*First:* They have musicians. They are not very prominent in this music video but if you are a little bit attentive you can get a glimpse of them *Second:* This video has live footage from two shows (one at the Forum in L.A.) with audio from the studio track. But you will find easily propper live footage of BABYMETAL. Some facts about them: BABYMETAL are around since 2010 when the three girls were 11 and 12 years old. They originally were part of the school-themed idol-project Sakura Gakuin (Cherry Blossom Academy) but they parted from SG in 2013 to become an independent act. Back then the band mainly consisted of three girls: Suzuka Nakamoto (aka. SU-METAL, lead vocals) Yui Mizuno (aka. YUIMETAL, backing vocals and dance) and Moa Kikuchi (aka. MOAMETAL, backing vocals and dance) complemented by a bunch of stellar musicians called Kami-Band (Band of Gods) at their live performances. They already have five albums out: *BABYMETAL*, rel. 2014 (studio album) *Live at Budokan - Red Night Apocalypse*, rel. 2014 (live album) *Metal Resistance*, rel. 2016 (studio album) *Live at Wembley*, rel. 2016 (live album) *Metal Galaxy*, rel. 2019 (studio album) They also have several live recorded shows out on DVD/Blu-Ray which is a good thing because, believe it or not, they are one of the best live bands out there (which earned them many best-live-act-awards). They also never get boring because of their diversity in music styles. Regardless they always manage to stay recognizable. Unfortunately, Mikio Fujioka (their lead guitarist) died from an accident in January 2018 and Yui Mizuno left BABYMETAL in fall 2018 because of health reasons. But despite all that, the band is going strong and achieved, as first Asian act ever, a number one notation at the billboard rock charts with their recently released album "Metal Galaxy". For your next BABYMETAL-reaction (if you want to continue your journey) I recommend *"Ijime, Dame, Zettai"* live at Sonisphere 2014 in the UK: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iKCQkJaYm8mlj6c You will have real live footage plus the musicians and a wild crowd. You have my word!

They have a proper band behind them called the Kami Band (God Band), consisting of several rotating members, but the main 4 are Takayoshi Ohmura and Leda Cygnus on guitars, BOH on bass and Hideki Aoyama on drums. Tak Matsumoto didn't play live with the band (yet), so for the performance shown in the video the Kamis took care of guitar duties. Obviously, the audio on this video is the album audio.

The backing band issue might need some explanation: When BABYMETAL were born in 2010 by splintering off an idol group called Sakura Gakuin, it was just the three girls singing and dancing to backing tracks of the music, while a fake band on stage was miming playing the instruments (BTW, the girls were 10-12 at the time). It wasn't long until they started playing with a real band, made up of some of the best session musicians Japan's Metal scene has to offer. They were clad in white robes and facepaint and meant to pretty much stay anonymously in the background. But it didn't take the fans long to find out their identities, and quickly they were widely accepted as an integral part of the band (although there wasn't a fixed setup, there were around 10 musicians on rotation). Their management must have noticed that and started to give them some more spotlight with instrumental solo spots during the shows etc. Unfortunately, in the last one or two years they seem to be backpaddling a bit. The facepaint has been replaced with even more anonymous masks, and they have been moved more to the background again. For the American leg of this year's tour they were replaced with American musicians. If you look closely, you can see them in this video in the background on the left and right. Personally, I don't understand this decision and I would appreciate if they were treated more like a part of the band and with the respect they deserve. BABYMETAL are calling their genre Kawaii Metal, which means Cute Metal. They combine J-Pop with various kinds of Metal, often also incorporating other genres as well. You'll find EDM, Hip Hop, Reggae, Ska, Waltz, Dubstep and other influences in their catalogue. Their latest album Metal Galaxy, released in October, is once again an insane collection of different tunes, taking cues from music from all around the planet. Some is more on the heavy side, some more on the poppy side, but it's always fused perfectly, creating the most satisfying, uplifting and quite frankly, enjoyable music I have ever heard. It's not for everyone, of course, and they do get a lot of hate (mostly from Metal elitists), but if you are open to their new ways, you are in for heaps of pure fun. And as you have seen, their live shows are awesome, too. The energy is always insane, the stages elaborate, the dancing on point, and Su (the main singer) rules the stage with her presence and voice. And the passionate crowds deserve a mention, too. If you'd like to see more of the awesome backing band, try "Road of Resistance" (kzbin.info/www/bejne/sIWoioh8nLGpm7s) or "Rondo of Nightmare" (kzbin.info/www/bejne/h6m8cpZ_rtBledE).

Hi Dirty 10! As others have already said, the group does have a band (known as the Kami Band). They have two groups: the primary group is Ohmaru and Cygnus on guitars, Bohte on bass, and Hideki on drums, and the second group is Chris and C.J. on guitar, Clint on bass, and Anthony on drums. The primary group have their own band known as the Kari Band while the Chris, CJ, and Clint play for Galatic Empire, and Anthony plays for Shadow of Intent. Tak was guest guitar player for this track, though he wasn't at the concerts. The group just finished their U.S. tour last fall, which they finished by headlining the Forum in LA. They are about to begin their European tour in February. I am very happy that you like the band. I would recommend Road of Resistance or Karate next!

