What an amazing LIVE singing voice. The voice pitch and intonation live, is so surreal. You would think it is a recorded studio session.

===============================================================================
December 24, 1975. London’s Hammersmith Odeon. Onstage at this legendary venue, the four members of Queen are bringing to a close a ground-breaking show, transmitted live on BBC TV, and also bringing to a climax the most eventful and exciting year in their careers so far - one that has taken them from the UK to America to Japan, sealing their transition from ambitious upstarts into one of the biggest and most important bands of the era - and beyond.
Forty years later, this groundbreaking show officially takes to the World Stage. On November 20, Queen - A Night At The Odeon - Hammersmith 1975 is released on CD, DVD, SD Blu-Ray, 2 LP vinyl, Super Deluxe Box Set and digitally through Virgin EMI. As well as a live recording of this legendary gig, the packages also include extra-special bonus features for the Queen fans. Featuring 15 tracks from their first four visionary albums, plus covers of four classic rock’n’roll staples delivered with characteristic panache, A Night At The Odeon - Hammersmith 1975 captures a band in full flight and radiating megawatts of self-confidence.
Their latest single Bohemian Rhapsody - universally hailed as one of the most ground-breaking ‘pop’ songs ever released - was in the middle of its record-breaking nine week run at Number One in the UK charts. Their fourth album, A Night At The Opera (the most expensive record ever made to that point) found Queen’s grandiose vision coalescing into a breathtaking set of songs and ushered the band into a seat at rock’s top table (just three days after the concert, A Night At The Opera reached the top of the UK album charts).
The Christmas Eve show was the climax of the 26-date ‘Queen Invite You To A Night At The Opera Tour’, which had begun mid-November and had already seen the band play four nights at the same venue a month earlier. Melody Maker magazine had trumpeted the tour with the words “Britain’s most regal band await your presence”, and the reviews of the previous shows had been ecstatic. By the time the band returned to Hammersmith on Christmas Eve, they were truly firing on all cylinders. No expense had been spared, from the stellar light show which lent a spectacular visual element to the night’s proceedings to the suitably lavish white Bechstein grand piano which had been hired especially for this show. Nor had the band themselves overlooked the finer sartorial details. Freddie Mercury sported two different satin cat suits - one black one white - during the show, designed by Wendy deSmet with the singer’s input. Similarly, Freddie had painted the nails of his left hand black for the occasion, while Brian May had his (at the time) trademark white nails.
With the issue of A Night At The Odeon this legendary show has finally been given the pedestal it deserves, delivered in fitting style, featuring an incredible new audio mix in stereo and 5.1 surround-sound plus an absolute state-of-the-art restoration of the video. As well as audio and visual footage of the gig, the DVD and SD Blu-Ray versions feature two special bonus features - 'Looking Back At The Odeon’, a brand new 22-minute documentary featuring a previously unseen interview with Brian May and Roger Taylor by Old Grey Whistle Test presenter Bob Harris about the 1975 Hammersmith Odeon show, plus the rarely seen Live At The Budokan - Japan 1975 footage, featuring three songs (Now I'm Here, Killer Queen and In The Lap Of The Gods… Revisited) recorded during their legendary tour of the Far East. The Super Deluxe Boxed Set also includes a never-before-heard recording from the pre-show soundcheck - something that no one outside of the band themselves knew existed until now.

Beautiful, mystifying song! Queen never disappoints! Thats why they stand the test of time: their pure talent, they all brought something to the table and they all wrote number one hits! In case your wondering about the champagne glass in Freddie's hand, this was a televised Christmas Eve concert and just before he started singing the song, he gave a special toast to the audience. Freddie would give a toast to the audience in general on occasion. What I love best about Queen's early works is how they explored fantasy and mythological themed type of subjects. Alongside the loving from afar motif, guitarist Brian May found inspiration for White Queen from an archetype/mythology book he was reading at the time called "The White Goddess" by Robert Graves.

Freddie played the piano often on stage. It was only the last few tours when he played less and had another guy playing piano. I feel that Freddie's percussive piano playing added so much to their music. That tight bass, drum and piano rhythm was the foundation of the Queen sound.

This whole new Reaction Video channels has become an obsession of mine and I absolutely LOVE watching New people experience great music and find so much joy in their reactions when they realize what they have been missing for whatever reason. To me, music has NO color or ethnic background, you either gravitate towards it and love it or can At least appreciate it or you hate it. Another fantastic reaction, two in one day! Thank you, for reacting to my request! Queen often sounded better live then in the studio. They were voted as the best live band in the 70's and 80's by the British public. Your reactions are really in-dept, and I like how you took the time to stop and listen again. It is good how you noticed every element of the song. I would just say that the piano is important in the song, Freddie was playing the melody he wasn't just playing keys. It is duel between the piano and the guitar. With the drums and bass adding their important fills. This is one of those song where the whole band is really working and playing together. If you are looking for more great and interesting performances, and perhaps something quite different. I would suggest Liar live in London 1977 kzbin.info/www/bejne/mXvZgGWhqr9oqtU , this another song where the whole band really works together and where everyone has a chance to shine! Another great performance from this same concert at the Hammersmith Odeon 1975, which is quite different, is Ogre Battle kzbin.info/www/bejne/a2aUmIV-aMl6e6c. I thought the piano solo was absolutely amazing in this and added a ton to the song. Of course, Brian's guitar is very loud so you couldn't hear the piano as well but it was absolutely magical communication between piano and guitar. As beautiful as the instruments were there's no comparison to Freddie Mercury's voice in making this song What it is. Stunning vocals of an Angel. Masterpiece of a song in general

