Welcome to Herding little Cows to the glory of God
We're not your typical family, and this isn't the typical KZbin channel. Sara and Mark live on the coast of Maine and have been married for over 20 years and as of this writing (November 2023) we are expecting our 10th child. We believe that children are a blessing from the Lord and that marriage is a gift to be celebrated as well as a relationship to be invested in.
Content on our channel ranges from pregnancy and birth stories to therapy strategies for children with brain injuries. We talk about home education, sing hymns, and share the simple joy of childhood. In a nutshell, we open up our lives and our homes in hopes that our experiences can be a help to others walking through challenges. If this sounds like something that would benefit you, then we encourage you to subscribe here on KZbin as well as following us on Facebook.
If we can be of assistance to you, can answer your questions, or you just want to say Hello, then throw a message in the comments section or reach out via Messenger. We post on Facebook regularly with what we're studying in God's Word each day, hymns we sing together, and lots of fun pictures and video along with encouragement in the Christian walk.

Elisha is now over a month old already. Time certainly does fly by, especially the early days.

I'm sorry Sara but baby Elisha totally stole the show and I had to keep rewinding to listen properly to what you were saying! He is so adorable. Glad you had a positive birthing experience and were able to go home to be with your family after a short stay. Enjoy every moment with your new blessing ❤️💐🙏

@@HerdingLittleCows all your children are beautiful inside and out. Thank you for the links. I'm not on Instagram and only use Facebook occasionally but I will have a look next time I use it. For now I will settle for seeing you all on KZbin. It's been such a long time since I've seen a newborn and it has lovely to follow your pregnancy and be reminded just how beautiful childbirth and all that comes with it is. Thank you for taking us with you on your journey. Have a blessed day 🙏❤️

Can you tell us about how you came up with the names of your children?
@HerdingLittleCows
@HerdingLittleCows 4 ай бұрын
Virginia was named after Mark’s mother’s mother. Naomi after Sara’s mother’s mother’s mother as well as a Bible name. Over the years the rest have been Bible names that have much to do with what the Lord was teaching us at that time. Searching our content there’s a few videos about various names and the songs we make up to teach the meaning and spelling of their names. Here’s the naming process of one of Gideon in a fun video. kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y3fYhH6YibGZoacsi=JEPNn2CiMrZhkrVC

You sound out of breath as you speak? Is it a medical issue or just the way you speak?

Somedays i sound more out of breath. I have a problem with how my nose and sinus cavity are formed. I could have surgery to correct it but I’m choosing not to

Do you ever worry there may be a time that your geriatric pregnancy is dangerous and could cause all of the many children you've had to be forced to live without a mother due to your choices? Sure, it happened all the time before controlling birth, but have you ever thought it was sent (or the scientists were sent) by god to mitigate the loss of mother's with many children? God has a plan, and sending what we need is part of that!

There were no complications with my “geriatric” pregnancy. I understand that complications can come with any pregnancy, but there are also dangers of driving a car or flying in an airplane. Do we tell mothers that they should never do these activities because there is a possibility of injury or death? No we don’t. I took care of my body and my baby to the best of my ability. I got needed medical care and was aware of signs that may indicate swelling other medical care. God made women’s bodies to bear children. In the Bible we never see a certain age or problem where women were instructed to stop bearing children. I am leaving it up to God.

@HerdingLittleCows Oh absolutely, but did the Bible talk about all the women who died in childbirth? No, of course not! We know millions did before they had access to proper healthcare and education, though! We also know complications to the mother and child are incredibly common in geriatric pregnancies now and how to prevent them!

I'm pregnant with my 9th. My doctor has no concerns over my age ( I'll be 40 2 months after my 9th is born) or the number of children I have. Because my history shows my body carries babies very well. And there are no health concerns that have come up during my care for this baby. I don't know if you realize how rude your comment sounded. Plentybof people have babies at an older age. Some quite a bit older then she is.

@@jenniferwolford4646 The term "geriatric pregnancy" is extremely outdated, as the medical/scientific community have instead been using the term "advanced maternal" for quite some time now. A lot has changed over the years in detecting/treating/avoiding complications & risks, which is why "millions" no longer die because we do now have advanced, "proper health care and education"~ praise God. Could not agree with you more that "God has a plan", indeed He does. It is the choice & responsibility of every mother to prayerfully consider all aspects of her family life, including how she relates to and applies God's Word to her family planning decisions. This is as personal as our individual relationship with Him, imho. There will always be concerns & natural worries with any pregnancy, at any age. This does not negate the fact that children are a blessing, no matter the mother's age, and that God will always be in ultimate control~ no matter mother's age. We must also consider the fear driven culture we live in where we are both encouraged to delay having children until our 30's & 40's, & to also realize how "risky" it may be to have children in our 30's & 40's~ rather blatant double speak/contradiction imho. I can see how confusing this may be. Plenty of parents choose to put our faith in God, expand our medical & scientific understanding accordingly, and do our best to extend grace & compassion to those who have sincere questions or concerns.
