During the first years of the Colonization of Peru by Spain, there were a group of people who were writers. They wrote everything they saw. Their name were Cronistas. There are registered information that they saw reed boat going from the Coast of Peru to Panama and viceversa

Kon Tiki was the boat made out of reed from Titicaca Lake ( Totora) for navigating the Pacific Ocean from Peru to Polynesia. It is been found Inca names in Polynesia as Amaru Island - what means Isla de la Serpiente - Snake Island

There is a lot of evidence - not accepted officially by "science" - that Incas were great sailors. We can find Inca Ruins as far as Isla de Pascua - Easter Island where was stablished the Rapa-Nui people
