Wanted to chime in with our Dometic fridge issue. We noticed our 12v plug didn’t work well with our teardrop battery or even plugged into our Jeep. We’re having to use the plug into our inverter. The husband just bought a new 12v plug hoping it’ll fix the issue. 🤞 Thanks for taking us along on your camping trip!

Hmmm, appreciate the feedback. Let us know what happens. Definitely think it has to do with power getting from battery to cooler off grid. As long as the battery is getting charged it seems to function just fine. Driving me nuts... Maybe the battery isn't giving enough of a surge to kick it on?

We've switch all the batteries in our RVs to golf cart batteries. They last longer even if the RV is rarely used. I think they can handle being discharged due to none use better than standard batteries.

My wife + I like cold koffie in the summer + the easiest way for us is fill a liter jug with milk + water (half a litre each ) 4 Tea spoons instant koffie + soluble sweetener to taste. Leave in fridge overnight. Roy, Holland.

I have a portable solar panel that I don’t even use. My camping scheme is to travel to a location, camp overnight, repeat. I am able to recharge my batteries through the vehicle alternator. There are various dc to dc chargers that allow you to charge faster though I need to understand how these devices won’t stress my existing alternator.

I have two Relion lithium batts on my Overkill trailer with a Dometic frig. Last year (winter in Montana) I would get these weird temporary low voltage readings down to single digits which set of f the interior CO2, LP alarms and that drove the dogs nuts. It stayed that way for a couple of hours then reset to double digits. It was overcast, LT snow and the trailer was on shore power the night before. Mystery. It occurred two days in a row. I called Overkill (while they were still in business) and was told that is impossible without a hard reboot on the whole system, even though I sent them a screen shot of the wireless battery monitor. Turns out the Planar thermostat had an outdated software program on it which caused the problem. Once I got home I called Planar, and they shipped me a replacement thermostat before I could even remove the old one and send it back. Boom, problem solved and no repeats. I did go out and get a Jackery 1500 pro ($1500 on-line at Costco with two 100 watt panels. Reg price is $2400) just in case. In 4-5 trips since then Ive never had to use the Jackery but its peace of mind having it. And its a good addition to emereency stuff at home.

I don't have a trailer, but have an RTT and camp galley in the back of my XJ for my wife and me. I pretty much run for a weekend on solar and an 800 wh plus a 300 wh solar generator and a 100 watt panel. I use a 37 quart (34 liter) and a CPAP and never run out of power. The caveat is that I don't do as much rain camping as you guys do (Northeast Nevada), but I think all you would need is 1KwH or a 100 AH Lithium with about 200 watts for a folding panel and you should be good.
@WheresWiseman6 ай бұрын
Your setup sounds perfect 👌🏻 Yeah, we're looking at upgrading to a 200 Ah lithium and that should keep us good for almost a week with some solar assistance. We also found a way to use our bluetti ac50 to charge up while driving and then charge the trailer at camp if needed 👍🏻
@TimRoyalPastortim6 ай бұрын
@@WheresWiseman Yeah, I charge both of my generators fully while traveling - plug the smaller one into the larger one and the larger one into the truck's 12 volts. 200 AH sounds perfect. Look at heated lithium for your winter camping - that would keep you as all-weather as your AGM does. That 200-watt panel is HUGE! Great trip, enjoying your content!

Definitely heated!! And yeah that thing is a beast lol. Thanks for the support!

I have 1000 W Bouge RV power station that I used to run my fridge. What happens is that the fridges cycle on and off. When my Bouge power station gets the signal from the refrigerator that it is not pulling power, after a while, the power station will turn itself off. I had a difficult time with this, especially winter camping. It didn’t matter whether I use the 12 V or the regular current, if it is not pulling power for a certain amount of time, the power stations will turn themselves off.
@WheresWiseman6 ай бұрын
When we tested with our bluetti it actually was getting enough power to keep running. Just not sure what's up with the trailer...

Regarding your AGM battery. Time to upgrade to a 100 aH lithium, like my Renogy in this video. Even get a Bluetooth app to monitor your battery then. kzbin.info/www/bejne/lZeadnmnhJ2ea7sfeature=shared

Is that a Dometic faucet? We have the black one and it doesn’t work well when the top is wet. It’s a faucet… what the heck? Edit… someone should make a ringtone out of you saying “I wipe my own ass”. 😆
