I decided to document my first month living in Washington, D.C., and I'm so glad I did. Life is so beautiful and full of so much good -- even if the good is sometimes difficult. I'm learning to do things afraid and to learn lessons that I didn't ask to learn. Washington, D.C. has always been my favorite city. Check out the process of me making it my home!

I'm about to move to D.C. in a month for school (attending American University) and I'm so nervous/anxious, but excited at the same time. I've been in California my whole life, and I'm looking forward to starting a new adventure.

You are courageous to move across states! Why did you leave Florida to DC? It doesn't snow in FL, and the cost of living in FL is relatively lower

Aidan Au I wanted a change! I lived in FL for a long time and didn’t want to make life decisions based on cost of living or anything like that. I’ve never lived in a major city before (outside LA was the closest I’ve ever gotten), and DC has always been a city I loved!

Very easy to get around! The metro is a breeze (when it's working) and I use the VIA app instead of Uber because it's 1/2 the price. U Street has the best restaurants! You can't go wrong!

Not to be too nitpicky, but when you were walking with your groceries saying you were going home, you were way up Connecticut Ave, like Friendship Heights area. Later in the video you're by the monuments and say you live right around the corner, can't fool me!

You can keep your pity. Being a city girl was my choice, and it was the best decision of my life! I didn't have to move here for work or for school. It was 100% my decision. I would never judge your life decisions, please don't judge anyone else's from the safety behind a computer screen. :)
