My friend dragged me into forever 21 once. I thought I would buy a t shirt. I asked if they had it in a small and they said, "You are NOT a small." And I'm like wtf? I was anorexic at the time and my parents wrote them a letter explaining why they were the reason I became bulimic. Congrats forever 21, you called an anorexic girl fat.

I have never met anyone who has such severe anxiety like I do. You are such an inspiration to me and make me feel like I'm not alone, that I'm not crazy or childish for my fears. I totally understand how you felt at Forever 21, I even teared up a bit watching this because I could tell how upset and embarrassed you were. Anyway, I know you don't really talk about your anxiety anymore, but when you did this it was around the time where my anxiety had gotten the worst and you helped me get through it. You are like the best friend I never had. Thank you so much for sharing your life with us, and please don't be afraid to be yourself! The people who hate just don't understand you.

Nicole Bethea I totally feel you with the crippling anxiety. Oyyy :/ She and people like her do make me feel so much better, a kind of validation that helps sometimes and that definitely helps me feel stronger and better about myself even though I'm probably not as lame as I think I am anyway. I know that sounds pathetic, but I have big anxiety problems too and when someone's positivity has an effect on me it's priceless. Cheers, I hope you and I and everyone who has these anxiety issues realizes someday that we're awesome and have no reason to be so afraid. You seem like a strong person for dealing with all you go through and I think we really need to remind ourselves that. Cheers, girl! :o)

I met a guy at a party who worked at forever 21. He was a huge jerk the whole night and made a special point to tell me (5'4, 185) he thinks it's hilarious when "fat girls come in and browse and end up buying jewelry just so they can say they fit into something at forever 21." Ugh, made me sick! I've never had problems in the store other than obscenely long lines, but I was terrified to shop there after meeting that ass.

At forever 21, there was a really cute dress I wanted. There were no smalls. I asked a worker there, I asked " Do you have a small in this?". She said yes. I said can i have it. And she said "NO". I asked why. Her response was, "1st, you are NOT a small and we all know it, 2nd, its in the back and i dont have a key for the back, and 3rd, by the way, little six-year-olds are NOT allowed in here, for 2 reasons... but I dont want to waste your time.. go, go on bye-bye!" THAT'S WHAT EMPLOYEES ARE ALLOWED TO SAY NOW?!?!?!? 1st, I am a small, and even if I wasn't I could have been buying it for a friend! 2nd, If she didnt have A key, why couldnt she ask another worker?!?! 3rd, there is no rules that my little sister isnt allowed in there! Me and my sister where walking around in the mall (its in the mall) and I happened to see something I like! And when we were leaving (forced to leave) she pushed my little sister... PUSHED HER, she was on the floor in the middle of the walkways! OMG!!!!! And I didnt even buy anything. What store does that?!?! Insults you, Is too lazy to ask someone for something, and makes up a new rule just to push your buttons, and then forces you to leave, without buying anything! one time I bought something at forever 21, walked out of the door and went to another mall store directly across the way for 15 mins, return to forever 21 because i realize i didn't have a receipt and i was thinking i might return the item. I went back just 15 mins after buying the item and ask for a receipt saying i didn't have it. The employee said they gave it to me, i said i didn't ever get it, they started yelling at me, saying that I was lying, that i can't return anything without a receipt, they were EXTREMELY rude and after about 5 minutes they noticed the receipt on the floor, BEHIND the counter, and he was like oh i guess i didn't give it to you super casually and that was it. Like what the hell? You can't just re print a receipt? or be nice to a customer?

I was verbally abused at forever 21. Okay, Like, I'm a chubby girl, not the smallest. I went to try on a dress in the dressing room. After I put the dress on I was having mixed feelings about how I looked. I walked out to show my friend how I looked. She told me that I looked good. I looked over at the worker and she was laughing at me. I asked her if she liked it on me and this girl got an attitude. She had this snobby look on her face, she looked me up and down and said. "I like the dress." Giving me a hint that I looked fat or stupid or whatever. Ooooooh I was so angry. I bought the dress and she kept laughing at me. But I wasn't going to let her get the last laugh. I walked up to her with my shopping bag and said. "You're lucky I am even buying these clothes from your store." I walked out of that store so bitchy. So yeah.

