@@gingerroo123 Regurgitator is a wild Brisbane based band from the 90s, also The Toxic Garden Gnomes are insanely good.... Obviously The Birthday Party and The Bad Seeds (both Nick Cave fronted, but the Birthday Party years he was fresh out of Private School and yet somehow still Raucous Punk Poet.... Get back to me after that small rabbit hole....(btw That other commenter meant to type Powderfinger)

(YO)u have heard them live, and they put on a great show, but it’s well worth putting their studio recorded video clip on. There’s a sneaky surprise instrument and the film itself is brilliant. By all means react to it- maybe on another live stream? - but otherwise just crack a beer and enjoy it.

ARIA - Australian Recording Industry Association. Their award is our equivalent of the Grammys. Nobody has heard the original version of this song because nobody knows what the original is. Leadbelly was just another incarnation of the song. There was a golden era of about 10 years here where every festival had some combination of Spiderbait, Regurgitator, Silverchair & Powderfinger. So good. Oh, massive props for the INXS reference. Best act of ours that ever got international success. Yes, better than AC/DC. I said what i said.
@michaelgoyettemusic Жыл бұрын
I played a festival with silver chair in 97…..didn’t meet them because they were too young to hang out with the other bands…..but Daniel and I shared a front row fan who screamed every time she looked at me (or Daniel) 😂 she had a sign for him though, no sign for me. 😢 😂 I also played with INXS but that’s a longer story. ❤️ Thanks for clarifying “association”. 🙏 ❤️ Is it sacrilege to prefer anyone to AC/DC?

@@michaelgoyettemusic so that would have been Jon Stevens, lead singer of Noiseworks in 2004 ish
@kane29842 Жыл бұрын
@@michaelgoyettemusic As above - Jon Stevens, great vocalist and Noiseworks was a great band as well with the recently departed Stuart Fraser on guitar. As for the rest of the band, I think their actual musical talent was criminally underrated. For obvious reasons Michael dominated, but they were tight as hell as a unit.
@BassMatt1972 Жыл бұрын
Australian Recording Industry Association (good guess..) Leadbelly was blues player in the 30s (said Ledbelly). You MUST hear the original, its grunge blues from the 1930s! Greasy Pop was actually a label here!! yeah the Bait is greasy rock... And Kram is a killer drummer. (Mark backwards)

I much prefer Ram Jam's version. People always associate the original version of Black Betty with Leadbelly. The original singer of Black Betty was in fact James (iron head) Baker.

@Buy_Me_A_Nightmare Жыл бұрын
@@michaelgoyettemusic Oh nice! I’ll take your word for it, Les Paul’s are a beautiful thing, I think I just associate them with a cleaner sound? Or maybe I just associate SG’s with a dirty sound. Having said all of that, my 17yr old son plays a Telecaster, and he manages to get grimy punk (think Deadboys, to Stones, Moonlight mile) out of it, maybe it’s more about the artist than the tool!
@michaelgoyettemusic Жыл бұрын
@@Buy_Me_A_Nightmare the sounds of SGs and Les Pauls are pretty close. They feel very different to play though…. Many short people play SGs because they are built to a smaller scale….easier to reach notes with small hands, and lighter weight too
