I'm so excited to see what Scaramouche will do in the story. His connection to Baal (or the body that she is presenting herself with) is pretty clear to me. His hair also seems like it was exactly like Baals but he literally did a Mulan scene and cut it without even paying attention or worrying about style. Another thing that is so interesting about all of this is the aspect of eyes. The saying “eyes are the window to the soul” seems to be very true in the Genshin Impact universe. Both Baal and Scaramouche have extremely similar eye patterns (something we don’t see in other characters besides the sisters Jean and Barbara) and the only difference is the color and glow from Baal's eyes that is typical of archons. Quick question: did anyone notice the strange looking eye with the electro symbol as it’s pupil? It’s always behind Baal (her splash art and her ability) for some reason. Is that the eye of the true electron archon? Just watching and monitoring her puppet? Idk. Seems sus to me. Love your theories

i'd like to add that inazuma is not the only nation filled with irony - just like you said baal is the electro archon, the god od thunder, something short lived, seeking eternity. if you listen to dainslief's lines in the teyvat chapter storyline preview you can tell that every chapter is filled with contraditions: well for starters venti is the god of freedom but he doesn't actually give his people the freedom of choice, just like dainslief says "what does freedom really mean, when demanded of you by a god?" is it really freedom if it is commanded? liyue is a nation of contracts and everyone seems to follow and respect them. but yanfei tells us in her story quest/teapot quest something along the lines of nobody in liyue even knows the law since it is so complicated and hard to understand ("hard to understand and impossible to finish"). so essentially everybody in liyue supposedly follow something that they don't even understand. also zhongli's time as an archon is ended with a contract. next, the sumeru archon is the god of wisdom but he is the youngest archon and wisdom is commonly associated with the elderly. dainslief tells us that his enemy is wisdom itself and his nation of scholars is actually foolish. ("in the city of scholars there is a push for folly"). fontaine's archon is the archon of justice but she secretly wishes to judge all other gods. so all archons are full of irony, it's just that inazuma's really obvious one here!

May I add that I also find it interesting that though Liyue is the city of contracts, it is technically the most ‘free’, at least, free from a god, considering Zhongli is no longer an archon, and the fact that he does not have any presence over the city besides his statues of the seven. Perhaps I just have a different understanding of ‘freedom’ but that’s just how I see it.

Umm...I don't think that fox statue is related to that. From what we know, Ritou is a town created just 500 years ago by Hiiragi Hiroshi on a once desolate island. It is also revealed that Kitsune Saiguu and Hiroshi were good acquaintances or even friends. So, I think Hiroshi actually made a statue of her Kitsune/real form. The Halo appearing behind should be of no surprise as she is a fox goddess. Even Raiden Shogun addresses her with "sama"(source: Narukami's Affection, weapon ascension material), which is unfortunately lost in the English translation. But you can go to Honey Hunter website and check it in CN or JP with google translate. You might also notice that the Fox statue is on top of a base. Further hinting that it is a man-made statue.

It's like having thousands of cameras of someone who you fear the most directly looking at you. I had thought about Baal’s mental health for a while. If the swordsman, that was present in front of Yae, is like a reflection of what’s happening with Baal, it could be what’s happening to Baal in the inside. (Never thought of her as a vessel when she was committing judgement on traveler) You can look like you’re in control on the outside but on the inside, you are full of anxiety and self doubt that you’re slowly driving yourself into a void of madness. Anyone else think that she represents the three unifiers of Japan during the sengoku period. She closed her nation just like Tokugawa. i don't think you need to be so apologetic about the honkai references! the connections are very clearly there (mei and yae from honkai even have the same voice actresses in genshin!) and i think it's totally intentional on mihoyo's part. also, scaramouche has a mitsudomoe symbol on his chest, so this just adds to his connection to baal imo! your videos are so full of great information and got me looking further into all the lore in genshin...it's staggering how much there is on basically every single item in the game! i really like the concept of baal actually being this incredibly powerful being who is full of anxiety and makes a lot of mistakes and is terrified of the fleeting nature of her own existence, it IS relatable LOL

Heck all of them have at least 5 different titles each (except venti) and all are listed in the wiki.

What are your thoughts about the statue of the Omnipresent God being taken from somewhere? The base of the statue has a lot of damage and looks like it was ripped from the top of a Celestia-like pillar. If you look at the damage at the base of the statue it doesn't look like it was actually built there. For me, it's a big question where the statue actually came from.

Are you talking about the nail in dragon spine if so that was from celestial getting annoyed from people trying to steal a peace of the heavens so they moved higher and the nail was left and made dragon spine cold as hell (probably??). But if your talking about the stolen venti statue they could be foreshadowing venti dying or maybe the abyss are trying to create their own statue with the materials or maybe they are trying to draw power or something. Every so many hundred years, humans use their ambitions to ascend to the level of the Gods. They are able to use the elements without visions and have access to advanced technology. This is what happened to Khanrieh and why Celestia destroyed it and why it continues to repeat the process. Celestia uses Visions to keep an eye on humanity and to erroneously keep their ambitions in check.

Actually, I would like to say Celestia is doing this in order to prevent the honkai from invading Teyvat, a world yet to be touched by the honkai. If they mitigate how much teyvat evolves, then they’ll stay in a state where they won’t be obliterated. Think about how medieval-esk everything sorta feels, compared to Honkai 3rd’s setting which is swarmed by the honkai. This is why I believe more Genshin is based off Project ARK, especially when Alice hinted at a barrier being weak…

@@Hinoirocks if i remember correctly there was no “flaw”, she intended to discard him from the beginning. he was just a prototype where she tested the technology. After he was made Ei didn’t have the heart to strike down “an object of her own creation” so she locked his powers away and he ran through the world as a regular human. The Fatui then found him and (im not sure if this is canon or just a theory) Dottore unlocked his powers.

