One of the few exceptions was when we did a trip to Letsibogo dam in Botswana .We hit the very big dead trees with a sinker and worm and then just letting it fall in and sink, we caught 3 biguns. I never tried again because the dams around home have no standing timber in.

Thanks Randy. I do this as much as possible, although I’m not yet an expert caster or flipper. I do believe stealth is generally better. I might add though, there are times-although rare I suppose-where the crash of the bait hitting the water generates a reaction strike.

If you are experienced jig flipper you should be able to put it on top of them without spooking them,I have no problem doing so
