Following on from the unboxing I demonstrate how you initially setup the RX/TX on the Eagletree Vector Flight Controller + OSD.
This video covers the RX Wizard and will be followed by part 2 where we setup the switches and take a look at the other functions.
Part 3 will be a look at the OSD in more depth and how you can customise it via the software.
Part 4 will be a look at controlling the Vector via the TX sticks/OSD menu system and after that I will get it in the air!

Brilliant! Just watched all of your vector set up vids, very informative and professionally done, just what I needed to set up vector in my quad with Taranis TX and xr8 RX using s-bus, the only thing I couldent see was how to set up RTH on a separate 2 way switch but hopefully I'll figure it out. Thanks Barry. Glad to hear they came in use for you. Being a Futaba man I am afraid I'd not be much help on getting RTH on a seperate switch (without it already being on one of the sub-mode switches already). one thing I learned when setting up the transmitter is that if you have dual rates programmed in a model already that you need to setup the Run Analysis RX wizard on the highest rate otherwise the Vector only sees the lower rates and that is most throw one will get.

Excellent video. The Vector costs a pretty penny however it has proven itself over the years. Sure INAV and now ardupilot can mate with a plethora of new and cheap FC's; however from what I understand ETV is simpler to put together and tends to work flawlessly.

Hi thanks for putting these videos together. Really Helped me a lot getting set up etc. One question I have is That i have chosen to use the SBUS configuration / mapping with my Dragon link everything is fine in the TX wizard . What I am experiencing during flight is once i initiate a failsafe either by TX off or selecting return to home test , the failsafe activates ok and RTH engages however the motor stops and I have to manually increase the throttle to remain on the home course. Also During my last flight I experienced an automatic flight mode change from 2DH to. Loiter mode without toggling the mode switch .. I have reloaded the firmware again just incase this was a glitch .. but if you have any ideas about the RTH throttle control , would be much appreciated . Thanks

any closer picture of both end for where you plug your BEC at power module end and Vector end .... is it you do some mod at the cable on BEC to power module end ?

great tutorial although i have a problem you suggest to fit flaps direct to reciever but my ezuhf 8 channel is all used up sp is there any way i can get flaps working and keep sub mode?

Hi there, I love your vids on the vector. very informative. I do have a question. I just got a micro vector ''cuz I heard it supports a V-tail quadcopter config. Now I hear that it does not. Not quit sure what to do now. It was suggested I should select the X frame and lower the yaw gain or rate. I'm trying to install onto a "Flite Test" Bat Bone frame in the David Windestal V-tail configuration. I don't know if you've seen Flite Test. Anyway, Do you have any suggestions? It would be quit appreciated. Thanks for your time and keep up the good work sir... Steve

could i use a ESC (with a BEC) and and have the banana plugs connect to the CS and Motor and then plug it into the throttle slot of the OSD? This so that the battery power is coming straight from the throttle. is it okay to that?

What are your failsafe setting in the futaba tx. I cant seem to get past the config wizard

also can i use usb talk to the fc at the same time plug the lipo power the board? will i burn the board if i do so?

Yes you can without any problems at all. It makes setup via the software much better doing it this way as you can calibrate your voltage readings as well as see the output of the OSD too.

i am new to this fc..i would like to know the following 1) can i plug all 4 esc with red cable (the 5v one) as spear power to the fc or only can afford one? 2) is vector has "fellow me" feature like pichwak ?

1) Not sure i fully understand the question. The vector uses its own power supply to power the FC, however you also need a second source of power (an ESC with a BEC in it or a seperate BEC to power the RX and/or servos off it). You can use the 5v red cable to power the RX too if you want but a seperate BC is a safer option. 2) No - would be nice though as it is a fun feature.

Please excuse my ignorance!! I'm setting up my vector on the bench with all the other equipment to program it and ensure its all working before fitting it to my Skywalker. I'm a bit confused, I will be using a ubec like you (SBEC actually), I see you have tapped into the output of the power module for the UBEC, am I right in thinking the the ESC will plug into the power module then the BEC wires from the ESC go to the throttle channel of the reciever (with the positive wire removed)? Sorry if this seems like a bone question but I'm looking at it and my brain has frozen!! Barry

Thank you. You video helped a lot. But I have ran into a problem. Ok. My osd is working. My receiver is bound. I'm connected with ppm. I did the rx analysis wizard. I have a pan servo connected directly to my rx. When I power everything up, I have osd, my pan works but none of my rx\tx controls work. I can't figure out why.

Can't use the GUI to calibrate ESCs together, if youre building it out as a multirotor. The only way I've found was to use BLHeli ESCs and a passthrough and BLHeli Suite. So, if you prefer KISS ESCs, like I do. . . you are out of luck. It's almost $200 if you want to have RTL. For that amount, I'd expect a more intuitive and industry standard way of calibrating ESCs.

Having issues with my V-tail, in stab-off only one servo works as for pitch. when in 2D+Hold it works fine. BUT i never have the correct rudder control, the rudder is just pitching the v-tail up and down.

Ahhhhhh, brain freeze cleared! Throttle, ele, rudder, ail, gain and mode to Vector, then flaps, pan, tilt etc direct to RX. Phew, I think that's right......

I will do a few for Multirotors in general. Due to the crappy windy weather I have literally just finished building what I call a Phantom 1.V (V for Vector).... basically used my old Phantom 1 shell that was laying around, strapped the Vector into and powering it with a 4s.... should be entertaining! Anyway as part of doing that I will be using it to show the 'stick menu' setup (adjusting settings in the field via the OSD and not the software). Everything I do on that will be relevent to Hexs. If needed I will also do a seperate setup video using the software too.

HI i have a problem with my ailerons i have exactly the same futaba 14sg an check my servos with another receiver and all the time after the analisys wizard when i finish i unplug the USB cable for check if the servos work but those ailerons are locked on one side i mean the plane turn and climb or dive and i can not fix that with sub trim.T on the video the motor start at throttle midpoint like with multirotor end the motor is DJI E600 but after reverse now it work perfectly... how to keep the aileron at the center point?
