Porsche and Rover guy here too! Common combo. Working on my own 89 and 91 SWB restomods myself over on my channel. Looking forward to watching this build.

That's hilarious, I was going to bid on that exact same one on Bring A Trailer! It's just beautiful! I believe it was in Missouri.

That’s a great choice of car, originally from the centre of Spain. They are usually sun burnt but rot free. I’ve learned to my cost when I bought a ‘93 two door RRC 200 Tdi from Portugal. Rot free ? No . . . sadly. All two doors post ‘86 will be LHD as this was when the UK market ceased. They continued to be sold in mainland Europe as in many countries they were taxed as commercial vehicles 👍

A 1990 RR would be on alloys rather than Rostyles, but you could refit either. I don’t think the Tornado alloys will suit it at all - the best types for RRs are the traditional three-spokes, the similar profile five spokes from the CSK and LSE (also the 90SV) or TWR alloys which were a factory option for the Soft Dash models. Still, the Tornados would make a good swap or sale option. The suspension lift would best be removed to get the most comfortable and reliable drive. Terrafirma dampers - they belong in the bin along with all the other cheap, Chinese made brands. Monroe, DeCarbon or other high quality but standard rate dampers would be far better. Good luck with the purchase and rebuild.

Nick, thanks for the on-point comments. We like to hear these things and the RRC community is strong.

@@Paul355c, it is a small but growing community. I think the RRC has been overlooked for a long time, but is getting increasing attention and affection. I share some of the same concerns about elements of the vehicle and it took me two years to find what I wanted (soft dash with factory fitted coil springs, R380 manual transmission, cloth seats without electronics and a solid roof, all behind the less pleasant but far more affordable 300Tdi; fuel prices in Europe and the UK are horrifying, so fuel economy was important). They are a very rewarding vehicle if you get them right. Twenty Ten Engineering and Kingsley Cars are UK RRC restoration and restomod specialists who maybe of help with advice, information and parts.

Rostyles were fitted as standard on two door cars right upto the end of production in early 1994. Indeed, the last car, a two door van, had them 👍

@@MrMontychops, it went for auction at Bonhams in 2019 and was wearing plain silver three-spoke alloys at the time, but they could easily have been fitted any time in the 29 years after it left Solihull.

@@nickboylen6873 the three spokes were a factory option back then too. It’s a great car 👍