I walked into Forever 21 a few years ago. While I looked around, every single employee in the place came up to me at least once asking if I needed help. I swear every 1 minute I had to tell a different employee that I was only browsing around. They kept hanging around and watching as I strolled through the store like I was some shoplifter. That was the first and last time I ever went into that store.

I know this is an old video but like, I'm still gonna rant. I was at Forever 21 searching for this really nice shirt with like a floral pattern. I went up to the clothing rack and found it. But when I went to buy it, the cashier was in like a bad mood I guess, and she threw a hanger at another employee, a fight broke down and I tried to stop. But no, the cashier had to throw a little jewelry stand at me. Then I realized she was drunk cause she was tipping over and looked like she was about to collapse so I signaled to the employee that was not drunk that I'm gonna get help. I went to the back room, where apparently only employees can go and tried to get help, but the drunk cashier caught me trying to get help and she tackled me to the ground. I screamed and a guy employer came out of the employee only door. He took the drunk cashier off of me and he called the manager. The manager yelled at the drunk cashier and and she was sobbing on the floor, having the WORST tantrum. And I left.

When I worked in the fitting rooms, I always let mothers in with their daughters. I would politely ask them if they needed help every once and a while, but I would never stop them from entering the rooms. The issues were teenage girls going in together. Every time I would be told by co-workers, "Watch them. They could be stealing". I'm actually really sad you had this experience. Fitting rooms should be relaxing so you can take your time trying on the products and leave comfortably and happy.

I don't think you need to give an explanation or reasons for why you like to have your mom come in the dressing room with you. I am 33 and when my mom and I go shopping together, we always go in the same dressing room. It is just so much easier. Plus, if your not sure if something looks bad or not, you don't have to parade yourself in front of all the other people, in something that potentially looks bad on you just to show your mom. Sounds like those store clerks and managers get off on the tiny bit of power they have in this world. I just feel sorry for people like that. I do understand how it can be frustrating and upsetting though.

I have never been to forever 21 myself, but my dad sometimes has work trips over to America (I live in Australia) and he buys stuff for my sister and I from forever 21. Last time he was there he said that he was near a rack at the front door of the store, just browsing. Then suddenly a man came up to him and said "you are not allowed to be in this part of the store" and so my dad had to go at the other end of the store but he later asked why and apparently "he looked like a robber and he was going or run out of the store at any moment". How judgemental is that? Why do they even have racks so close to the door if they think someone is going to run out the store??!!!

Forever 21 is a VERY unorganised store. I love their stuff but can't they just put the clothing in place instead of just putting it all over the store?! Like, I find a skirt I like in a bigger size than I need and it takes me FOREVER to find the right number. It turnes out that the right size for me was on the completely different part if the store.

Forever 21 experience: I had shopped online there a few times and was at a mall that had a forever 21 and i went in. this one was two story too. so I went in and was looking around and these female clerks are like giggling behind the counter and like joking with each other. i can hear them egging each other on to do something and i notice they're looking at me. now i'm a size 22, which is plus size in america, and forever 21 does have plus sizes but they're separated from the regular stuff like at any other store. well, these girls were skinny. so one of them comes over to me, and said pretty loudly, "the plus sized clothes are downstairs. nothing on this floor will fit you." Like, WTF?
@shannonparker207610 жыл бұрын
Oh wow, that's rude as hell. It shouldn't matter what size you are, you have a right to shop anywhere you please, and that clerk had no right to say what she did. First, it's not ok that they yelled at you, took a snotty attitude, or were being physically aggressive by banging like that on the door. But as someone who used to work at F21 I can understand why this happened. It's a theft prevention issue. You have no idea how many girl/women/family/bestie duos would go into a dressing room together and then I'd go and clean up the room after and find all sorts of censors they had pried off. When you tell a customer one per room and then they immediately go and do it again you start thinking something shady must be up. They handled the situation badly, but if you're wondering, there's a bit of explanation behind it. :/
@all-that-glitters936710 жыл бұрын
I had a similar experience at Forever 21, I was shopping with my friends one of which acts very questionably with her sexuality. Her and I were trying clothes on and an employee came in and yelled really loudly "No lesbians in the change rooms". When we came out of the dressing room all the employees were staring at us and kept staring while we looked at the jewelry section. After we all decided that none of us wanted anything we started walking out and one of the employees grabbed me by my arm pretty harshly and told me to dump my purse out. When I asked why he yelled at me saying that I was stealing which I didn't. So I dumped my purse out to prove that I didn't take anything and after I put all my stuff back inside my purse and told the employee how rude it was of him to scream at me to dump it in the first place he said "I don't have to apologize to you, all Mexicans steal" and then walked off. I'm not even Mexican but my friends that I was with were but yet he let them walk away like no ones business. Luckily all those employees were fired so I can now shop there without problems but it was pretty bad a few years ago.

