Hi Ali, there’s still more places to go in Manila, try checking the Venice Grand Canal Mall in Taguig, the Okada hotel and Casino, City of Dreams and Port Bonifacio. You can also go to Tagaytay where you can see the 2 volcanos in one place. Then you also check the abandoned Castle recreation park..

@@GoWithAli You can also go to Newport City. It's a developed business district just across NAIA airport where you landed. So some foreigners can stay there instead of traveling to BGC and other cities of Manila. Newport City has so much to offer as well. Tourist can take the walkway from the airport go to Newport City. They have hotels there, Newport malls, restaurants, condos, etc. I hope you can also feature that. It's never been featured by any expat vbloggers. Actually there is so much to see and do in Manila. I don't know why many expats go straight away to the Islands and provinces. Manila is a beautiful city with many modern and business districts.

Hi Ali, I've been bingeing on your videos and Harry's as well. Let me just say that I admire the way you are exploring our country and mingling with the locals. You show both the good side and the bad side but in a positive way. If you're looking for places to explore, you might wanna go north before heading to the southern islands. Baguio is a city on top of a mountain which is just 4-5 hours away if you take the Solidnorth bus from PITX (Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange). Baguio is rich in heritage and culture and is just an hour away from San Juan, La union which is a popular surf spot or you can head further into the Cordilleran Mountains and head to Sagada where you can go spelunking and see the hanging coffins (traditional burial place of the indigenous people of sagada). By the way, your haircut looks nice! Enjoy the rest of your stay here in the Philippines :)

Pampanga where your barber is from is considered to be the culinary capital of the Philippines. It’s only a couple hours away from Manila. And regarding your shampoo travels, if you go to sari-sari stores or just any store in the Philippines, you’ll find shampoo in single use packets. Not in the big bulky containers.

That's among the best things you can get in the Philippines, a nice and reasonably priced harcut. In Los Angeles, you'll typically spend at least $20 or $25 in a small, local barbershop or salon. Plus the customary tip, you'll shelve out an extra $2 to $5. In the Philippines, for the exact same thing, you only pay $3 to $4 (plus a little massage to go with the haircut). And in the Philippines, a $1 tip (=PhP50) is already much appreciated. Getting your face cleaned (facials) are also very cheap in the Philippines compared to places like L.A. or San Francisco. Basically any esthetics service is cheaper in the Philippines than it is in the States, Australia or Europe. Incredible isn't it?

@@g7k993 True. I know that. I've lived on both sides of the globe. In the States, $25 is $25. However, if you travel to the Philippines as a tourist, your $25 is multiplied by 50 = PhP1,250. And that $2 haircut is just PhP100! So this is basically a huge benefit to tourists and to those who earn U$ but live and $pend it in the Philippines. Like expats.

Obet might be a little shy coz he might not know how to tell you. But when I am having my hair cut, my barber would tell me to stop fidgeting or talking / be steady while he cuts my hair. Specially those moments when he's using the blade to shave for fearing that he might cut you or mess up while trimming your hair. He did a nice job. Always ingat on your adventures.

To be honest, I like vbloggers who give back to the community. Whether big or small amount, that means a lot. Whether that's a tip, buying some people food, just helping. That is a small amount compared to what you will be earning through views and subscriptions the moment you landed Philippines.
