Lyrics
I have sinned dear, Father
Father, I have sinned
Try and help me, Father
Won't you let me in? Liar
Oh nobody believes me, liar
Ooh, why don't you leave me alone?
Sire I have stolen, stolen many times
Raised my voice in anger
When I know I never should
Liar, oh everybody deceives me
Liar, ooh, why don't you leave me alone?
Liar, I have sailed the seas
Liar, from mars to mercury
Liar, I have drunk the wine
Liar, time after time
Liar, you're lying to me
Liar, you're lying to me
Father please forgive me
You know you'll never leave me
Please will you direct me in the right way
Liar liar liar liar
Liar that's what they keep calling me
Liar liar liar
Ooh, let me go
Listen, are you gonna listen?
Mama I'm gonna be your slave
All day long
Mama I'm gonna try behave
All day long
Mama I'm gonna be your slave
All day long
I'm gonna serve you 'til your dying day
All day long
I'm gonna keep you 'til your dying day
All day long
I'm gonna kneel down by your side and pray
All day long and pray
All day long and pray
All day long and pray
All day long, wow, all day long, wow
All day long, all day long, all day long
Yes, all day long, all day long, all day long, all day long, yeah
All day long, we have lift off, ow
All day long, all day long, all day long
Liar liar they never ever let you win
Liar liar everything you do is sin
Liar nobody believes you
Liar they bring you down before you begin
Ooh, now let me tell you this
So now you know you could be dead before they let you, uh

It was rather hard to hear the vocal range. If it had not been for the video that would have gone completely unnoticed. I did see it, but I decided to let the music continue. I did a lot of pausing and talking during the One Vision reaction though. I love how each member in THIS song show cased their ability with the instruments.

Just an FYI. Whenever you see Freddie shaking a tambourine his inner metronome also used it to keep the beat by repeatedly smashing the tambourine against his leg. Consequently, the next day his thigh would be purple with bruises. At the time he never realized how hard he was hitting himself because he was inside the music.

@@HAP3SPEAKZ It was Brian May who said Freddie had a continuously running metronome in his head. Which is why it's a bit amusing when Freddie says to the Montreal crowd "Do it to the beat" when the only beat was the one Freddie was hearing and feeling with his inner metronome. Finally, Roger and John came in to help the audience with the beat. :)

I have been a Queen fan since my high school days (late 70s) but never looked them up on youtube until this quarantine hit (I have many excuses, but seriously, what a fool!). I am deep down the bottomless rabbit hole now and it never gets boring. The quality of their live videos floors me. Reaction channels make it even more fun. Love your Queen playlist and I replay my favorites often. I also learn a lot from Queen fans in the comment sections. I have a lot of catching up to do. Back to reaction channels - it is a bit boring when a reactor listens and says "that was great" and nothing else. It is also very obvious when someone is reacting simply to get new subscribers and hits. Your reactions never feel that way, which is why I subscribed. I thought your comments in the One Vision doc were honest and pretty darn funny. Really enjoyed this one, too. 70s Queen is my current obsession. So creative, both in the studio and live. Knowing they were free to argue and challenge each other in the studio makes me appreciate every second of the final product even more.

Oh my gosh. This will take you awhile to go thru Queen KZbin !!!! So much good stuff there!!! I’m 64 and a high school senior when Killer Queen entered my ear canals and I have died everrrrrrrrrrr since!!!! Lots to catch up on - interviews, info, live performances (something NEVER available to see before YT). What we could’ve done with KZbin back in the 70s!!!!! I had to subscribe to Rolling Stone just to see a pic of Freddie back then!!!! (or Jim, Eric, Roger, Jimi, Pete, Mick, on and onnnnnnnn)

@@jodiwood5311 I used to visit the library periodical section to find magazine articles and pictures! No cable TV, just the same old programming day after day. Live music was everything, but we had to get to those venues. Saw some great concerts back then but was never able to see Queen. Their songs have always been part of my life's playlist, but you're right about the countless interviews, info, and live performances online. I still find new ones every day. Absolutely a-m-a-z-i-n-g! And a little heartbreaking because I was busy with little kids when Freddie passed and it was very sad, but I only knew what was said on the news. It's very hard for me to watch any music or interviews that took place after 1986, but I do it. And then I head back to the seventies performances and relive it all from the beginning. Very addicting!