I was told I didn't belong there because I was a female shopping in the men's section. They wouldn't let me use the dressing room because of my clothing choices (being men's clothes) and it was my first/last time at Forever 21.

What I do not understand but why have a rule to not let more than one person into a dressing room. I can see a point in limiting how many items you can take into a dressing room since that often means allot of tidying up for those who works there, but what do it matter if two people go into a dressing room?
@vikagrindle10 жыл бұрын
Their reason behind the one person per room policy is the risk of shoplifting which happens a LOT particularly in dressing rooms since it's the only place in the store where no one is watching. With all of their policies, even the ones that seem extreme, it is a lot more difficult to steal something. I would rather experience discomfort in the dressing room than pay twice as much for my clothes to make up for shoplifting losses. They are not accusing you specifically of being a thief, but they have to apply the same rules to everyone. Usually, if I have someone approve an outfit that is revealing, I stand inside the room and have them outside the room looking in, which works just as well. However, it really sounds like the customer service there was really horrible. I have experienced these types of policies in forever 21 but I've never had someone yell at me for it and treat me so rudely. It sounds like if the employees are this rude, they would lose more money pissing off customers than whatever they're saving with these policies. I doubt corporate would be happy to hear about how their employees are treating the customers, so good move to contact them. I'm also really surprised the manager backed them up in their treatment. That location must be experiencing some bad management.

I go to Forever 21 like all the time and I usually never have really bad experiences besides earlier today. I'm a size 0 , I'm extremely skinny so it's hard to find clothing that fits me. So I was looking at clothing and there where some young workers watching me and making comments to each other, so I just ignored them and kept looking around. And a girl came up to me and asked if I needed any help and she laughed and look back at her friends. I told her that I was just looking for a dress that would fit me and she told me that they don't have a special size for aneroxics. I got SOOO pissed I looked at her and said ( kinda loudly ) "really? Did you really just fucking say that to me??" The girl looked at me shocked that I responded and I left. After hearing that other people have gone through troubles some what similar (with rude workers) I kinda don't want to got here anymore.

The last time I was at Forever 21, my friend and I wanted to try on the same dress, but since you could only have one person per room, she tried it on and then tossed it over the wall into my room. Everything would have been fine except for the fact that this store apparently never gets cleaned so when she threw the dress about an inch worth of built up dust came showering down on me and all of my clothes. I know this video is super old but I decided to tell you my experience in forever 21:/ So I was shopping with my sister and we went to a fitting room because she wanted to show me how the clothes looked. We were walking into the same dressing room when I saw 2 employees (they were girs who looked like they were in their early 20s) and I saw them kind of snickering and pointing at us but I just thought nothing of it and kept walking into the dressing room. One of the employees comes up to me and says "Only one per dressing room" (that wasn't a rule before). My sister says to just wait outside of the room and she'll come out and show it to me. So I'm just standing there waiting when I hear them laughing and pointing again. This time I ask her "Is there something you would like to tell me?" And she says "Well it's just that you're just standing there in the middle of the dressing rooms" So I say "I'm waiting for my sister to show me her clothes, she's in that dressing room" The employee responds "Yes I understand but we have other shoppers and you just standing there is wasting space" So at this point I'm mad and I tell her "Well, you breathing is wasting oxygen" She gets mad, calls the manager and security, my sister gets involved and then we were thrown out of the store. Never went back there again.

I love how the forever 21 near me (long island) just recently put curtains in their dressing rooms. It took almost 8 years to do that, before that you're basically getting naked in front of strange women. Maybe it's just me but I don't want people looking at my naked self, take me to dinner first at least.

