In CN the word used doesn't refer to raw combat power, it's talking about overall strength for the harbingers. For example, Pantalone may actually be considerably weaker than Childe in combat, but the fact he runs the Northland Bank and brings in funding for the Fatui allows him to rank higher because the POWER he adds to the fatui OVERALL comes from money. Same with Pulcinella being a government official. Even without that nuance, ranking the last few by strength is incredibly difficult because we know next to nothing about their combat prowess. - So many people have suggested that the plague doctor mask belongs to Dottore not Pulcinella. I disagree. The reason being is that Dottore is not a medical Doctor. His title is, "The Professor" which implies that he's someone who either has or is pursuing his doctorate degree. He's a PhD. Pulcinella generally has a mask in the commedia that has a reeeeeaaaalllly long nose, so I'm sticking with my original predictions there. - A lot of you asked where the hersey symbol came from. Best I can offer is that it came from the symbol of the "Sacred Heart" which, through Jansenism, became associated with heresy over time. At least as far as I can tell. - It's also been brought to my attention two things about the hand with a flame. The first is that it's actually called a "Hand of Glory" which is a hand that's been cut off a criminal or a dead person and turned into a candle or candle holder. You can google details yourself but it's kinda gross. The second thing is that Arlecchino runs an orphanage called the "House of Hearth" and you light a hearth with a flame, so I think my "process of elimination" actually worked in my favor here. - Note that some genders of unmet harbingers may not be accurate in this video. Some of the characters I've classified as men might be women for example. A lot of the harbingers are referred to in CN with gender neutral terms. - I'm also aware that we don't have an exact date for Signora's recruitment, but it feels extremely far-fetched to assume she wandered the world for over 50 years in a constant state of deterioration. It's possible, but I'm very very skeptical.

The role thing 100% makes sense when you realise that Tartaglia's role seems to basically be 'do whatever we need you to do in the moment'. Like he's currently chasing down Scaramouche likely because he's the one who'd be most free to do so. It's not that his role doesn't matter, it's that his seems to be the most flexible.

Childe's role is more of an chaos agent, what I mean by using term chaos agent is a thing/unity/person that role is destabilising one particular area, entity which provides some kind of danger that must be dealt with as quickly as possible and cannot be ignored. He becomes the centre of everyone's attention and adds a lot of pressure, so other Fatui harbingers can conduct their plans and schemes much more easily and smoothly. It's something like placing a nuke with timer in enemy's city

Well that’s just taking into account different places in relation to other places (like Enkanomiya time vs Teyvat time) but I don’t think there’s any reason to believe all the harbingers before Signora are from places other than Teyvat. There could be other reasons they’re all really old but we would have to find those out. And it would also mean all these harbingers are from cataclysm time which seems outlandish right now

There's more evidence to prove Pantalone being associated with the word 'gift' as in one of Yelan's character stories it mentions that he intended to gift the tsarista a jacket but Yelan intruded the operation and essentially stole it from him. But aside from that, I never even considered the harbingers being numbered according to their roles. This was such an amazing theory

The jacket she wears now used to be covered with the fur of a mystical beast that went extinct AGES ago, but she didn't like how it looked so she scraped it off. That jacket was meant to be a gift from Pantalone to the Tsaritsa.

@@acat5104 usually 1 is the goalkeeper, 2-5 are defenders, 6 and 8 are duo that work together a lot, 10 is the captain, usually placed behind the strikers, 9 is the striker, and 7 and 11 are wingers. However this is just the culturally presumed roles for each number and isn't necessarily applied to players in a lot of cases.

I actually had this thought that the world of genshin is just a big act. Especially considering that archon quests are separated through acts and that, in the manga, when Vennessa enters Celestia, it looks like one of those big stadiums.