@@HAP3SPEAKZ Oh, yeah - Save me at Montreal is great -- Brian starts on keys.. (I heard that he had his guitar in his LAP while playing) and the transition when he goes to guitar and Freddie takes over on piano is incredibly smooth -- another May song... Great Reaction. They were Live better than in the Studio. I don't know any artists that were Live better than their own Studio Versions where they had time to make a song Perfect. Queen topped their own perfectness xD It is no disrespect to Freddie when talking about the other band members. YOU HAVE TO Talk about the other band members and not just Freddie, I don't know how it came to your mind to say that I mean he is not the Leader of the band or something xD. This song is Written by Brian May the Lead Guitarist, As you may have noticed he had his Guitar Solo here but they only showed Freddie which is really sad. The Piano did actually do much because it was a Piano solo which sounds without the band members almost as good as with them. Same with the Guitar solo. They both had their solo's at once and that created that perfect instrumental. The special thing about this is that the Studio Version of white queen is so much different. It is only with an acoustic guitar or something and this is the exact opposite with NO acoustic and every other instrument, so this is a perfect example to say that they were better live than in the Studio. So I want to repeat, Give every band member the Love and not only Freddie, They were equally talented in their own rights. If you remember the Opera part in Bohemian Rhapsody, didn't you think about who did all the High Notes and sounded Like a Girl in that Part? it was the Drummer Roger Taylor. He can sing really high and is great at Drumming and singing at the same time while Drumming. John Deacon on bass is the most underrated one but he was really great at Writing songs. John deacon is the only one in the band who didn't sing but he actually sang VERY occasionally which means we could even count how often he sung because he didn't do it often. He didn't like his Voice and he also wasn't a Singer. Brian May the Lead Guitarist is one of the best guitarists in the World and has also build his guitar with his dad when he was 16 The Guitars name is the Red Special and there is no other Guitar that sounds like it (Brian is also a Singer). So you can even tell apart if it is the Red Special or an normal E Guitar. Please react to *Queen - Somebody To Love - HD Live - 1981 Montreal* that was such an great fantastic outstanding performance and there you also get to hear Brian and Roger singing in the Background. I want to remind you don't give only Freddie the love and do not not give him love. What I'm trying to say is give everyone the Love they deserve 😂 Oh yea I also wanted to say Freddie can also sing high which means the Drummer Roger Taylor and Freddie could both go really high and it sounds very angelic when they did that. Roger has also lead singing songs in Queen just as Brian and Freddie. So they all sang lead.

Thank you Ben. I did say in the video, @5:25 "no disrespect to Freddie, but the band do carry the song". Since the video kept focusing on Freddie. It's easy for a non Queen fan to interpret Freddie as the "leader". Just like how the film portrayed him. I only wished they recorded the performances from everyone in the band at the same time to match how the song jammed together. It would have certainly elevated the visual experience. Your song suggestion is on the list. I have a vast amount of work to catch up on. 🎵👍🏽

@@HAP3SPEAKZ Alright. The Movie was trash for most of Queen Fans I have to mention that. The reason is it is full of false Information and people who are new to Queen think it was really like that, and see it Happened again :( Yes The camera really should've pointed on everyone and not just Freddie. The Band often Carry The Songs so it is pretty normal. And yep Freddie is not The "Leader" He himself said it and he also didn't like being called Leader. I'm seeing foward to your reaction where you give everybody their Credit now that you know it :)

Yes Ben. Thanks, if you haven't already please do make sure you subscribe. I have a list of songs to get through before I get back around to Queen. But thus far, everything that has been recommended has been astonishing. This is real music, where you have us debating if the live version is better than the studio. Not sure if we can still say that about the current state of music these days.

HAP3SPEAKZ I see when you come to stop the video, and when its get overwhelming for you. Thats mean you are a really alive person. I can tell you, when you react on Sombody to love and you saw all the drink on Freddies piano, you say ohhh take away the beer, Yes it was one beer there. But he only get small drink on that, I that was most for the show. He was so afraid for his throut that whos look like beer are thea with honey, he loved that, it was warm wather, cold whater maybee Crystal shampagne ( his favorite alkohol ) the alkoholdrink was more in the -70’s, it is a clip on KZbin when he singing BoRaph drunk, but you cant see him. Thanks for your reaction to this - one of their greatest live performances.. Brian May song.. Freddie & Brian amazing interplay on guitar and keys - and of course Roger and John on drums and bass - story goes: Brian wrote this song about a girl in college that he "worshipped from afar" - but was too shy to speak to ... also, please react to any and all of the live songs from 1981 Toronto -