Yeah and honestly, I don't get this policy. They thought they were gonna shop lift??..you don't need two people to shop lift at a store like that lmfao unless your planning to like do a full on robbery. I could understand if one of them came out to distract while the other one took something but..they were both in there...it just makes no sense. And it just seems like a reason to be mean to people who don't deserve it. If she needs her mom,granmama,cousin or her cat in there with her,I don't see how that's a problem nor anyone's business.

Manners don't cost anything, I hate workers who come in with a bad attitude and take it out on the customers without asking for an explication, so rude! i used to work at forever 21, and it's honestly nothing personal against you or your mom, i watch your videos and know you're a nice person, but you wouldn't believe how many customers try to shoplift. so we have to enforce those rules for a reason, especially on the weekends when there's a lot of traffic. A LOT of customers are extremely rude and degrading towards us because these rules don't comply with their personal agenda, but if we don't enforce them we get yelled at by our managers, who are as equally demanding and unreasonable. however, the way they yelled at you was just shameful and unprofessional, and i'm really sorry that happened to you. tldr; i can see where they're coming from, but the way they handled the situation definitely wasn't right.

I find that Forever 21 employees are only ever nice to me if I look done up. It's like they think you're somehow not worthy if you don't look like you came out of a vogue magazine. If I don't wear makeup and decide to wear sweats or something, they act all rude and stuck up. But if I have a full face of makeup with curled hair and stylish clothing, they're nice and chipper. Snobs much?
@kellyhooten853510 жыл бұрын
I refuse to go there ever again. I can't lift my arms high enough to get anything over my head. I went on a Wednesday morning with my sister-in-law to try on a few shirts and I obviously I needed her in the room with me. As she is helping me into the first shirt the manager bangs super loudly on the door. Well my sister-in-law opens it enough to speak quietly to the manager and he yanks the door open so hard he almost broke it. He starts yelling at us and claiming we are shop lifting, yet it is clearly obvious I am trying the clothes on. So after the manager is told why I need help, he demanded for me to prove it. So once I get my arms up as high as they go he said I was faking it and tried to push them up higher. Needless to say my sister-in-law broke his nose, we filed a police report, and we have never gone back.

I once went shopping there with my friend and I was trying some jeans on but at the time I had my arm in a cast. So she came in and basically the exact same thing as you were talking about happened. This got me thinking, there needs to be a store that smells like subtle lavender, has quiet, soft music playing, videos of cats purring/sleeping and puppies on TV, the staff always need to be friendly and softly spoken, and just make it the most relaxing store ever for people with anxiety XD
@1ClownFreakTown10 жыл бұрын
I wen into forever 21 this one time, and I had my mom with me like I always do. Now I have a horribly sever case of social anxiety, even thinking about talking to someone I don't know makes me start to freak out, so my mom goes with me on shopping trips and stuff to help me. I saw a shirt that I really liked and it wasn't in my size, so I pointed to the size so my mom would understand (yes I actually pointed because its so bad I can't even speak in public). She left me at the stand to go and ask for my size, then a worker came up to me and very unwillingly asked if I needed help, I was already starting to panic that she had asked me something so I shook my head frantically. So then the woman looked at me like I was crazy and my mom came back and asked the lady to leave, and she freaked out and was yelling at us for being so rude by telling her I didn't need help and getting help from someone else. This lady happened to be black an I'm not racist at all, the lady that my mom had gotten to help us just happened to be white, so the one black lady was screaming how we were racist and rude. With my social anxiety being so bad, I actually had an anxiety attack in the middle of the store and when the manager got involved he didn't do anything! My mom had to run me to the bathroom so that I could finish having my anxiety attack and it was so bad that I actually threw up. I will never go back into that store because that was one of the worst experiences of my life and I can't imagine going through that again.

***** because they are the only ones you can ask things; if they have something in another size (like, you can only see mediums so you ask if they have a large or two in stock) or just because you need help with something. I dunno, where I come from people are very helpful and polite (being asked at H&M if there is anything you need, or if you want some style advice or at Carlings getting help taking stuff down from shelves you can't reach) so I kinda believe that should be standard

I work at a Forever21 in Canada and yes we have policies we have to follow like one person per cabin but the way they treated you is ridiculous. The second they noticed your mother was in the cabin with you they simply ask politely if she can exit, i know at the store i work at we would have never yelled or slammed on the door like you described. i'm not telling you this is to get some sort of justification for Forever21 i'm telling you this because i'm 100% surprised by your Forever21's actions. I feel like actions need to be taken and if that's by emailing managers or district managers then i think that's what should happen, i don't know if it's just those few workers but it saddens me to know that people such as yourself have been treated so unfairly in stores because sometimes us workers aren't treated fairly... As an employee of Forever21 we are constantly reminded that we should be giving the customer the best experience we can, these workers should know better and don't worry karma will get them!

