When it comes to catfish, I prefer Flathead overall. Chanel cats however, I let the filets soak in a saltwater brine in the fridge for about 3 - 4 hours or so and then rinse with fresh water and soak in the fresh water in the fridge for another 1 - 2 hours before frying. Not so gamey that way but depends on how strong of a fish taste you prefer. Also makes the meat more tender and flakey. Batter season is a must as always. Just a suggestion that works for me.

Southern Outdoors used to have a log, where fishing results were logged, barometric pressure, rising, lowering, temperature water temp vs. atmosphere temp, Type of moon, etc. Like a Solunar table suggests when fishing would be good! I mention this, as charted out, some things might start to dawn on you! Color of water, etc. Type lures, color of lure, where there’s probably a computer program now, just guessing! I mention where if you key in on some things, it might make it easier ! Seems you do good anyway, but I’ve heard of guys fishing many hours deleting out a lot of time to make a 30 minute one hour show whatever they were! Many hours of fishing, some might been longer!

Sweating and drinking a lot of water will deplete your electrolytes. On a long hot day, you will need to replenish your electrolytes. Many are commercially available. Sports drinks are better than nothing, but you can do better: many drinks require you to drink a gallon and a half to hit RDA plus exposing you to artificial colorings, sugar or artificial sweeteners. Sufficient electrolytes in your body will help your heat tolerance and help speed recovery from heat related problems. Low electrolytes make you more susceptible to heat problems. Stay safe.

Yeah, know what you mean. I have a 30 minute attention span. So on these longer ones, especially if the Slab queen is there, I’ll watch 30 minutes, then another 30 minutes the next day, and so on. I’m bedridden and always looking for something to alleviate my boredom, so love stuff I can watch for several days. 👍😎
