Yes, my older sister would make this fudge when we were growing up with black walnuts in it because we had a tree in our yard. There was only one pan that she used because it was a heavier pan. I still remember her buttering up a platter. So good.

Hi Tammy! I made your butter toffee tonight….my very first time making a candy of any kind. It came out pretty good. A bit chewy…did I not boil it long enough maybe? It does taste absolutely amazing and I’m pretty proud of myself for not wrecking it. Haha. I watched this video 3 times before trying it. Thank you for helping me make a beautiful Christmas candy to give as gifts.

The last time I made fudge I timed it cooking and it was 18 minutes on my stove top. Almonds are harmful to dogs. Cause digestion and tummy issues. I always google before giving my dog anything. I love your hair.

I have your toffee on my to do list this week, I looooooove toffee and yours always looks so good. Don’t depend on the thermal for accuracy, I use it to see how close it’s getting, double check with instant or candy thermometer for accuracy. Your brave to do these candies on a live. My grandmother put a tablespoon of corn syrup in her old fashioned fudge she swore it prevents crystallization.

My grandfather made Hersheys cocoa fudge every year for Christmas and there were a few batches that were crystallized but the flavor was still good. When he passed my mom and I took to making the fudge in his memory. One year I don’t know what we did but it turned to caramel!! Mom wrapped little bite sized pieces in wax paper and tossed them in a tin. They were yummy too. Wonderful memories.

My mom had 9 children and never had the patients for candies like fudge. One year it wouldn't set up; and the next, it would be hard and like you described, sugar crystals were very noticeable! She made most of our Christmas gifts and laid out the most beautiful Christmas table for our family and both grandparents, an aunt who lived her entire life on my dad's family farm, and my great grandma, aka Nanny, who my mom took in, after she broke a hip, and she lived with us, and thrived, until we moved from eastern MI, to Eastern upstate NY. Her sons moved her to a nursing home, where she died within a couple years, going from healthy and participating in family events, to drugged and cussing, when she never cussed in her life! I digress. We didn't have much, but Christmas was made so special. She would make styrofoam trees covered in olives and crab apples, everything was fancy and we all dressed up in velvet dresses mom made for us! This was in the late 60s and 70s! Mom is 85 now, and all 9 children are still alive, three live in northern IN, where mom moved, a few years after my dear dad died way too early, from complications after gall bladder surgery. They both left us with the best family memories, we still talk about today! Many memories are based around special recipes!!

✍Hello Tammy and Chris and fur babies🐾🐾🐾 I plan on making the Peanut Brittle, Toffee and maybe the Fudge. I've still not recovered from my Cancer surgery and Heart Attack but I've been praying for strength🙏 I did get my large Manger put up on top of my entertainment center which is about 45-50 inches long. My mom and dad made it for me and my husband 61 years ago. The main piece of the manger is like a very small dog house but just a back and left side and an opening like a door casing and everything else is open. I wish I knew how to send a picture to you cause its really nice and probably will be all I can physically be able to put up. I'm going to try to put my small tree up but not sure. Tell Chris I hope he'll be feeling better soon. Tammy, when I had Shingles just a few years ago it was probably just like yours...just a light case of them. Everybody is different with the Shingles can be very light to severe. I'm just glad yours wasn't like my friends that I told you about. Hers was also on her back but it was a severe case and 4 years later has got permanent nerve damage from them. So you and I are the lucky ones. Well Good Night😴 Enjoyed you sharing the making of Christmas Candy for us...yum God Bless LuvYa! Bye from NE Ohio🌹🎄❄⛄

Momma’s old fashion fudge was nothing like this . Momma used 3 cups of sugar, 2/3 c cocoa and mix well in a heavy bottom saucepan. Add 2/3 cup of milk and stir constantly until it has a rolling boil . Do not stir anymore. Butter a 8x8 pan , get 1/2 stick of butter/margarine ready and 2 tsp vanilla. I cook mine 18 minutes, remove from heat stir a few minutes, add butter and vanilla, pour into your buttered pan . Let sit for 30 minutes, check to see if you can cut into squares. I get 36 pieces of fudge per batch. Momma’s peanut butter fudge was easy and delicious too. These looks delicious. Love ya! ❤I’m making that Butter Toffee. Yum!!!