The glimpse of Celestia we see in the manga is more similar to a Panopticon , which is a jail where the cells are all facing a huge column where the jailers watch them simultaneously en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Panopticon thus suggesting that 'ascending' mortals is a way for the Heavenly Principles to effectively take the most powerful (and potentially dangerous) mortals under 'direct custody', so to speak. However, it is true that the Panopticon itself takes a lot of inspiration to ancient theatres and pleasure gardens, as the wiki mentions, so your idea has some very valid points as well.

For some reasons, fighting the Fatui Harbringers in potentially each chapter feels like the equivalent of battling the Flamechasers in the Elysian Realm storyline in HI3. For every battle, Raiden Mei unlocks some of the Flamechasers truth and reasons, even though they are memory avatars in the realm. This goes the same for the traveller, though its better to pay attention to the details and progression. So far the 11 Fatui Harbringers and 13 Flamechasers have several similarities/parallels; - assigned codenames/alias - Harbringers constellations are akin to Flamechasers signets - underwent body alteration (delusions and experimentation, MANTIS surgery) - both battles involves defying the fate of destruction set in stone - their lores unlocked when certain quests/actions are done (Genshin through Archon/Character/Event/World Quests and reading the item lores closely, Honkai involves battles and reaching a certain level of each Flamechaser signet) - both groups have their own hidden agenda, which sometimes involves taking out each other - both involves somewhat distorted time-space to some extent (Honkai with bubble universes/anchors/quantum sea, Genshin with Abyss/chaotic spaces/domains) - some members are playable (female Flamechasers due to Honkai system, Tartagila is only playable Harbringer for now in Genshin) - some members are partly dead in a metamorphical sense (Elysian realm Flamechasers are sims/memory avatars with only a few still alive in flesh, Harbringers situation are highlighted in artifacts/leylines, which stores memories)

As always excited for your video 🥰, the only thing I can suggest as an Italian is that all your pronunciations are all PERFECT (as they are named after legit Italian masks of our cities tradition + Italian as Signora = the lady today too, pantalone = trousers) except Arlecchino which is pronounced as Arlekkeeno. Same for Pistacchio. My understanding of “numerology” is very similar, if you find this helpful: 1: first born, masculine forceful energy. Also known as the fool (the hero’s journey), 2: feminine energy, the mother, union, partnerships of all kinds. Balance. 3: Creation. The 2 create 3. Creativity, imagination and abundance also work. 4: marriage, union in a traditional/religion way. Stability. 4 is sturdy foundation. 5: Conflict. Drama, tension. At best, playful teasing. Excellent video as always, I did have a couple of thoughts that I think further reinforce a couple of points you said: Firstly, regarding "Tartaglia" and "responsibility", I think it's also worth noting his attitude towards his family, and in particular his story quest/Teucer. It's the definition of responsibility in terms of reliability as opposed to the "responsible = causal" definition. Tartaglia changes his behaviour in order to protect Teucer, and even though there are arguments about the morality of that, I think it's a responsible older brother thing to at least try and protect the innocence of your younger siblings as much as you can. The second point I'd like to make is regarding your proposed constellation for Arlecchino - Because I agree completely and I think it's worth nothing that a hand holding a (shadowed/blacked out) flame is actually a perfect fit when you consider that the character of Arlecchino covets someone else's loved one, and that "love" and "fire" often share imagery - People refer to a previous love as an 'old flame', there's the expression "burning love", and of course romance and passion are often associated with feelings of fire and burning, to name a few examples. This means that the symbol of a hand cradling a flame is a solid choice for someone who desires love/romance themselves, and there could be an argument that the flame being greyed out is symbolic of that flame being unattainable or untrue in some way... Or could just be a stylistic choice. Who can say? Anyway thanks again for another great video, I'm already looking forwards to the next one :D

I think you are spot on! I just wanted to say that in numerology: Number 11 is a number which helps you get through hardships or darkness, inner strength in times of trial, coping well with crisis and chaos. But the number 6 is the number most associated with love, family and home life... which contradicts Scaramouche's story. It'd be ironic and almost cruel... which it makes sense. Then number 8 is highly associated with femenine figures, cycles and infinity. Also with wealth and status... reminds me of Signora a lot, since she talked about her high status, elegance, and even in the Tenshukaku scene, she talks about her position in society. Also the number 4 finds its higher purpose is in the “doing", but that's it. Dottore doesn't have the other qualities of the number. Perfection and structure are the perfect definitions of the number four... maybe the puppet, as seen perfect. If the gnosticism is related to Celestia, maybe the Tsaritsa doesn't want her troops following their pattern. That's what I think about numerology but I do also think that you are absolutely right. Just my lil theory!