LCB Exactly the same! Having 4 kids and working from 1980-90!! No time (or $$) for concerts. To travel to a Queen concert would have been Phoenix, Houston, LA, etc.), I DID see some greats (Elton, Clapton, Dylan, CSNY...even my husband saw Led Zep in 1973 where we live, but traveling to a concert? No way!! $$$$$ I became addicted to my records, then cassettes, then CDs. I had a full collection of Queen albums, but decided for space-sake, that I would junk the LPs when I replaced them with CDs!!!! Why why why? Now I die that I tossed a lot of my vinyls😫(still have some but not one Queen). Good luck catching up. After the movie came out in 2018, it renewed my interest to search all over KZbin for everything and re-watch or find stuff I hadn’t seen!!!! I don't think it was about his death, I think it was more about his struggle with his sexual identity. He was at odds with it himself, it was against his religious teachings, and his family's values. It was said in a couple of books that he would take Mary with him to visit his family and on at least one occasion his Mother asked him if he was still "up to his old tricks", evidently referring to the press reports of his boyfriends. He was very upset, and in tears by the time he got home that he wasn't able to have a pleasant visit without implied condemnation

@@HAP3SPEAKZ It is fluke, but there is another song also from Queen's first album that is an even bigger fluke when it came to predicting Freddie's death, also one he wrote himself. Here is the lyrics, "Great King Rat died today , Born on the twenty-first of May, Died syphilis forty-four on his birth of day." It is a kingly figure that dies from syphilis at 44 near his birth day. Freddie died at 45, from Aids, a month after his birthday. You should check out this song, it is an amazing song, the live at the Rainbow version is better then the studio version, The Great King Rat live at the Rainbow 1974, kzbin.info/www/bejne/pH-ngJSwm7eaZpo.

You said you can’t put Queen in a box which is correct, because their music crosses so many genres. For something different I thoroughly recommend Dreamer’s Ball live in Paris. Some people don’t realize Queens sense of humor. They are really some strange videos they made, because they hated to make videos.✨This song is from Freddie’s youth he was always getting into trouble at school. ( Makes sense Liar). Brian still has that outfit he’s wearing. He is the bands history keeper. He has Fred’s tour piano setting in a prominent space in his home. Thanks the reaction Hap3! This is actually a song from Queen's first album, this song was already written by Freddie perhaps somewhere in the late 60's. You made me chuckle when you said it was noisy at the start, yes this is the most hard rocking version of this song, which is why I love it! Most other versions are perhaps not as hard rocking as this one, and bit more melodic. It is really a song where everyone in the band has a chance to shine, even John has a bass solo. It is a clever song with a lot of different parts. Yes, Queen always stuck to their vision right to the very end. You should listen to this song from their last album, it is a more quiet progressive rock/ ballad, song kzbin.info/www/bejne/mGjOhpZrh8iAp8U. Funny thing is progressive rock bad Tool released a popular album recently, and this song has a very similar sound to that album. It is like practically 30 years apart. Their songs could be quite visionary at times. Queen never listen to any managers or record labels, they did whatever they wanted to do. It wasn't always successful their album Hot Space was not as successful as the rest of their albums, but were putting a lot of different genres of music together on the album. If you are wondering about the meaning of the song Liar, it is about rejection from society. It is someone confessing their sins to a priest, he is looking for acceptance from the church, but even after following the rules and confessing his sins, he is not accepted. He does the same with his family, he does everything his family wants like a slave, but he is still rejected. In the end he realizes that society would rather try to break you down, before they gave you chance. He ends with "you have to be dead before they let in".

This a surprising version for me (first time hearing it and still a great performance.) It’s good that in this video everyone in the band got to showcase their skills extensively and still took you on a journey. But I still prefer the less noisy performance of this song. To be honest I’m not a fan of heavy metal songs or whatever you call those songs that has lot of noisy screaming. That’s why I’m glad Queen songs are more melodious with their sounds even though they are capable of producing songs like what usually other metal bands do. BTW nice reaction as always. I always prefer watching reaction videos that know how to breakdown the song into details and doesn’t hesitate to share their own analysis. It’s because of content like this that I am able to discover new things from the song or performance. It’s like a blessing of new perspective that I enjoy pondering comparing it to mine. I would recommend for you to react to The Prophet Song for more fun Queen journey. 😊👍🏻

