I think adding Ham as Sohla's co-chef in these challenges was the best idea ever! Love having them both cook together, Sohla exudes chaotic genius energy while Ham brings the calm to the pairing. Couple goals tbh.

I gotta say, I love how Ham really stuck to the spirit of the show. Tasting his dish and admitting that the banana flavor doesn't come through, and then taking the time to amend the situation is exactly what I wanted to see. It wasn't enough that the dish had banana in it, but the banana had to have a purpose in the dish.

I really enjoyed this, especially seeing Sohla and Ham working together - even finding out the origins of the banana polenta, I’m impressed by how quickly they’re able to imagine dishes! I would say that the video editing was a bit manic, just for my personal taste - I would’ve liked it more if they were given say, an hour and a half, so they could cook in a more relaxed energy and talk a little as they went along. The close up shots are always super interesting to see too, but with all the additional text on screen it was a little hard to take in the details.

I love how well they synch and harmonize and support each other. It could help that they are married, but that also could work against some couples under pressure. I think the pressure shows what kind of people they are. My only negative is I wish they didn't put msg in everything (or anything tbh) Food is delicious w/out it and when you use it often it changes your palate to need that amped up quality to where food w/out it seems lacking.