The "baby" was intended to indicate a new form of metal and is not a reference to the girls ages (they are adult women now). It is also a bit of a pun in Japanese. "Heavy metal" has been borrowed into Japanese from English and can be written as hebīmetaru in romanized Japanese. Japanese lacks V and L so B and R respectively are usually substituted. Babymetal can be written as bebīmetaru. Both terms are usually written in katakana, the script used for foreign words, heavy metal is ヘビーメタル and Babymetal is ベビーメタル. Just a difference of two dots on the first character.

Other songs to watch are : 1. Road of Resistance Live in Japan - Epic in every way 2. Legend of 1997 Head Banger - song about a 15 yr old girl going to her first head banger concert 3. Karate The Official Video - a work of art 4. Pa Pa Ya! feat. F. Hero - after a rough year the girls storm back with stunning live performance Others will suggest more. Tak Matsumoto is known as the Steve Vai of Japan. They do have a band, and you can see them briefly in a few shots. When you see them at a normal venue, the band is more present. I saw them in the Forum, some of the shots here are from that, and with the big stage and effects the band fades to the background a bit. Everything is such a sensory overload. But it's really a Pink Floyd vibe. The musicians stand still and you are mesmerized by the stage show and music

So, this video is a compilation video of some of their most recent tour dates, including a bit of footage from their arena show at the L.A. Forum. They do have a live backing band called the Kami Band, you just couldn't see them most of time in this video because the girls were on a raised moving platform. The girls are the focus of the band as a whole though. At any rate, check out their new album Metal Galaxy. In typical Babymetal fashion, it has a very distinctive and diverse sound, and they draw upon all sorts of metal sub-genres and other musical influences on it - honestly it's one of my favorite albums from 2019. Other official videos from Metal Galaxy are on KZbin, including videos for Distortion, Pa Pa Ya, and Shanti Shanti Shanti. Any Babymetal fan will tell you though that their live stuff is the stuff you really want to see though. If you want to see what they are capable of, check out their "Road of Resistance Live in Japan" clip, and their Legend 1997 - Babymetal Death and "Headbangeeeeer!! clips.

They have actually been around longer than many bands, starting at a very young age, which is amazing to consider. I hope you continue your BM journey! Your first impression is not unusual; trying to put together death metal and J-Pop in your head can be hard to get used to, which is the point, as a matter of fact. The discord it creates in your head makes you remember them and makes you want to come back to sample them again - it's brilliant marketing.

Thanks for choosing to react to BABYMETAL, they're amazing! As someone who is new to the group, I thought I'd give you and your followers a little background on them. BABYMETAL is a Japanese Kawaii Metal group consisting of (for the most part) SU-METAL on lead vocals, YUIMETAL and MOAMETAL on backing vocals/dancing, or "SCREAM AND DANCE" as they like to call it. I say 'for the most part' as Yui & Moa have a few songs that they do as duets without Su and Su has a few songs she does as solos whilst Yui & Moa take a well deserved break. They were formed in 2010 as part of the idol group Sakura Gakuin, before touring on their own in 2011 and have gone from strength to strength. They started singing to backing tracks with actors in skeleton suits pretending to play instruments (known as BABYBONES) but soon incorporated the Kami Band into their concerts, bringing them in full time at the end of 2013. The Kami Band consists of some of Japan's premier musicians on rotation based on availability. The most popular configuration consisting of Takayoshi Ohmura and Mikio Fujioka on guitar with Leda Cygnus as stand-in, BOH on bass and Aoyama Hideki on drums. These are the people you will see most often in videos. Since the untimely passing of Mikio at the end of 2017 they have enlisted the talents of Isao Fujita on guitar. At the end of 2018 YUIMETAL left the band because of health problems and in 2019 there are 3 girls named AVENGERS that will take her place in a rotating manner. Below is a list of some of their best performances that I hope you will consider for future reactions. Should you decide to do more BABYMETAL reactions in the future, you should be aware that KZbin will block almost all videos that incorporate audio. The best way round this is to mute the video and provide a link that we can open in a new window and sync with yours. Just give us a countdown before you start playing it. Tunes of BABYMETAL are influenced by nu-metal, metalcore, electronicore, and melodic speed metal, and sometimes rap metal, viking metal, Scandinavian black metal and ambient post-metal -- their concept is the fusion between pop songs and anything that is called "metal". DA DA DANCE is the fusion of heavy metal and EDM, especially Japanese style EDM that had been popular in early 1990's. They are paying homage to those Japanese EDM classics by the lyrics.

@randoomy15204 жыл бұрын
I don't think it's a threat or something. Maybe because of their masks that they seldom show them, and maybe also how Yui's departure and Mikio's death(RIP little god), they are slowly adjusting for now. Also the japanese kami are pretty busy with their own real band. I just hope that they'll remove the masks though. Btw, this is an MV version so they do not focus the bands much and the avengers, notice they only focus Su and Moa since they are the OG core BM.
