🤣🤣🤣LMAO!!!🤣🤣🤣 You definitely got me in the funny bone Nick when you slipped in that “The last thing you need out at sea is loose stools”, lol. Perfect comedic timing my friend. Perfect. 👍🏻😎👍🏻 This Fairline is probably the most perfect planing hull set up I’ve seen thus far. I have a hard time embracing much of the overly modernized interior of a lot of these vessels either approaching or actually being in the category of super yachts. They just seem to have a cold feeling that’s not very “nautical” if that makes sense. But the folks at Fairline have done a spectacular job of softening the edges while leaving an upper level quality appearance without losing the nautical feel of that interior. The cabin layout including a separate genuine utility space in a central location along with the practical amenities make this vessel SO perfectly appointed as a legitimate live aboard yacht. I would be perfectly comfortable living full time aboard this vessel and not feel I was making any compromises. Fairline really hit the mark here with this Squadron 68. It is damn near perfect as an under 80 foot planing hull style yacht. And something that is quite rare for me is how completely I love the interior of this vessel. Wow. A legitimate WOW, lol. 👍🏻😎👍🏻

There's some really smart, quality of life, features here. The adjustable fridge/ freezer capacity. Portable audio additions, 4th cabin/ day heads/ utility room config options ( I was thinking 'what a waste not to put a washer/dryer in there till I saw it elsewhere). It's like they gathered up a bunch of repeat owner-operators and said "tell us what would make everyday improvements for you" or they just told their naval architects & designers "make a boat that YOU'd live on for a month" The fly bridge is outstanding with such a massive amount of useable room and the sense to leave a decent section fixture/ fitting free to allow adaptable owner use. I can see a DJ setup back of it and a party for plenty for the night with space to bbq, shuffle to the beats, sit down and lounge out all at the same time then a networking event for 10-20 the next day ( well perhaps the Monday after!) Now quick question: Does anyone know a Russian whose brought one and needs to offload it at a good price (( my apologies, Friday afternoon mischievousness meant I couldn't stop myself))

"The last thing you need out to sea is loose stools," said Nick in this video. Not sure if this means the same thing in the UK as it does in the US, but I'll give him credit either way. I grew up on the Mississippi River "messing about in boats," as they say in Wind in the Willows. It gets in your blood and I have to admit I check this site every few days to dream about the boat I will one day own in the Florida Keys for trips to the Bahamas and Jamaica. For now, as a Minnesotan, I'm heading to Lake of the Woods on the Canadian border over St. Pat's Day weekend and will drive my truck at least 10 miles onto the ice to go fishing with my equally stupid friends. It's March, wish us luck!

@Chalto2 жыл бұрын
I keep thinking I've seen the nicest boat yet, and then you go and show another even better. Fairline have simply done an amazing job with this boat, and the craftsmanship is top notch for sure. Love the utility area, rather than see bits crammed into smaller spaces. If I had the money for such a nice boat, this would be close to the top, but because I want to be less reliant on fossil fuels, electric will be top, just as with my car.
@CydeWeys2 жыл бұрын
Agreed on your last point. These boats are so fossil-fuel-intensive, and yet, you hardly ever even see a single solar panel on them even though they seemingly would work so well to handle ancillary electrical needs on these boats. The roof of the flybridge, for example: Rather than being retractable, if it were solid and had solar panels on it, you could get several kW of capacity out of it from having solar panels on top, which would help save a lot of diesel that would otherwise be burnt by the generator to run the ship's systems and lighting. Yet none of the yacht manufacturers seem to do this? The yachts already have the batteries for it!

This is a very nice 68 foot boat/live aboard. I could see myself living on this boat if I lived along the coast. The utility room down stairs, I'd have a washer and dryer separately instead of a combo unit because they do fail and you can't fix it yourself most times and have to get help to fix it. I like this boat and I really appreciate the next video of the sea trial of it. I seen this video 2 years ago but missed the sea trial and I remember now I just have surgery an forgot to watch it. I'm pretty sure buying one of these new isn't an option for the vast majority of us (could be wrong). But since I've been checking out yacht world once in a while I look at these with an eye to 10 years or more in the future. Add ten to twenty years to that beautiful boat and it IS something a lot of people could manage if they really wanted to. You're not going to want to wait that long but just know there are boats available now that were fantastic 10-20 years ago that have probably been well taken care of.
