Because Angelina is new to you and maybe some of your followers, here's a little bio on her... *Angelina Jordan* - Angelina Jordan was born Jan 10 2006 in Oslo, Norway. She is currently 13 (Barely 9 in this performance) - She began singing at the age of one and a half - At 2 or 3 she discovered Jazz through KZbin videos and started studying all the greats from Jazz history. - Angelina always sings barefoot..... When Angelina was 6, she was traveling with her grandmother and met a poor girl with no shoes trying to make money on the streets. The girl complimented her on her pretty shoes, so Angelina took them off and gave them to the girl. She made a vow to always sing barefoot until all the children of the world could have shoes. To this day, whenever Angelina is performing in public, she sings barefoot to remind us that there are less fortunate people in the world that could use our help. (that's a shortened version. the full story is more touching than the way I have told it here) - She has always been the driving force behind her own singing career. It was her that asked her mother to take her to Norways Got Talent, where she auditioned at 7 years old and went on to win the show at just 8 years old. - In an interview after the show, when asked what she was going to do with the prize money, the 8 year old replied, "I would like to give it to orphans that need clothes and shoes" - The reason you may not have heard of her is because her parents are very protective of her childhood. They do not want her to be thrust into stardom before she has a chance to grow up as a normal child, and finish her education. They allow her to do a few select shows (mainly private and charity events) with a couple public shows every year when she is out of school. Her mother said in an interview that they have turned down 90% of the offers that come in. I have heard they have turned down offers from many major record labels and even disney. - Angelina has covered more than 100 songs over the last 6 years. She always selects the songs herself... everything ranging from old classic jazz to modern pop. She is able to change her voice to match any song she sings and make it her own. (she can cover Amy Winehouse and Lana del Rey like nobody else) - Angelina has collaborated with some very big names over the last few years... Quincy Jones, Mark Ronson, David Foster, and many more. All of which heard her covering their songs and were blown away by her talent. - Angelina has written three of her own original songs: "What is Life", "Shield" and "Oslo". (all are amazing...all can be found on youtube) In summary, Angelina Jordan is destined to be one of the greatest singers to have ever lived. This is just my opinion, but if you listen closely to any of her stuff you will hear the greatness. She sings with a natural style. There is no acting, no showing off, there are no unnecessary runs, or big belty notes just for the purpose of saying "hey look at me sing". She once said "when I sing I go into a magical world in my head", and you can always hear the results of that. When Angelina sings it is pure soul, pure emotion, pure music.

You already have 70 comments about your reaction, so I will be brief. As others have commented, listening to Angelina perform is an emotional experience in itself. In an imaginative moment I likened Angelina to a chameleon, inasmuch as a chameleon adapts its colour to blend with the surroundings, so Angelina adapts the "colour" of her voice to convey the emotions of the song and communicate those emotions to the listener. People don't need drugs, just listen to Angelina's velvet voice, and your shoulders lower ... She can change her voice depending on what song she sings. Hi Frank, a new subscriber here. Angelina won Norway's Got Talent at 8 yrs. old. She is nine here. If you watch the beginning again you see her writing notes on some sheet music, then you see the conductor reading them and smiling. That is because this treasure from heaven, has very definite ideas about how the song should and will go. I really implore you to see her first audition for the Norway Talent thing. She sings,' I'm A Fool To Want You' a cappella, at 7 yrs. old. If you think the song you just heard is a mind blower, this will remove the cranium. She is a musical genius. Since that appearance on the talent show she has sung around the world. She was even a part of Quincy Jones' 80th birthday tribute because of her love of the old jazz and blues standards. I have never seen or heard heard the slightest fear in any of her performances. I have never heard her sing a wrong or 'sour' note. As she has gotten older she has reached for a wider range and some of the upper notes start to fray a bit. But never in a performance. She is one of a kind and as genuine as they come. Oh, if you read this try watching another young prodigy, Daneliya Tuleshova from Kazakhstan where Dimash is from. If you haven't heard of Dimash then brother you have some life experiences ahead of you.

She really goes all out in I Putt A Spell On You, but luckily she usually does not put this kind of strain on her vocals and when she perform I Putt A Spell On You live she do not growl and scream like this. I am not sure if anyone has commented about this, so I will do so. As you say Angelina is very confident among all this established musicians, one reason for this might be that it was Angelina herself that made the musical arrangements. She is known for coming to practice with her hand written arrangements and handing them out, she makes all the arrangements when she is accompanied by an assemble. She plays guitar, harp, piano, the flute, and English are her third languish after Norwegian and Persian. She is really, really impressive. I am looking forward too many more for Angelina Jordan reactions and also, I hope, in time, that you will react to the magical Aurora. I suggest you react to Aurora singing her song Runaway at The 2015 Nobel Peace Prize Concert, she wrote the song in one hour when she was eleven years old. She looks really young when she performed at The 2015 Nobel Peace Prize Concert, but she was nineteen years old. Lebanese? I have never heard Angelina speak Lebanese. Angelina lived in USA when she was very young. Her father worked on an oil rig in the Gulf. Angelina actually spoke better English than Norwegian when she was 4-5 years old. There is a video of her on KZbin from that time speaking about her toys in very good English. She spoke Norwegian with a small accent at that time. Even later she spoke Norwegian sometimes with an English sentence syntax even though the accent was gone. She moved to LA in March last year going to school there. Her Norwegian is very good now, but her English even better. I would say English is her first language now and Norwegian a close second. Swedish is third because her father is Swedish. Angelina's mother is Norwegian with an Iranian / Italian mother and Japanese father. Angelina's father is Swedish. I have never heard her speak Swedish, but she sometimes picked Swedish words instead of Norwegian when she spoke Norwegian as a kid. So Angelina is truly international being influenced by different cultures. I think that is a blessing for her. Her grandmother is a professional artist and must have influenced Angelina a lot. Her uncle is her manager and her mother travels with her to all concerts making videos of her rehearsals and performances for a personal archive. Quite a few are posted on her KZbin or Instagram channels. So we are in a unique situation we can follow her from a child into a superstar. Angelina sang for Quincy Jones' 85 year birthday at London O2 last year. Quincy said Angelina is the biggest music talent he has seen since Michael Jackson.

@@THEVOCALLEXICON Yes and no. She takes lessons for all those instruments, but rarely plays when she is singing. One time I've seen her play the piano while making a cover video. Usually she sings with a band or her regular guitarists Egil Clausen in Oslo and Ivan Mendez in LA. On some covers she sings to a prerecorded instrumental. One song I recommend you check out is Nico Cartosio's "Song For A". It's a classical romantic song he wrote specifically for Angelina. Angelina has published 3 original song which are all worth listening to "What Is life", "Oslo" and "Shield". She has written more songs which will be on her next album. A good thing about Angelina is that she wants to help people rediscover the great songs from way back. Especially Jazz and Blues songs. So you hear her singing Billie Holliday, Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone, Elvis, Patsy Cline, Frank Sinatra, Shirley Bassey etc. It's so nice hearing those long forgotten songs performed in an amazing way by Angelina.

Great reaction. I'm always happy when new reactors discover her for the first time. I first discovered Angelina Jordan Astar when she first participated in Norway's got talent 2014, when she was 7 and 8 years old. She is 14 now. She was 9 in this video, which we are just now seeing in the last 4 months I think. And she WON Norway's Got Talent in 2014, 2 years prior to this video. Her Parents and surrounding "guardians" are taking VERY GOOD CARE of her. Thank you to all of those people that are responsible for that.
