1st year of marriage- what have you learned?

Welcome to Herding little Cows to the glory of God
We're not your typical family, and this isn't the typical KZbin channel. Sara and Mark live on the coast of Maine and have been married for over 20 years and as of this writing (November 2023) we are expecting our 10th child. We believe that children are a blessing from the Lord and that marriage is a gift to be celebrated as well as a relationship to be invested in.
Content on our channel ranges from pregnancy and birth stories to therapy strategies for children with brain injuries. We talk about home education, sing hymns, and share the simple joy of childhood. In a nutshell, we open up our lives and our homes in hopes that our experiences can be a help to others walking through challenges. I’m so glad this popped up in my feed! This video made me so happy to watch! I desire to be married so badly some days, I’m a stay at home daughter although I do babysit so I’m putting away some money for the future but watching this brought me back down to earth, I know marriage is NOT always easy and sometimes I let myself forget that and just wish I was married right now…so thank you guys for filming this 😊 I’ve never seen your channel before but I’m totally subscribing now! I just have one question for now and it’s not just for Virginia and Wayland Do y’all keep the feast days Jesus kept? And one for Virginia and Wayland Do you think there were things you should’ve talked about before marriage that you didn’t because you weren’t comfortable talking about them in group settings?

We do not keep the feast days. Jesus came to fulfill the prophecies of the Old Testament. We do not need to do anything to add to our salvation. It is only through the blood that Jesus shed on the cross that we are seen as righteous. However, all the feasts pointed forward to Jesus. So if one is celebrating the feasts, they should be seeing how Jesus was the fulfillment of those.

Maybe not start pumping out babies right away? Enjoy several years together, each other, interests, high education, traveling, solid careers… THEN start a family!

The Bible says children are a blessing. Children are a product of marital intimacy if God so chooses. If people want to do all those other things then they should wait on marriage. But none of those things are as rewarding as raising children.
