(2) ASSA d12 (Level 1) Picked and Gutted

This is a pick and gut of the level one ASSA d12. This lock has winged key pins, countermilling and the newer style spools. ASSA considers this lock to be their new medium security offering. In my next video I plan on picking the level 2 d12 which has an elongated pin.

Sick picking! It looks like that low first pin was the last binder before the lock opened. Would you have been able to pick it open if one of the high inner pins were the last binder?

That's sick! I would like to ask what the difference between the level 1 and level 2 of D12 is... You have picked both, right?

It is actually called D13(the lower standard one). It is not copy-protected. D12 is. It also doesn't have the long pins/"sidebar".

This is the D13 not the D12. The D12 has a small sidecut on the key in front and also the key marking is in numbers on the d12 and letters on the D13. Nice job anyways! :)

kararam nah your wrong it’s most definitely a D12.pause at 29 second mark and it’s clearly marked on key a D12.

kararam The only thing that differs the D13 from the D12 is that you don´t need the “BLUE PLASTIC KEY” when you want to make more copies of your keys.
