I think what's happening is a lot of games have sound options as well as Windows having sound options as well as OBS having sound options and I think obviously all of those things need to be aligned or you're not going to have sound.

Do you have a video on aligning all of those things? I use StreamLabs obs and am using 2 PC's, but this audio issue is ALL that stands in my way. A meaningful explanation or video would speak volumes more than stating the obvious. Once again, your assistance is appreciated.

I have noted in the past however that if I do have sound issues it is either the in-game sound options, Windows sound options or simply the elgato sound capture not being on.

Ok, I have everything setup, HOWEVER, I can only see my desktop screen on my stream pc. When I start my game on my gaming pc it’s only showing the desktop still.

Sometimes when I have an issue with any capture card I deactivate the capture card in OBS and reactivate the capture card. that usually fixes most of the problems. If it is still only capturing your desktop try playing the game in windowed full screen.

Ok I went to windowed and dragged it all the way to the right side of my gaming pc screen and it showed up on my streaming pc window. It appears that the game window is not aligned with my streaming pc window. Any idea on how I can fix this?

@@grantedlund7469 if you are using a multi-monitor setup you're just going to have to make sure that the gaming window is on the monitor that the gaming capture card is instructed to pick up. Full screen windowed mode on the designated capture monitor.

Sorry that seemed like a stupid question. What I mean is do I need to have my capture card connected to game capture Hd with this setup. I noticed that when you add video capture device you pick ELGATO GAME CAPTURE. I have 2 options, game capture hd60+ and Elgato game Capture HD. I do not have my HD60 connected to the Elgato Game capture HD software.

Just got the HD60S+ (yes it has the plus) and it captures just the desktop of my gaming PC only along with the taskbar, so no icons even show on the desktop.. No icons or games will display on the capture utility sadly as well. Any ideas?

Same issue. Plugging the HD60 into your gaming PC makes the PC treat HD60 as its own monitor. Because of this, your OBS is capturing the HD60 like it’s a 2nd monitor, so your main monitor (the one you’re gaming on) is not being captured. I don’t know how to fix this.

I am only struggling with the audio part.. The sound capture program for me just mutes my headset.. I get no game sound at all.. and there is no sound being played through obs either.. Everything else I have working.

The only thing I could think of is make sure all the appropriate boxes are ticked correctly. What I mean by that is make sure in the audio capture program you're broadcasting to the appropriate speaker source and then on the gaming and the streaming PC you have the same boxes ticked. For me personally I have two very similar realtek audio devices and I have to make sure the appropriate one is selected or I won't hear anything.

You didn't mention the step on what to set on you gaming pc for Display option. My streaming pc does not show any picture, until I go to my gaming pc and set the display to DUPLICATE DISPLAY. Basically everything involving your stream like the microphone, the camera it's all hooked up to the streaming pc. I have hot keys set up on the streaming PC that also control the scenes. The only thing the gaming PC does is play the game.

I have discord on my streaming PC and do this pretty frequently. It really just depends on whether or not you're using voice chat in game or strictly discord to communicate. The only work around I can think of if you're using in-game voice chat is to just have two microphones.

This is set up so you can communicate with team members via discord. If you want to communicate with them with an in-game program you're going to have to have the microphone hooked up to the gaming computer.

well, i might be the first to say, but ive tried in many many configs...but the way you hooked them up...well it didnt work for me quite the same, all it was doing was extending my gaming pc display, the long way.....anyways, i pluged the usbc into the gaming pc, the usb side to it, then the hdmi went into the streaming, thats directed from the "in" port on the elgato, same as usbc, the the out to the monitor...dont worry your video isnt the only one recommending your config. as of now it seems like the obs doesnt see the card but im still working on that...am i wrong..i have the s+ but isnt it the same??

You can have speakers or a headset hooked up to the gaming PC if you want but you're using the elgato sound capture software to hear everything on the streaming PC.
