I remember asking our captain in Venice while fishing for swordfish why we weren’t using electric reels. He grabs the radio, asks the captain on the boat about a 1/4 mile away and I’ll never forget his response. Because we ain’t pussies. Lol. I said ok and a few hours later I reeled in my first sword. It did feel pretty good. Not sure how electric is but willing to give it a shot.

Thank you so much for sharing your trip with us. This was so much fun to watch. I was raised in the keys by a charter boat captain and my brother is still a captain down there. I moved out in 1980, and unfortunately I never made a run to the Bahamas. Maybe one day, who knows. But not likely. But I sure enjoyed watching your video and the scenery. I had the best childhood ever! Growing up in the lower keys first, then fifth grade moving up to Islamorada. My summer job, and sometimes during school, washing those beautiful boats of the charter fleet. My Dad’s boat was at Holiday Isle. The Tiki Bar was so tiny at that time. Then came the rolling Tiki Bar, that would come down to the docks. Man I miss it. However so much has changed. My life moved on, I fished some tournaments down there with my brother, after my Dad retired. My Dad and I always talked about how much fun it would be to just travel the water on a sport fisherman doing tournaments all over. My Dad passed now< and well I’m probably much to old and out of shape. So watching your wonderful video really sparked nostalgia in me, and I really enjoyed your video. Thanks so much again. I’ll probably watch it on a regular basis. I, so glad Mr. Allan is putting Walker’s Cay back together. And I love that your Uncle Scott just lives to fish, fantastic. That’s the way my brother Ronnie is, Capt Ron from Pirate for Hire out of World Wide Sportsman. He gave up his sport fisherman many years ago, for a much smaller boat. I’m sure y’all know him. My Dad was Capt Lenny, of the charter boat Tally Whacker. Well I know. TMI. Thanks again. 😊

I wish it wasn’t so dang expensive. I’ve been dying to wet a line ever since my other half passed 4 years ago. We used to go out regularly with different charters around Florida. We once went to the middle grounds and ran into a huge storm that had people flying all over the place. You could barely get a hold of anything that wasn’t coming apart from its foundation. Bathrooms were flooded. Equipment and people’s personal belongings were flying off the boat and crashing up against the windows. Any time we tried to venture off shore to pick up a little speed we were hit by 10 foot waves scaring the crap out of everyone. Personally, except for having to go pee every five minutes, I had a blast!