@@lastorderx20001 Tartaglia's power in comparison to the Traveler is murky at best as during the first half of the fight he wasn't taking them seriously simply toying with us until he got a prime shot at the Exuvia as even Paimon was able to figure out. Then when the second half starts his primary focus is still the Gnosis believing them to either have taken it and/or hidden it as he spends the majority of the fight demanding we either hand it over or tell him where it is effectively tying his hands as he would need us alive/conscious to tell him add the strain of TFLTDD, he effectively lost a war of attrition. His story quest further calls into question the outcome of the fight.

Nice theory! I'm excited to see how it matches up to reality. Btw, in Italian, if there is an "h" after a "c," it makes a "k" sound. (Same with "g" actually, "h" makes it a hard "guh" sound instead of a "j" sound. That's why spaghetti and ghetto are pronounced the way they are.) The rules are a little more complicated as to when the "c" makes the "ch"ild sound. Basically if the "c" or the "g" is followed by a "e" or an "i," they make the soft "ch"ild or the "j" sound, but if they are followed by an "o" or an "a," then they make the hard sound, no "h" necessary. Point is, the "h" is there to turn what would be a soft sound into a hard sound, so if you see an Italian word with a "c" followed by an "h," it is a "k" sound. TL;DR: Arlekkino.

Although, let's be honest--it's not like Genshin is fantastic in its Italian pronunciation, especially in the English dub. Who knows how they'll end up saying all the names. Italian pronunciations: Tartaglia: Tar-ta-lia (the g is supposed to make you move the sound further back in your throat, but you DO NOT pronounce it) (just like you don't say the "g" in "Signora") (EDIT: Scaramouche is apparently French! So his name doesn't abide by Italian pronunciation. How people normally say it is fine! Yay!) For the other ones, Italian doesn't have silent vowels or silent "e"s or whatever. So all of the "e" endings should sound like "eh" at the end. Eg. SandronEH, PantalonEH All Italian words end in one of the four vowels "e" "i" "o" "a" "i" generally means a noun is plural. "o" or "a" are always singular. "e" can be either. The implications of this are fantastic of course. "Spaghetti" is referring to multiple noodles. If you only had one noodle, it would be a "spaghetto." Alrighty. I'm done.

After signora's death, those two fatui diplomats in mondstadt did say that her seat will be filled by someone more powerful. That sorta implies that the numbers are seats to be filled according to a certain role, and anyone can take that place rather than the number being directly tied to the character by either order of recruitment, strength or seniority. In other words, not only does that completely eliminate the option of order of recruitment but we can conclude that each harbinger has a role to play, much like in the commedia, but are also dispensable and can be replaced with other 'actors' as long as their role is fulfilled.

Signora's replacement will likely never be relevant in the game because we might just get to the end of the journey before that. It's the implication of 'seat to be filled' the two fatui mentioned that is important here. As for the two fatui, it's true they might just be gossiping, but I'm taking all crumbs into consideration.

But what if we swap constellations of Arleccino and Capitano? I think clawed hand with a flame seems fairly... combatative? While "passion" nails might be relating how love is suffering and also how Christ is a part of a trinity, UNITY of God and a man. EDIT: OKAY LISTEN "passion nails" are definitely Arlecchino. The character of the commedia dell'arte has his origins in MEDIEVAL PASSION PLAYS. If the nails do reffer to the Passion of the Christ, which they definitely do, it's too much of a coincidence for them NOT to be related to Arlecchino

This does makes a lot of sense. Also it was mentioned somewhere in Yelan's voice over or story that Pantalone is actually gonna give Tsaritsa a gift which supports this theory. Also in a quest in Inazuma where Arlecchino was mentioned, the fatui in shrine maiden has two identities, which I can relate to "duality". Not directly the fatui harbinger but watching this vid made me remember that quest and it makes sense that HYV kind of like giving info/hint about Arlecchino.