Okay...I guess this means we are sharing stories. So basically I'm 14 and I guess I look very young or something because whenever I go into Forever 21 they look at me like I'm a six-year-old trying to buy bikinis with her mom's credit card(I'm usually there with my best friend and no parents). And they always seem like they're rushing me to get out of the store. And if you're at the register they just take their time doing whatever. I've never really talked to any of the employees head on like that, but I'm just like you Bunny. Plus, I have anxiety and if I was in your situation I would probably have an anxiety attack and cry. And mine is in the middle of a HUGE MALL SO I COULDN'T JUST SNEAK OUT UNDETECTED.
@LanaVolsky10 жыл бұрын
I know some people may think that she's overreacting or that it's not a big deal, but just think. Bunny has anxiety. Bunny loves shopping, and it helps her not be so anxious. Forever 21 (as she said) was a place for her and her mom to go to shop and to get out without having the stress of socializing (yes it's fucking stressful sometimes, and you probably know this). It was, in basic terms, a safe place for her. When you are humiliated in a place that you thought was safe and non-judgmental, that takes a toll on you. I'm not an expert, but I have social anxiety as well, and I know the feeling. Don't give her crap about this.

All these people saying "Well I get it but I work in retail and its cause shoplifting is really bad". I work in retail too--I've had people scream at me, piss, shit, and vomit on my floors, and yeah, shoplifting is a MAJOR issue, but I am of the mindframe, as is every manager and floor employee (for the most part, company-wide) that customer service is so much more important. Forever 21 is notoriously shitty at customer service--they have cheap, poorly made clothes that fall apart at the slightest inconvenience and don't let you return anything, and every one I've ever seen has a similar closed to open dressing room situation for no apartment reason, and that's not even counting the general disarray of the store. Their clothes are cute as hell but I've made it a point to not shop there just because they set a bad example for...pretty much everyone. There is no reason to ever be that rude to your customer--and if you think there is, work in someplace where you never have to deal with one.
@torilauren226510 жыл бұрын
Thank you! While I understand that you have to enforce the rules a bit to prevent theft and such, you can't scream at and mistreat customers. My mom was a customer service manager (so she dealt with all customer related issues) at walmart, pretty much the scum of retail, and has never treated even the most terrible people with this kind of disrespect. It's bad for business, especially acting like that to such a regular customer. It's also better to have a thief or two steal $50 worth of merchandise, than chase off all of your good customers from being rude, who may have otherwise spent several hundred dollars there over time. Note to retail workers: you CAN enforce the rules without screaming, yelling, and embarrassing your customer.
@LilitheAmara8 жыл бұрын
This is an older video, but I would like to put a couple pieces of info out there. I used to work at Forever XXI, I worked at a very well managed store, so a lot of things were very different at my store. We cleaned out the dressing room daily, so we didn't have the issue of multiple rooms being closed like at the store she went to. It also sounds like people there got really rude super quickly. Forever XXI does have a one person per room policy. The only exception is if someone is disabled and needs help trying on. Most places actually have that rule but only enforce it sometimes, but it is to deter theft. Some people will get immidiately weird about two people being in a room because they are trained to think it's a shrink issue. What they don't realize though, is that customers, on average, are not aware that it is a theft issue. Employees are also hesitant to say that is the reason because people get super defensive and angry when they feel accused of something. The number of items in the try on room depends on the store. Most of them will have a certain number of items depending on how busy they are and it's anywhere from 4 to 8. They actually took it down to 6 while I worked there to let more people get a chance to try on. I am in no way defending how the people acted towards her, but I will say that certain things that happened were always against company policy, but poorly enforced at this store.

