This has become a staple in our house. I've used all these ingredients before, of course, but never used them with this simple technique. Spouse will snort up as much as I put in front of him. Still waiting on the cookbook:)

I just had to come back and comment. Just made these and they are DELICIOUS!!! I tried many, many veggie burger recipes. Some were bland, others were good but nothing exceptional, so I kept looking. THIS is the best veggie burger recipe by far. Thank you so much! I'm a happy happy camper 😊 Now to find a good gluten free dairy free bun recipe that I can make. Thanks again ❤

Bell peppers and frozen corn need to boil for 15 mins to cook? I don’t think so. I would separate some onions and garlic and cook the rice separately then mix with the rest of the veggies so they don’t overcook

First let me say that I love your recipes FoodImpromptu! With that said, I made a few swaps on this dish that others might be interested in. I swapped quinoa for the rice, and chickpeas (2 cans) for the black beans. I pan fried the chickpeas with olive oil and garlic salt, and added them at the very end. The end result was very good, but I had a Ratatouille moment and decided to add a 20 oz can of crushed pineapple. The end result was total fire (my daughter's words)... sooo good! I will say that it was a little on the extra extra moist side of things. Next time, I will increase the quinoa to 1 +1/4 cup, and drop fresh tomatoes by 50g.

The dish as prepared in the video must be a digestive nightmare! Mistake #1: Quinoa needs to soak for at least 5-10 mins to release saponins which cause digestion issues and give quinoa a bitter taste. Even “prewashed”quinoa needs to soak a few minutes. Mistake #2: Quinoa cooks in 15 mins low heat and let rest. 20 mins overcooked your quinoa. Mistake #3: You burned the onions. Lower your heat and cook for less time. Mistake #4: Raisins are loaded with sugar, I would’ve picked carrots instead if your intention is to counter the acidity of the tomatoes. Mistake #5: Soak your chickpeas overnight and let them sprout. Chickpeas out of the can contain phytic acid which acts as an antinutrient in the stomach

I liked it very much. Just a suggestion- since you care about health I would suggest you to take a plain pot( not a non stick) and a wooden spoon to mix ingredients with. I grinch when see a teflon coated pots or any of the new coatings for for that matter.

Stationed in Turkey in 1960, a Turkish friend invited me to supper. It was just a simple meal, but his wife made us red lentil soup. Back then, there was no electricity, much less "immersion" blenders, yet she made a soup that 64 years later I still can taste and crave. Turkish bread, lentil soup, Turkish tea. Doesn't get easier and tastier.

I'm not vegan, but I switch to a completely plant based diet when I'm observing religious fasts. Your videos help immensely. I have no issue with dishes that are completely plant based. I just don't like dishes trying to be a poor imitation of a non-vegan dish. The food you make let's vegetables and legumes be their wonderful selves.

Hi - loveee all your recipes and love how they are so easy for beginners to make!! Could you please also add which cooking equipment you use for the recipe in your descriptions? Like what size frypan, if you are using a crockpot then what size, what size pressure cooker etc. It would be really helpful for beginners

Thank you! 😊 I prefer to pick the spaghetti squash that are ripe and bright yellow in colour and heavier for it’s size. Avoid the ones that are missing the stem and have cracks and soft spots. Hope it helps.