Okay, hear me out here: What if Pantalone and Arlecchino’s constellations were switched? It almost seems like to me that the constellation you assigned to Arlecchino, (the hand/claw one) could almost be likened to a hand grasping around an anatomically shaped human heart. This would liken it to Arlecchino’s goal to “grasp” and “stop” the “heart” of the world through Mora. The constellation you assigned to Pantalone (the hand) could be like the “dirtied hands” of someone who is unfaithful in a relationship (Kind of like how you said it was like the saying involving grease and hands and money [I forgot the saying and I can’t play the video again right now]). This could also make sense due to how the finger that is split through the middle is the ring finger. (That split could also be a ring itself). This is just my own personal thoughts based on how I interpreted the shape of the claw constellation! Please feel free to add onto my thoughts or tell me your own! :D

I also thought that the constellation she assigned to Arlecchino looked like a hand grasping a heart and would be more fitted for Pantalone, given all his lines about stopping the flux of mora/heart at the Harbinger's will! But I would assign to Arlecchino the constellation with the three nails, mostly because in the Commedia dell'Arte Arlecchino is said to be extremely thin (to be able to fit in the colorful patchwork dress that Colombina made him) and in Italian we have the say "to be as thin as a nail". This leaves Capitano with the hand constellation for process of exclusion!

I'm here waiting what Ishikai is about to say from that Interlude video. Great prediction. Now there were some really interesting details about the Harbingers themselves that lift a few questions and give hints to answer some. The Pantallone semblance with Baizhu is interesting enough. Dottore using multiple "Segments" (basically horcruxs) of himself (and even maybe inside his experiments... cough... Collei). Sandrone and the striking resemblance with our beloved Adventure Guild Katheryne and her role of surveillance of Teyvat under the guise of the adventurer's guild (and maybe even how Fatui information is distributed between themselves in an inconspicuous manner). Pierro and his relation to Khaen'riah. Scaramouche harnesing the power of the Gnosis and its Divine Gaze. Signora being dead for good (or not... due to her themes). There is just so much information behind that trailer. This will be a field day to all Lore theorists.

ah yes, I remember the conversations with Schwan on biblical numerology as well, so very glad to see it make its way into a full theory video! One note about Pulcinella: you don't have to reach to his 'Rooster' title for the mask, though it certainly helps. According to Pulcinella's wikipedia page, his mask looks like: "His nose varies, but is always the most prominent feature of the mask by far. It can be long and curved, hooking over the mouth, or it can be shorter, with a more bulbous bridge. But either way, the nose is to resemble a bird's beak." Though I would add the additional caveat that none of the Harbinger's constellations we've seen up to this point (Signora, Tartaglia) have any basis in actual commedia, instead adhering to their in-game storylines, so grains of salt, as always, with constellations. Though I do wonder if Hoyoverse had to assign commedia-based constellations to some of the later ones such as Columbina and Pulcinella, because those are suspiciously perfect for their roles.

I on the other hand think that the constellation she attributed to Pulcinella is actually Il Dottore constellation. I don't have any substantial evidence other than when I see it it screams to me "plague doctor" and that would be perfect for Dottore. Seriously look up pictures of plague doctor masks if you haven't seen one already.

I still think that their numbering is tied to their strength, mostly because of Yae Miko's quote about Scaramouche "He is №6 of the Fatui Harbingers, in terms of strength he is superior to Signora", so the number is indeed somehow connected to strength. I just think that "strength" doesn't mean only brute force in combat but the mindgames and a power of brain as well, that's why some of harbingers who doesn't seem to do field work and only operates distantly still consider being stronger than others.
