SMFR did an excellent job of getting water on those fires with very good effect within 90 seconds upon arrival by those two fighters, and within 3 minutes most of visible fire knocked down, impressive. That rinsing off of the firefighters, that also probably helped them cool down too. Really, you can't get much better than that response. That second fully involved house fire was surprising just how intense that scene appeared, Wow! But once again SMFR was one it and got real command over it and took control very effectively and quickly. Eric always does a great job as a POI, but Conner is just so intense looking into the camera and always on the brink of smiling, she must really enjoy her job, kind of hard to break eye contact even. But another great video with excellent coverage of SMFR in action.

I am always watching structure fire videos and I always notice that the police are first on scene and are always running into and up to the houses to look for people and they don’t even have fire gear on

Jacob POLICE that’s cause they 1st responders not 2nd lol. Police should be taught VES since some FDs don’t do it but cops will.

Because they are police officers and always on patrol in their vehicles. It should be no suprise that they are on scene first. Since they are Police officers and not firefighters, that would explain why they dont have firefighting gear and know about VES (where would you keep a ladder on a LE vehicle?). Its not any different than firefighters carrying hadcuffs. Two different jobs. Firefighters are not on patrol waiting for a fire (or any other type of call excluding law enforcement) but rather at their station ready and prepared. There is only one agency im aware of that the police are firefighters as well...Suisun City, Ca. Used to be anyhow.

Curious? I noticed the PIOs when arriving on scene to a residential address that they park in someone's driveway. I understand that it frees up the road for apparatus and ambulance access. Has a homeowner or resident ever become irrate with you because of this?

Haha I read "Love on the scene" when I quickly read your post. OOPS. I dated a girl that was on the same dept as I, different Station tho. We worked 1 structure fire together, not partnered up tho. My stn was WAY busier than hers. She had 8 yrs on when I got hired, and I think within 2 months, I had more fires and medicals than her. Plus, I rode with Detroit Fire for 3 years prior, full 24 hr shifts. Talk about trial by fire !! :-)

has the fire departments ever thought about this idea,once hooked up to on pumper truck,with water coming in,hook that water supply up to another truck,and so on,because a hydrant can provide for more than just on Truck,i was in a state that did that and it worked out really well

We run in a house fire with no bunker gear or SCBA, we got killed ! Police do it, they're heroes !! Dumb. Please don't do that officers. What's the story on that Orange SCBA bottle ? How much time do you have ? I've never seen that colour, cool, and good for vision by other ff's inside. Also, I think every truck should have that paint scheme. Chicago started it. Black upper, red lower. Awesome !!!! And black bunker gear. Many depts. are going that way, tossing the beige colour out. Why ?

Cool. Sort of like the colour changes on the fire trucks over the years. We went from red, to yellow, to a lime green, back to red. Now, the trend seems to be the lights changing from all red to red and blue, maybe a green tossed in, like Chicago's.

Awesome ! Thanks for that great detailed response brother !! Wow, are we different on the R.I.T thing. Our Chiefs assign 2 firefighters for R.I.T..not enough IMO. Who rescues R.I.T ? Last structure fire, yours truly got tossed onto a R.I.T team, with a firefighter with 8 years seniority, I with 6 months. We are geared up, masked, but not on air. Then, the dreaded rain started, and you know what that does to your mask. But then, my gf of the day showed up (she's a ff too, different station tho) and her hot daughter, and I could barely make them out while they walked towards us, hopping over the supply lines, and I wondering who the 2 hot chicks are coming towards us poor R.I.T bastards !! We are supplied with a few irons, that's it ! Our SCBA bottles are cylinder carbon, 4500 psi, 60 minutes. I suck mine way too hard, so fix that 60 to read 40, lmao !!!!