The reason why their jewelry is so cheap is because they are made out of the shittiest possible metals (wouldn't be surprised at all if there was lead in them) and then coated to look like silver or gold etc. I used to wear their stuff, but I broke out in rashes on my fingers etc if I wore their rings. And the silver would come off after a month or two and it would be copper underneath etc and turn green. So much better to invest in a NICE ring, made out of precious metals. Will last and look great for so much longer.

I am 44 years old. I still have my mom go in the room with me. I am not comfortable with going outside the room to prance around for the world to see me in the clothes. Mom is in the room to help me make decisions and to help me go quicker. We would definitely lay in on them for hollering or pounding on the door. I can't believe they talked like that to your mom. I'm sure you let them know how you felt about that when you wrote your letter. I don't know if you did this or not, but it can be good to do if the situation calls for action... If you need to write a complaint letter to a place like this, lots of times they have a section on their corporate website that talks about their mission or how they feel about the customers. This is good info to quote in your letter. It is also good to send snail mail letters to every person named on the corporate site that is an upper management person AND send email letters as well. In your email letter let them know you are sending copies of the complaint to the local paper AND if you are complaining about something big then cc the paper on that very email. This usually helps make a huge impact. Try to remember to put the exact day and time of the day you were at the store. That way they can track which employees were there at the time. I know this comment is WAY too late to apply to this situation, but I'm late in being a subscriber and I still wanted to put my 2 cents in for whatever it's worth. Also, I'm sorry you and your mom got treated so poorly there. That stinks. Hooray for gator made clothing! Haha

So what if I sound 'old' - They're there to work, and I shouldn't feel bad about 'interrupting' their conversation because I need them to let me into the ONE goddamn dressing room they have open. where I work (not forever 21) we have a limit of three items per customer but if they have more I put it on the rail and then take it to them and swap the items when they are ready ( I just say to poke there head round the door when they are ready). Also if people want to go in together, I let them. quite often people want to try on bras or swimming costumes, so they obviously won't want to come out of the changing to see there friend. even if they aren't trying on something like that, the customer quite often needs help with zipping there dress up or something. also its a lot easier to just have them in the room rather than having to keep opening the door. we also have two sets of fitting rooms- 1 downstairs for women and 1 upstairs for men. each individual room is also really big so they are made to be able to have more than one person and maybe even a pushchair, and then an extra large room at the end for disabled customers with chairs and handles and an emergency cord. I always try to be really nice to the Customer even if they are arguing with me, there isn't any point in arguing back because that isn't going to solve any problems. even today when a lady started arguing with me about the fact that we charge 5p for bags (we have to- its the law in the UK for large businesses) and that we have our logo on the bags... even though I wanted to have a massive go at her and say that it wasnt my choice, I made sure that I was nice and polite...

I liked it more when she was comfortable enough to talk about her anxiety and problems. It seems like she acts so bubbly because people have picked on her so much online. Of course I hope that's not true, but..

Darius Abend Maybe because she's been youtube for a while now, she finally got comfortable to be her funny, silly, ugly face puling, self instead of always talking about her anxiety & problems. Maybe that's the real her. When she was a bit younger & newer on youtube, she would've been really nervous, worried about being criticized or abused online.....over time that anxiety would have eased & now she's totally ok with being herself, which is a little crazy & probably doesn't always talk about her anxiety.....Idk I could be wrong. Annyways catch ya later!

Forever 21 is so transphobic. I'm not even transexual but i wear guy clothes and girl clothes because idc about gender roles. I was looking at men's clothes there and an employee said "excuse me, the women's clothes are over tere, hun." ??? I said "ok?"

+Kathryn1209 I've used voice recorder once, because one employee was bullying a customer. I couldn't let that happen, but I always fear the manager doesn't believe us. She got instantly fired.

Well it's funny because it doesn't feel like 'victory'. However on the other hand bullying is just not cool. So I'm glad I stood up for this girl c:

I gave up on forever 21 after I got yelled at by one of the employees for the same thing. I have really had anxiety so I need my sister with me when I shop. I didn't know if I liked my dress or not so I asked my sister to come in and see it and I kid you not. She wasn't halfway in the dressing room when this bratty worker came running up and screamed at me saying I was stealing their clothes. I just broke down crying because I got so scared. My sister had to try to calm the girl down and explain my anxiety to her but she wouldn't listen and kept yelling. Everyone in the (freakishly over packed) dressing room was watching. Obviously i left without buying anything.
