I am Lebanese and make our version of red lentil soup; and I literally eat it every other week for days!!! I cook the lentils in some sautéed onion With cumin and Aleppo red pepper. Add some water and chicken paste. Let the lentils get soft. I purée them with a handheld gadget..On the side I sauté for a few minutes some fresh garlic and cilantro. I add it to the puréed soup. I also add some chopped organic kale. Let the soup cook for a few minutes, with the cilantro, garlic and kale. Then I serve it. Squeeze some lemon juice over the top. With fried or baked pita chips. Honestly, the best soup ever! As we speak, I have some in the refrigerator waiting for me!!!! Great video!!!❤️

I have made this soup before and it is so easy and absolutely delicious. If anyone makes this, don't skip the garlic oil at the end! Thank you for re-posting - I need to make this again. By the way, your videos are so inviting and you make everything look so easy that even I think I can cook! Every time you cook onions they look so delicious and I realized why mine never did. I wasn't using enough oil or adding salt. Now they come out lightly browned and perfect. Thanks for all the great recipes and tips.

Thank you for posting, I was missing your videos. Both look delicious and I'll be making the Khichdi this week. I appreciate how you teach proper technique to bring out the most flavor and not burn the garlic and spices. New cooks often don't know the 'little' things that make a big difference in the final dish. That leads to discouragement and we want everyone to be successful in making delicious food. Hope you have a great week.

Fabulous!😍! I was on my way out to do work in my garden, and here you showed up to stop me in my tracks! Thanks. I don't believe I've ever had red lentils. I certainly need to try! Your recipes are absolutely beautiful! I wonder if your do any vegetable gardening. Would be a perfect addition to your cooking. My main garden is "for the birds" 😊 It's maintained well! 😉 It's good for the soul ❤ Otherwise, I only grow herbs. Enjoy your day, dear!

@@FoodImpromptu I cooked both of them this evening. I was cooking a turkish red lentil soup with mint, which is like the same, but this one is a bit softer. Very nice, my family loved it. The other recipe is just gorgeous. These days I prefer vegan or vegetarian recipes and this one is really deliceus with ginger and coriander and with other ingredients. Also, I love that there is no black pepper in the recipe = it avoided the stomach burning for me!🙂Thanks a lot!I will keep both recipes.

Very nice food and well made video. But to say is easy I’m not sure about that. For me too many ingredients. As a single person I obviously don’t have all the ingredients that you do. Yes I can go and buy them to use maybe this one time. How about some videos with minimal ingredients for single people 👍👍

Red lentils do not require soaking. They cook in 20 minutes .
@dianeladico1769 Жыл бұрын
Soaking removes potential tummy upset, it's not always about the cooking time. Not everyone needs to but it can be helpful to some.
@joannapebbleworthy9343 Жыл бұрын
About the first recipe, this was not a cup of onion and two cups of carrots but much less. Also, red lentils do not require any soaking, and get ready in fifteen minutes. Same goes for the second recipe - lentils are cooked way too long. And try to mash cooked lentils in a watery concoction using a potato masher. Cause perduta. Also totally unnecessary, as red lentils become mash after twenty minutes of cooking.
@FoodImpromptu Жыл бұрын
Every ingredient you see in the video has been measured accurately. Also, soaking the lentils makes it easy on the digestion but you do you :)

@Jo won't you go make your own video no one cares how YOU make yours, haven't you self-proclaimed experts learned to stop making yourself so important and allow others to shine. Your method is half-@$$ btw but to each its own.
