GOOD GOD! You have done it once again! I just bought a Vector, downloaded the manual, and started regretting having bought it. The manual is very thorough and long. But... it puts me to sleep. I then went to see if you had done a series on the Vector as you did on the Pixhawk 2.1. Sure enough, I found myself here and thanks to you, found out that the Vector is quite simple to set up. So, I need help. So, I found a servo leaded vtx cable for my vtx. However, I see that my vtx cable has a smart audio built into the servo lead, as well as the signed power, ground. Will I still receive sound?

Hi. I appreciate its a while ago now that you put these videos together and I have to say I have found them priceless in helping me put everything together. However I do have a quick question. Off the top of your head do you know what colour wire is the signal wire on the GPS mag? If not do you know I could find out. Unfortunately it's not mentioned in the manual. I'm trying to add an Arkbird AAT but don't won't to use an extra GPS unit so that I can save a bit of weight. Many thanks 👍✈️

Thank you for another great video. Why did you plug a Ubec to power the rx rather than using the Vector left side 5v?

+Guy St both are connected together via the three wire sbus cable. For the build it'll be plugged into the outputs of the Vector. Both work, but you don't want all the current for the servos pulled through the reciever in practice.

Thies videos are very helpful. I did the radio cal yesterday for my vector in my mini talon, super simple. Stick command is perfect mod switches are working and the gain pot is good, the stabilizer is backwards though. I haven't seen any way to change that in the gui. Any ideas?

This video is nearly 3 years old but cosmetically, it looks like the Vector hasn't changed in that time. I'm assuming there's a lot has been happening under the hood? I'm really interested in buying one of these and I'm just wondering if the technology is up to date? Also, @ 6:45... could you just use a regular 3 wire jumper instead? Or is the white plug different? I wouldn't want to leave those 5 yellow wires on the aircraft. It would trigger my OCD.

The Vector system doesn't play very well with the Crossfire system with anything except PPM really. Vector doesn't support CRSF and also doesn't seem to like the changing frame rates for sbus that Crossfire uses either. Hope that helps..

Hi Lee. Just watched this again as going to get my VECTOR plane finally sorted that I have had for years and never flown. It has an old L9R in it that is not really a long range receiver. I was thinking of putting an R9MM into it but, the Vector does not power the R9MM, any ideas mate? Yours gratefully. Spooky.

Hello painless, need a little help im new to modding a quad. I have the 3dr solo and want to pair it up with a tarot 2D gimbal. Says i need a voltage regulator because the gimbal needs a 3s battery source and the solo battery is 4s would you know what i need and how to do it?

+Wraith215 sounds like you need a 12v BEC, make sure it's rated high enough for the amp draw of the gimbal. Best of luck

G'day Lee, awesome videos, trying to set up my Taranis with D/L and Eagletree Vector now, have followed your setup process and copied the addition of the sub switches and channel setup but cant get software to recognise inputs. I have the vector to D/L receiver via sbus and the D/L transmitter set up via relay. I can operate servos etc buty the software doesn't let me do the rx wizard as it won't recognise the switch

Don't use stuff like mixes and dual rates until its all setup. The steps I followed to get it all working are in the series...Happy flying!

@@Painless360 Cheers Lee, after some very frustraing moments and lots of nasty words, I got it working, vector software wouldn't see the inputs when I had 16 channels selected on the D/L micro receiver, when I changed to 8, and still have the 14 recognised in the pulse train, with the D/L set up on a repeater. The vector cable set I bought has only the Ail with 3wires to plug into the Rx in , I have a D8R xp, I don't know where to plug the Ail cable in to the D8R xp. Canyon help?

I'm putting my fpv wing build together, question I have is,,, is it ok to limit servo throw, with end points say 65% and add 25% expo in the tx, and run the vector tx wizard again, will vector work fine after? ....Thanks, your videos are terrific!

