Angelina is the youngest published author in Norway. She wrote and her Grandmother illustrated a book about why she sings barefoot. She was on a trip to Iran where her grandmother is from and met a street girl weighing people for money. Angelina sat and talk with the girl. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, a Doctor but that it could never happen. Angelina told her to never give up hope. The girl complimented Angelina on her shoes and Angelina noticed her scarred bare feet so she gave them to her, and the little girl told Angelina she would pray for her every day. Angelina sings barefoot to remind the world that there are still children in need.

Yup, she put a spell on you. I wrote a bit about her in a comment on your first reaction but didn't cover a couple of questions you asked here. The guy she hands the paper to at the beginning is not her father. He is the leader of that very fine little jazz band, and he smiles because she just gave him what she politely calls her "wishes" for changes in the arrangement. Yes, English is her third language, after Norwegian, Persian/Iranian/Farsi, with maybe a little bit of Japanese and Swedish, I should imagine. I'm not aware of any other musical talent in her family, but her grandmother is quite gifted creatively. She is an accomplished painter, poet & author, and was herself a child prodigy. She is the woman at the door when Angelina enters the studio. There is always a family member nearby, so she is well and carefully protected. She is also protected from the vultures in the music industry. Her uncle/manager Michael Astar, seems to be very savvy about such things, and her parents want her to have as normal a childhood as possible. They have turned down offers from most of the big names in the business, including Disney. I think they are very wise. It will be most interesting to watch her progress over the next five or ten years.

She was playing old time jazz music when Angelina was very young.I'd guess at about 3-4 years old Angelina started to pick up the vibes from those records and fell in love with the harmonies and rhythms of Jazz. At 5 years old she was already browsing on youtube and listening to Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Louis Armstrong, Frank Sinatra and many more from that era.

She is writing her own songs (look for "Shield" "What is life" "Oslo"), but this one was not. "I Put A Spell On You" is an old Screaming Jay Hawkins song. Angelina wrote some last-minute changes of the arrangement and gave them to the musical director of that band. You see him smiling while reading it, especially because she - humble as she is - wrote it was her "wishes" for the arrangement. I think the most important musical influence was her grandma, who is a famous painter. English is Angelina's third language, Norwegian and Farsi being her first and second languages. She started singing jazz music at the age of 1,5 years old. At the age of 7 she took part in the "Norway's Got Talent" show and won it. Since then she is Norway's national treasure. She became known worldwide at the latest through her participation in "America's Got Talent - The Champions" 2019/2020.

Watched, enjoyed, both reviews, liked, subscribed. Gifted? She's immensely talented, appears to possess a strong work ethic, and was born into a nurturing environment. Her mother is her "Shield" (a song Angelina wrote about her and probably including superfan grandmother, accomplished Iranian artist, Mery Zamani). In an interview she recounts that she was singing in her cradle so her mother gave her a mic and tried to get her to sing, "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star"..nada. Mery put on "I Will Always Love You" and Angelina can be heard singing along to one line with Whitney! The words aren't very clear but she's in tune! At lot of us "Angels" will be commenting and I know that several have a link to this ready to post.

She had already won Norway’s Got Talent when she made this video, she was 7 when she auditioned and 8 when she won with 46% of the vote in the finals out of 10 acts. She has been arranging her own music since she was 8 or 9, and she also instructs the band on the arrangement. She’s the full package. You've only seen "baby" Angelina (9-10). She is 14 now & has grown into a 6 Ft tall young woman that looks like a Supermodel with the most beautiful voice I've ever heard & I've been listening for 7 decades. She was well known in Europe & Asia but not in America. She won her first talent show (Norway Got Talent) when she was 7 (some say 8), she went viral & began slowly building her fan base with views of her many songs. Simon Cowell tried to get her to participate in the first of the AGT-Champions, last year but she said no. This year he invited her again for the 2nd Champions show, & because she was working on a new album of all originals she decided to participate to gain some exposure in the American market. She decided to do Queen's iconic song Bohemian Rhapsody, but she had to cut the 6+ min song down to the 2 1/2 min time limit. No problem, that's what she does, takes old classic songs, re-interprets them to make them her own. Her audition of that song was epic, stunned the audience & judges & got the Golden Buzzer. I love seeing the confuse face of people reacting to this song :) Angelina channels the spirit of the singer on each song. How she does it defies explanation. She is one of a kind. Her low register is the best I've seen. Everybody else just talks when doing a low voice. Angelina sings. Enjoy the ride. I would recommend going back to the start instead, watching the first Norway's got talent audition when she was just seven. She was seven when she won, but the final was aired after she turned eight, if I am not mistaken
