I found the material (foam) inside the box, to be breaking up and crumbling (at first I thought sound dampening but now most likely meant to hold water that fell out of the air stream) , I vacuumed it all out. That intake port at the grill, has a fine mesh material, also compromised and breaking due to age (2012, 113k miles. Air intake strainer. PART # 8R0129054

Hey so I have a question for you so I changed my MAF sensors and I notice the connector that clamps on to the sensory is missing to pin when there should be have is there a way I can just add two pins instead of getting a new harness

I have done that on my Q5 2.0t 2013 recently and I only unscrewed the 6 bolts and then shift the cover on side and swapped the air filter.

If you blow the air filter housing out, you don’t want the maf to get dirty when you do that. Best to blow it out or you should at least take the airbox out and turn it upside down

Excellent stuff Nap.. yep OEM for me.. I learned the hard way by buying aftermarket stuff that never fit properly.. so I will always use Audi Mann filters for fuel, oil air and cabin anyway I do have a question.. recently you posted a video about a class-action lawsuit in regards to the B8, 8.5 after run coolant pumps. Did you receive the letter from Audi? I have a B8.5 that applies here do I need to be proactive about this? Anyway I’m not sure how to proceed since I bought this car from a dealer do I need to call the dealer of contact Audi with my vin number? Some videos for this on youtube but i've watched literally all of them, noone has been clear and made a PROPER video. You make PROPER videos, hope you see this. By the way, do you know if the 1.8TFSI is similar to 2.0TFSI in regards to timing chain and piston replacements?

NaptownTuner Could you make a video how to replace/fix the interior vent control pin. On my central panel (in Q5 2013) I have both control pins broken. I mean that pin you can use to direct air flow through the vent up//down or side ways. In addition, I am just having issues likely with CV joint/ axles. I hear a clicking sound when turning and accelerating . Maybe you could talk about symptoms and go over the DIY replacement process.

@@NaptownTuner Would you suggest replacing the CV axle shaft or just the outer boot which is cracked if my CV joint already makes a noise when turning?

@@pavelmachala we have a place local called Indianapolis rack and axle that takes your core and usually has a good rebuilt shaft in stock. I don’t really like most aftermarket shafts compared to oem but when it’s making noise it’s past just putting a boot on it.

Question, i added the Cts turbo CatchCan to my Audi a5 2011 and yet oil is still being dumped into the turbo when the car is WOT and driven hard. If driving normally and calmly it loses no oil in catchcan to turbo connection. I had a 100mile trip, going smooth no oil lost, driving back hard the car was basically empty of oil and the connection had oil in it when i checked. everytime I WOT when the turbo releases boost some smoke would come off the back of the exhaust. the car idling does not smoke however only when releasing boost.

These engines have oil consumption issues with bad oil scraper design, until that’s fixed you will always have oil problems. Needs pistons or rings. I have a few videos on it.

You’re not allowed to think about mods until your preventative maintenance is done.. if so then you can handle a k04 with all stock Internals. Bigger turbo than k04 is stupid anyway

Timing chain / tensioner / maybe balance shaft chain / maybe pistons / water pump. I do my synthetic oil changes every 10k miles

@@NaptownTuner u think I can change my intake and exhaust valves while the engine is still in the car? My belt shredded off and didn't realize it until 10 mins after and it done damage to 2 cylinders. I know the timing gotta be out of time or guides and the tensioner in the timing is probably destroyed also.