**Zenobia** Yes, I really don’t mind Queen’s metal sounding or hard rock sounding songs because I enjoy listening them when there are epic transitions happening .Though those list are not on my playlist but I still appreciate how they made and work with those kind of songs. Actually, I love rock songs in general except when they become too noisy. But for this “Liar” track, in the first part of the song there was a part where the guitar was quite loud and I was quite surprised because that was not the sound I was expecting for this track. Maybe I was used to hearing its less hard rock version that I grew to love then suddenly hearing this.😳 Well I did like how the performance continued in the middle and went through till the end. It’s still an epic performance than the one I’m used to hearing. But I’m just a sucker of storytelling when it comes to songs, whenever “Liar” is emphasized it stabs and I didn’t get stab in this version but the sounds definitely gave me the feels. As for The Prophet Song, as I have said before I’m a sucker of storytelling and listening to this song really brought me to Brian’s dream. You know what I mean? 😅 Edit: I just saw the Rainbow version of this song and loved Deacy’s screen time. 😍

The story goes the Freddie wrote Crazy Little Thing Called Love in 10 minutes while in the bathtub. Written as a tribute to Elvis after he had passed on. The official video is worth seeing. It’s got Freddie doing choreographed dancing and it’s just cool.

HAP3SPEAKZ Yes Freddie admitted to writing the song lyrically in 5-10 minutes. But it was Roger Taylor who later told people that Freddie had been lounging in the bath. 😂😂😂. It was also the first song Freddie every publicity played the guitar on. That can be seen as part of the 22 minute Live Aid Set in 1985.

In someone else's reaction to Liar, one of the commentors said it is speculated that there was a specific incident during Freddie's time away at Catholic boarding school that this song alludes to... Involving one of Freddie's male teachers and what was probably Freddie's first intimate encounter w an older adult man. Freddie had been doing great in school grade-wise; then apparently his grades suddenly dropped off and he left the school early to return home......?

I only prefer the studio version because in the end they go Like ''Liar liar they never ever let you win. Liar liar everything you do is sin. Liar, nobody believes you. Liar they bring you down before you begin'' So in the Studio Version in that part, Roger was Really Drumming a Rock Beat but on Live performances he didn't do that, he just played on his Tom Toms. But on John's part I always prefer Live because in the studio version Brian somehow takes John's spot with his Guitar sounds, live he wouldn't do that with his guitar and let John shine.
@ZENOBlAmusic
@ZENOBlAmusic 4 жыл бұрын
The studio version sounds outdated in my opinion with all of that cow bell. Also Queen's first album had a badly produced production on the drums that made the drums sound very tiny. Trident studio used a certain way to mic up their drums (every individual drum), Queen wanted to do it in different way, that gave the drums a harder banging sound. Queen wanted to do it in a more Led Zeppelin way where you record ambient drum sound in the room. The engineers told the band that it could be fixed post production, but it never sounded the way they wanted it to sound. They were still very inexperienced. On live versions the drums sounds bigger.

In my Opinion the Live at the Rainbow Version is the Best one, though this one in London would be the better one if it was in the Quality the Rainbow was in (just my opinion). This Song is from their very First Album. A kind of Drum solo in the Beginning, and a Guitar Solo and then a Bass Solo, Of course Freddie's epic Vocals too. AND WHAT?? You sadly didn't say anything to John Singing with them. John Deacon is the only one in the Band that isn't a singer and doesn't sing and he is also the quite one, which is why Liar is a special song and shining song for him. On Liar he has a Bass solo and look at 11:18 he sings with Them all. Radio Gaga Live is also a Song where John would sing together with them. It's really Rare but Fantastic. (maybe John even lip synced in this performance 🤷‍♂️) but still he sings very very occasionally. And now I want to Request something Different that many people haven't seen yet, I would be really happy if there is a reaction to this someday: *_Brian May - Resurrection (Official Music Video)._* That's a Solo song from Brian and it is also One of his Greatest Songs THAT NOBODY KNOWS ABOUT. MOST QUEEN FANS DON'T EVEN KNOW THAT BRIAN HAS SUCH AN AWESOME SONG. If you would do a reaction to it I would be very interested in seeing your reaction to an Solo Brian. And also it helps to show the Other Queen fans what that Underrated song really is about.

To see John sing was not as surprising to as you might think but that's because I have not explored the full catalog yet. Appreciate the comment and I have archived your song suggestion.