I would always recommend you follow the manual for the Vector. You can add expo on the radio but I'd always be careful about reducing the limits especially if you are using elevons or V-tail..

Hi, I recently purchased the Eagletree Vector Fpv system and I have a question regarding the power setup Im hoping you can help me with. I've looked at your videos on KZbin which are great and read some threads on RCgroups.com but cannot seen to get a definite answer to my question. My question is this: Do I plug the ESC that is connected to my motor into the ESC side of the Vectors PSU? I'm confused as in the manual section 3.3 it's states that the PSU will provide 12v 1amp to the ESC connected to it but my motor at Max throttle draws 50 amps! If this is the correct setup and I do in deed need to connect the motors ESC to the vector PSU ESC side do I then need to cut the red wire coming from the throttle servo of the ESC that will plug into the vector as won't this be provide power to the vector inout/outside side also? (ie. provide power to the left side of the vector unit too) I hope I've explained myself enough for you to understand my problem and I look forward to your reply. Kind Regards, Martin

Has anyone else had their vector lock up during flight? On 2 flights my plane would quit responding to any input , I tried flying it all the way to the ground. Both times it was less than 100 yards away (good rssi) . After the first crash I added a proper backup battery per the instructions. After turning it off and back on it works again.

This series of videos is superb 👌. Sweet work. However, I cant get a picture from my camera. If I plug the camera into the vTX I get a good quality picture. If a set it up as in the video from the vector, I get a blank screen. Any ideas???

@@Painless360 yeah it looks like the signal is not getting to the camera, it is powering up OK. I measured the voltage from the vtx output and got 12v from the red and 1.2ish from the yellow. On the camera output though I got 12v from the red and 0v from the yellow. All the cables and harnesses have ben con checked and voltage checked and are good

I'm so hooked on your videos. I've been thru all TBS videos as well as Eagle Tree. Looking to control a fixed wing with Crossfire Micro RX to Eagle Tree Vector using a Futaba 14SG TX. Can't seem to get the correct wiring combination. Any help please?

You'll need to use SBUS so the connections are the same as my Matek F405/Arduplane build.. Hope that helps..

@@Painless360 some progress. Although servos are not moving in the correct direction. I realize you're busy and it's not my intention to boggle you with questions. I'm currently using a "Y" connector for the wing servos. Do I need separate extensions for the servos and if so what channels on the Vector should I connect them to?

And isn't it the case that none of the Ardupilot software products for supporting the various flavors of Pixhawk Flight Controller hardware have downloadable (ie, annotatable) PDF documentation. (I've never met a technical document that I didn't want/need to annotate the b'geezuz out of.) That's a big minus for me. If I wasn't locked into an autonomous-flight application, I'd go with the Vector system. (By the way, cudos to the Dronecode organization for beginning the task of producing PDF documents in support of the their PX4 flavor of Pixhawk.)

Hello Painless 360 is it possible that you can maybe do a tutorial on how to setup a sonar module on a pixhawk 4. Type of sonar is HC-SR04. Or maybe you can point me into a right direction or a link. I cant seem to find the setup in the internet. Greetz from MaxTech

Painless360 Yeah I know that type of wiring from arducopter😁 That did not work either . I saw some one got it working on APM flight controller . So I thaught its also possible on my PX4. But oh my lord this issue kept me awake for 24hours. I saw on a forum that a guy connetected the 4 pin JST connector on the GPS 2C port ,but if I do that my external kompass does not work. Can you maybe look in too this maybe I am over seeing something . And you are ten times more pro then I am😁😁

Hello Painless again MaxTech with an issue Since I cant get my pixhawk married with a sonar module I tried it your way with a Naze32. I got the wiring set,but I cant get the sonar enabled in clean flight or betaflight. I did your thing step by step but no joy.

*sigh* Picture this. On my vtx, there's a servo lead cable for connecting to eagle tree, where as the jst is where the vtx gets its power. If it's supposed to get power from the servo lead, do o leave the jst alone?
