Many of the songs were written by Duff. All members of the band got writting credits so they weren't screwed over by management but Axl didn't write many songs from scratch. Thankfully he could sing them like he did write them.

"Street of Dreams" is dope, "Catcher in the Rye" and the titular track as well "Chinese Democracy". Keep up all the awesome work guys! Edit: Btw, Buckethead on lead guitar here! Axl Rose and Dizzy Reed are pretty much the only original members on that album "Chinese Democracy," which came out in November 2008 after 14 years in production. Slash had already left in 1996, Matt Sorum in '97, and Duff McKagan in '98. Steven Adler was fired in 1990, and Izzy Stradlin quit in '91. Not to mention Gilby Clarke no longer became involved by '94. In 2016, Slash and Duff reunited with Axl and are still out on the road for their "Not In This Lifetime" Tour. I gotta admit, while Slash is certainly no Buckethead, he does put interesting spins as far as the guitar arrangements whenever they would play this song live nowadays :)

The band has been falling apart for a long time in this era, so it’s practically not even a GN’R album. Of the original members, only Axl Rose remained, who in a filthy way, by all sorts of legal means, made himself Guns N 'Roses himself. However, the fact is that ‘Better’ is the best on this record! Then ‘This I Love’ I think is brilliant. (I recommend for your attention) and the title track ‘Chinese Democracy’ is also good. However, Better’s solo is really so good that Slash never plays a song they didn’t write together, but that’s an exceptional one. Now that the guys are pushing the ‘Not In This Lifetime Tour’ is something brilliant when Slash presents this theme! Great reaction again guys, thx! 👌🏾✌🏻

These are ok, but far from the band's best. "Appetite for Destruction" is solid from start to finish. Off "Use Your Illusion", I like a lot of the deep cuts: "Double Talkin' Jive", "The Garden", "Don't Damn Me", "Dead Horse", "Estranged" and "Locomotive".

'Breakdown' came from the 1991 "Use your illusion Pt. II' album... by that point, Matt Sorum was brought in after original drummer Steven Adler was fired...so the drums sounded different from the 1st album. Dizzy Reed and Axl Rose both added piano & keys in the studio. Slash on lead guitar, Duff McKagan on bass & Izzy Stradlin on rhythm guitar from the original GNR were still there until the band imploded by 1996...
