Hey Randy thanks for all these videos, last year I couldn't catch a bass ever, I religiously watch all your videos and I've learned so much. This week on a chatterbait I've caught the 3 biggest bass so far, of 4-5 lbs. Just wanted to give you a shout out on all your wisdom.

One of the best trailers is the Hog Farmer Spunk Shad.

All I use unless I fish my local river then I switch to a black and blue with a craw trailer(usually a googan bandito bug) and I just slow roll it along the bank line and smack them all day.

Chatterbaits are some of the funnest baits to throw year round. I even throw mine in the creeks and smallies seem to LOVE them too. My biggest bass I’ve ever caught have been chatter bait

The right time to fish a chatterbait is all the time. Every time I think their not eating it . Someone catches them on it. It works almost all year.

My PB came on a bladed jig, dragging it across the bottom in some of the muddiest water I’ve ever seen🎣

Randy, when using a paddletail as a trailer, do you have to modify the tail or anything so it doesn't mess with the chatterbait blade? Thanks!

I've fished chatterbaits until I'm blue in the face, but so far I've yet to even get a hit on one! Not sure what I'm doing wrong, or maybe my area just isn't well-suited for chatterbaits, but I still catch more fish on a spinnerbait.

Same I catch on a swim jig but not a chatter bait

I find I get a lot of short strikes from smaller fish. However when I get a solid hit it’s usually a toad.

Northern snakehead here in Maryland absolutely attack chatterbaits from nowhere, it's my go to early summer before the grass takes over. I started making my own cuz I catch them so often on it. I think it pisses them off from the vibration

Nice video bro! Just a question i want to ask do i need to use a weighted hook for chatterbait?
@1965JB4 ай бұрын
It’s weighted. Usually 3/8 oz and up.

I like them, and they catch me a lot of bass, but I almost quit buying them due to getting hung up so much and losing so darn many...I just can't afford to throw money away.

There are company’s that make them with weed guards. There’s some that allows you to rig your trailer weedless or if you use a wide trailer like a rage bug . It will come over wood better.

I make my own for the same reason. I also use the Do-it Poison Swing Tail Mold for the heads, so I can put an offset EWG on it.

The trick is using an open eye underspin insert, meant for their underspin swimbait jugheads, as the line tie. Just put the blade in and close it up. It's a lot stronger than it looks.
