Shady: Craudaunt had sturdy not focus sash. Dylan: you chose a different region at the beginning, so the pokemon the rival gets is random. Shady (forgetting a strat he figured out many months ago) forced the rival into a certain starter by keeping the kanto region. Now he seems to just choose kanto out of habit and may have forgot the strat due to PTSD or something from prolonged exposure to rad red. Loving the series you guys and definitely agree that pairs being boxed after battles is the way to go bc otherwise it's the same as let's say shady knowing a mon is gonna faint and Dylan contributing to play until he needs to sack a mon then both things happening at the same time. For continuity of the battle it's better to keep on playing and just knowing there's a sack mon in party. Also double battle strat is legit 6 mons on you chose your 3 and have your partners 3 in back. If mons just so happen to overlap in a pair that you both tend to use that's cool.

You know the awkward moments in soul links when a pair dies and the partner is on the feild so you have to do a forced swichout. Or when a dead partner gets dragon tailled/roared out and you have to do a forced swich. THAT feels 10x more janky then the rule implemented this episode so i am 100% in favor of this rule change. It makes more sense then how it worked previously.

Agree, and also it makes it so the player with the better team doesn't get more of an advantage in a hard fight. Like if Shady has already killed 4/6 mons and then loses something, while Dillon is still on 2/6 mons that is pretty brutal.

NO one I know of does the death after fight rule... but RadRed is designed to be played with precise team building which you can't do... it's a fair rule to make the attempt possible.

I've done that in my own soul links since I've started 5 years ago. I have a different variation though. I have it so that if I switch in the "dead" pokemon I'm not allowed to switch again. I call it the "final stand clause". They either die trying to take down as many opponent mons as possible or they win and die after the fight.

I've seen a last stand rule where you immediately send in the partner until they die. That way, they get a chance to put in some damage on the way out.

I have not yet watched the video, but I wanted to comment how much I enjoyed the breakdown at the beginning that showed what the toughest party had to throw at them. It made me respect the difficulty more and know what to look for. I'd like to ask that a similar rundown be done in each episode to inform those of us (like myself) who have been out of the pokemon game for enough that this helps us, even if it's just for Giovanni, gym leader, etc.

Went to Universal Studios in Japan this year maybe biased as it is the 1st major theme park I've been to but I loved it, Harry Potter World and Nintendo Land were both cool to visit, you don't see any of the other park while you're there with helps with the immersiveness of each area.
