Great idea for a challenge. WalMart is always hit or miss. Having said that, you did have some great catches and that one you lost was definitely over 5lbs. Loved Treys combo and lures. Congrats April and Trey! Both awesome "biggest" fish. Do this again, with a $300 max budget for rod and reel, and a $70 budget for lures. Order everything online prior to the actual fishing day/days, and after all your orders are delivered, pass out the combos and go fishing. Academy, Cabelas, WalMArt (alll three must be store brands) and Amazon (any brand goes). You could do it two times. One time with bass fishing gear and bass only, and one time with ultra lite and any species. Great job! Fun video.

i grew up on a lake fishing with a 5'6 ultralight underspin 8lb test mono that made everything feel like a giant. Still lifetime PR 6lb bass on that rod combo. Fluke, boot tail swim-jig and a spinnerbait is about all I need around here

Great fishing as always. But could you please teach April how to properly and safely put fish back into the water, on many occasions she throws em like they are a football, and I watch to see how many are going to float back up dead. You can kill them from not handling them properly, I know she hasn't been fishing for long and I love she's out there doing it but i cringe everytime she catches one , knowing it's going to be hurtled back into the water like a football. ~ fish on~
