I watch several tutorials every month as a visual design student and usually I don't comment under them; but man, when you explained how to set the origin point to the geometry of the object I decided to put like and subscribe. I made both way but my decal haven't seen in the cycle engine. Do I have to something different for cycle engine?

as plane it’s just a plane, as decal it adds all the modifiers to make a decal and creates a procedural material