I was thinking that if she is piloting a shell from afar, it gives a bit of context to her fight with the traveler. “I will observe you” and statements like that make more sense if someone is watching from afar. It’s like if someone sends a drone to observe something and can see from afar.

I also like to think about the interesting similarities and differences between Yoimiya and Baal’s characterization through which talent materials they (supposedly) use. While Yoimiya uses Transience, Baal uses Light. Yoimiya creates fireworks, which are similar to lightning in how they are spontaneous and happen in a single or few moments, despite how brilliant and spectacular they are. However, as Transience goes, Yoimiya focuses on the explosion as a whole, and the “birth and death” of the firework, and as Light goes, Baal would embody more of that singular moment stretched for eternity. This is an extremely minor detail, but I appreciate how everything about a character has such amazing detail in them. Also, Electro Scaramouche with an Anemo delusion could be the final nail in the coffin that would make me whale for a character.

While the flowers Baal wears and on the door of Tenshukaku could be based on the species you mentioned such as morning glories... They are not that breed and I have it mentioned in my own videos. They are a species unique to the game made note of in the Thundersoother's Heart artifact piece. They are a flower mentioned to only blossom in thunderstorms and that never wither. They represent eternity despite being a flora which tend to wither based on the end of their seasons. So the point you made about the flower being something representing something fleeting falls apart because of what I found about the flower it is depicting. Here is the video I mentioned this trivia on and I think I'm one of the first if not the first who mentioned this reference in her design which I love: kzbin.info/www/bejne/f5eblmZ-fdCeh8U A link to her which is transient is the sacred sakura tree since sakura are fleeting but in Inazuma they don't seem to ever lose their season. Somehow even they are eternal in this space. So this follows your point since you are right they have short blossom periods. The way the sakura are in Inazuma is a contradiction in and of itself as something that is meant to be fleeting seems to remain forever here.

I think that's slightly misguided because the line actually goes, "This flower blossoms only in thunderstorms, and never withers despite the constant rain." If you know about plants, you'll know that constant watering will kill them and case them to wilt and die. I don't think this description is suggesting that the flower is eternal, since there's no mention of anything else like that here, just that it's very resistant to the harsh and wet conditions of a constant storm. The theory still holds for me because the rest of the set doesn't reference eternity either. In fact, it references transience. Here's a snippet from the hourglass: "Observing this taught the Thundersoother about the cycle of life and death. Empowered with this knowledge, he was able to defeat the beast." The rest of the set is quite similar. The only mentions to anything even remotely eternal, is the "never changing law of time." Everything else is about being quick/brief/over in a flash. Even talks about how the Thundersoother dies. As for the Sakura tree, there's not much to say here other than we haven't really seen any other seasons in Teyvat yet. I don't remember if they call the Sakura one that never stops blooming, but it's not like we've seen that for ourselves. Also worth noting is that the Sakura Cleansing quest implies that the Sakura tree can wither if the tumor is allowed to grow, which kind of suggests to be that the tree is being kept alive artificially. A normal tree would simply succumb to disease and die. It's a great point to bring up the thundersoother flower as it is pretty close to Baal's flowers, but I disagree with your point about it making the theory fall apart.

@@Ikuraga there are theories about how genshin has a fake sky/moon like scaramouche said in the unreconciled stars event the moon doesnt even have a lunar cycle in genshin which could simply be a quick shortcut buy making lunar cycles in games isnt even too hard. Im not a coder so i wouldnt know to make one but i have seen some simple games and they have lunar cycles so im guessing they arent very hard to code its teyvat's version of the flat earth theory but it could be true (unlike the flat earth theory)

i have a feeling that the archons are not "real people", i mean, so far we know for sure thar Venti and Zhongli can manifest themselves in multiple ways. "Venti" is a Bard from the Decarabian war era that was possessed by the Wind Spirit, we saw that in the manga, and Zhongli took a form of a Dragon (that became his exuvia when he turned into Zhongli), so yeah, Baal may be just the shell of the Electro Archon, and Scaramouch is a failed shell for some reason. I wonder if the same is true for all of the other archons as well, i have a feeling that Vanessa is "Murata" the Pyro archon, and it would make sense since Vanessa is the Genshin doppelganger of Himeko Murata from Honkai, and since "Murata" is the name of the Pyro archon....yeah

Correction, Barbatos was a Wind Spirit. After becoming the Anemo Archon, he took the form of his old bard friend. Venti is the name he chose to go around to conceal his true identity. But yes, Archons does have the ability to shape shift.

Given that Baal is already pretty similar to Baal hadad, his later viewing as a “false” god could also be tied to how her people (and even some members of the community) are calling HER a “false god” and decrying her by saying she’s not herself or that she isn’t the real archon. She could also be false in a different sense, in that while her anxiety is leading her to chase “true” eternity, she is only driving herself further from heaven and thus, divinity. This could even lead to a great explanation of how all of this came to be. as her insecurity causes her to loose more of her divinity, she she grows more insecure, causing her to move further from heaven and progressively try more and more extreme tactics to regain it.

also wanted to add one little thing about Yae Miko - I think she leaves the shrine very often but no one is able to notice. In Yoimiya's lines about Yae Miko she recalls a time when she was asked to make fireworks for her during a ritual at the shrine. She was curious how Yae would release them since she had to be present during the ritual so she watched her the whole time but then Ayaka came and told Yoimiya that Yae was very pleased with the fireworks. Yoimiya was very surprised when did Yea managed to release them and even said, I quote: "Was the person sitting inside the shrine not her, then?". Very sus
