one of the keys. I have red belt in GKR, they pulled me up for this going to green.
